    The first ultra-high resolution Digital Terrain Model of the shallow-water sector around Lipari Island (Aeolian Islands, Italy)

    Very high resolution bathymetric map obtained through multibeam echosounders data are crucial to generate accurate Digital Terrain Models from which the morphological setting of active volcanic areas can be analyzed in detail. Here we show and discuss the main results from the first multibeam bathymetric survey performed in shallow-waters around the island of Lipari, the largest and the most densely populated of the Aeolian Islands (southern Italy). Data have been collected in the depth range of 0.1-150 m and complete the already existent high-resolution multibeam bathymetry realized between 100 and 1300 m water depth. The new ultrahigh resolution bathymetric maps at 0.1-0.5 m provide new insights on the shallow seafloor of Lipari, allowing to detail a large spectrum of volcanic, erosive-depositional and anthropic features. Moreover, the presented data allow outlining the recent morphological evolution of the shallow coastal sector of this active volcanic island, indicating the presence of potential geo-hazard factors in shallow waters

    The performance of green communication across social media: Evidence from large-scale retail industry in Italy

    Social media have surged prominently as communication channels for corporate social responsibility. However, little is still known about the performance of green versus non-green communication across different social media. We contribute by examining whether the presence of green features in social media communication exerts a beneficial effect on consumer response in terms of likes, comments, and shares. We also investigate how this effect hinges upon the social media platform where the content is posted as well as the richness of the format (text, photos, videos) utilized for the diffusion. To our scopes, we use an ad hoc dataset of posts of two major large-scale retailers in Italy across three major social media, namely Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Our results show that, while green content generally stimulates larger response than non-green content, its effect varies across social media, with the highest effect being observed on Instagram (at least for likes) and the lowest on Twitter (at least for comments). Moreover, the extent to which the positive effect of green content increases as media richness increases (i.e., moving from only text to text plus photo, and then to text plus video) is also contingent upon the social media platform. On Facebook, the moderation of media richness is positive and significant, while being insignificant on Instagram. On Twitter, the moderation is even nonmonotonic in the sense that the highest (positive) effect of green content tends to be obtained for either low or high media richness. Our findings offer remarkable implications for firms engaging in environmental sustainability

    Application of Technological System Based on Processes Modelling and Analysis: A Case Study in Italian Aquaculture Company

    In recent years, cause of several scandals and incidents in agrifood context, consumer awareness about food product increased. That evolution of the consumer triggers new demand about transparency/accountability by the market. Food industry can face the emerging issues considering traceability principles. A traceability system could support the food companies to maneuver in the complex network of the supply chain and, simultaneously, to answer to the new consumer and market needs. In this work a theoretical approach based on business process modelling was proposed and tested in a real case study. Through an interview and using BPMN technique, the cherry cultivation process of a food companies was modelled. Each activities and actors involved in cultivation was identified in order to detect data stored in different source and format. These data could be strategical if elaborated and transmitted to different stakeholder of the supply chain

    Electrical and Optical Characterization of CsPbCl3 Films around the High-Temperature Phase Transitions

    Large-area CsPbCl(3) films in the range 0.1–1.5 μm have been grown by radio frequency (RF)-magnetron sputtering on glass substrates by means of a one-step procedure. Three structural phase transitions have been detected, which are associated with hysteresis behavior in the electrical current when measured as a function of temperature in the range 295–330 K. Similarly, photoluminescence (PL) experiments in the same temperature range bring evidence of a non-monotonic shift of the PL peak. Detailed electrical characterizations evidenced how phase transitions are not influencing detrimentally the electrical transport properties of the films. In particular, the activation energy (0.6–0.8 eV) extracted from the temperature-dependent film resistivity does not appear to be correlated with phase changes. A non-linear trend of the photoconductivity response as a function of a ultra violet (UV) 365 nm light emitting diode (LED) power has been interpreted considering the presence of an exponential tail of intragap defects. Thermally stimulated currents after exposure with the same LED measured from room temperature up to 370 K showed no evidence of trapping effects due to intragap states on the electrical transport properties at room temperature of the films. As a consequence, measured photocurrents at room temperature appear to be well reproducible and stable in time, which are attractive features for possible future applications in photodetection
