Explicit polyhedral approximation of the Euclidean ball

International audienceWe discuss the problem of computing points of IRn whose convex hull contains the Euclidean ball, and is contained in a small multiple of it. Given a polytope containing the Euclidean ball, we introduce its successor obtained by intersection with all tangent spaces to the Euclidean ball, whose normals point towards the vertices of the polytope. Starting from the L-infinity ball, we discuss the computation of the two first successors, and give a complete analysis in the case when n = 6

Objective: To determine factors influencing early diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancerin Tanzania women.Design: A cross-sectional study.Setting: Forty primary health care facilities, twenty districffregional and four referral(tertiary) hospitals in mainland Tanzania. Results: The most basic equipment for cytology-based cervical cancer were available at allhealth care facilities. However, screening against cervical cancer was appallingly inadequateat all levels of health care delivery system. Apart from medical doctors at tertiary level, othermedical personnel including nurses were poorly or hardly utilised for cervical cancerscreening. Treatment facilities for pre-cancerous lesions in most district, regional and eventertiary hospitals were inadequate or non-existent despite being very simple, cheap and yetvery effective. There was total lack of organised institutional or national policy guidelines oncervical cancer screening in Tanzania. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to introduce systematic screening against cervicalcancer and treatment of precursor lesions at all levels of health care delivery system inTanzania. A national policy guideline should be urgently drawn addressing specificallyfrequency of screening and at what age to start screening
