The article describes the possibilities of modern language education to master special languages. The need for their study is conditioned by the need of language servicing for international communication in a professional environment. The authors of the article describe their experience in language teaching for specific purposes at the Department of Translation and World Cultural Heritage of Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University. The structure and the content of courses are designed to improve the training of translators by increasing their knowledge of terminology, developing the skills of special texts translation, mastering the language of business communication, as well as the preparation for international certification in business English. These survey data and observations suggest that the mastery of languages for special purposes is the obligatory component in the education of a linguistic student within the labor market condition

The authors pursued the goals of studying the complex macrostructure of the English-Russian dictionary of architecture terms as a special layer of vocabulary featuring specific structural, semantic and functional characteristics. In the paper we dwelled on major trends of modern terminography as well as existing lexicographical sources that document the architectural terminology. Following the scope of our interests in this branch of linguistic studies we focus on the structure of the lexical entry of the bilingual dictionary that is to consist of nine sections. The methodology of the professional dictionary development is the result of a multidimensional approach to the study of architectural terms in the Russian and English languages

© SGEM 2014. In the beginning of the 21 century, on the right bank of the Sviyaga river, the building up of the sport ski complex “Kazan” was organized and almost at once after that, an active landslides with considerable shifts of the soil began to happen. Previous researches were based on the conventional geology aspects of this area-sub horizontal deposits of Permian measures. Thus the critical angle and nature of the formed landslides are absolutely did not correspond to the typical destruction of rock massive of the area nearby. Our researches showed that on the area of sport ski complex, the geological aspect is absolutely different. Permian measures have an “invention” and considerably folded. It can testified to that we have a deal with an old landslide, forming of which had started in the period of late Neo-Pleistocene with the beginning of the depositing of the right flowing of Sviyaga river-Sulitsa river. In this work are presented the results of a comprehensive assessment of landslides danger on that area, which are based on a large volume of field and laboratory researches. As a result it was established that one of the reason of the landslides developing (not determinate during previous researches) is a strong dislocation and durability loss of carbonate and terrigene Permian measures. Therefore at calculation of stability of slopes it is necessary to consider possibility of formation of a circular cylindrical surface of sliding, by analogy to disperse soil. Mechanical properties of massive material have to be defined taking into account their fracturing. Also conducted researches led to revision of the earliest wrong ideas of a geological structure of this area and to make correction of geological maps

© 2016 Valeev et al.Modern Russian educational system is focused today on the use of interactive technologies in education. It is due to such objective factors as the possibility to enhance learning efficiency; the possibility of assimilation per unit of time more training concepts; increasing the speed of assimilation of the material; encouraging the active participation of each student in the learning process; awakening students’ interest in learning a foreign language; providing multifaceted impact on them. In this regard, in the recent researches on pedagogy and psychology it is highly recommended to use interactive technologies, which involves giving students the opportunity to individually expand and deepen their language skills, as well as forming their subject position in determining their educational path. The article reveals the essence of the use of interactive technologies in teaching a foreign language and gives structurally-substantial characteristics of this technology; grounded didactic conditions for the implementation of interactive technologies in teaching a foreign language; the content and methods of interactive learning at collaborative learning and, in general, the implementation of interactive technologies in the practice of the school. The article proposes the model of foreign language teaching methodology of the Russian high school students, due to the overall goal setting system of education in Russia, as well as the specifics of subject “Foreign Language”

© 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York.A procedure and results are examined for experimentally studying the seismic stability of sandy soil in the bed of a developed high-rise building in Kazan’ city. It is shown that the studied soil are not susceptible to fluidification in response to expected seismic events, although in certain of these, development of large additional deformations is predicted, which should be taken into account in design

The relevance of the paper is determined by the intensification of international and intercultural contacts contributing to further promotion of the Russian language lexical system enrichment. The paper is devoted to the study and scientific analysis of neologisms of the French origin in the Russian language of modern period in terms of semantic adaptation of the foreign word in the recipient language. The basic mechanisms of reception and adaptation of the French language ethno-cultural components in the Russian language were identified through the analysis of various sources, including etymological, defining, and foreign dictionaries. This article describes four basic mechanisms of lexical-semantic assimilation of the foreign words in the Russian language environment (narrowing or expanding of the semantic range of a word; semantic structure sustainability; semantic shift). The study data of the article suggest the universal character of the proposed analysis criteria that can be applied to foreign language vocabulary of any language of any etymology
