A numerical and analytical study of two holes doped into the 2D t--J model

Exact diagonalization numerical results are presented for a 32-site square cluster, with two holes propagating in an antiferromagnetic background described by the t-J model. We characterize the wave function of the lowest energy bound state found in this calculation, which has d_{x^2-y^2} symmetry. Analytical work is presented, based on a Lang-Firsov-type canonical transformation derived quasiparticle Hamiltonian, that accurately agrees with numerically determined values for the electron momentum distribution function and the pair correlation function. We interpret this agreement as strong support for the validity of this description of the hole quasiparticles.Comment: 3 pages, REVTeX, to appear in the proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Spectroscopies in Novel Superconductors, September 14-18, 1997, Cape Cod, Massachusett

Evidence for a Critical Behavior in 4D4D Pure Compact QED

We present evidence about a critical behavior of 4D4D compact QED (CQED) pure gauge theory. Regularizing the theory on lattices homotopic to a sphere, we present evidence for a critical, i.e. second order like behavior at the deconfinement phase transition for certain values of the coupling parameter γ\gamma.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, POSTSCRIPT file (127KB uuencoded

Exploring high school students’ emotions in energy illustrations by using EDA Sensors

    Get PDF
Academic emotions are a multidimensional phenomenon (Pekrun et al., 2004; Shuman, V., & Scherer, K. R. 2014) involving different processes. However, the students’ cognition and outcomes are related directly to students’ academic emotions, the electrodermal Activity (EDA) is one of the electrical parameters that can be used to determine the emotional state including stress levels. In this presentation, we explore high school students’ emotions in physics by using those sensors. First, data from two different versions of EDA sensors are compared with self-reported emotions by using a computerized version of Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM) (Bradley & Lang,1994). In this step we compared our data to the data of the technical handbook (Lang et al., 2008). Second, we profile students’ emotions of energy images with EDA sensor data and self-reported data. The data from both EDA sensor systems are comparable. But no connection between EDA sensor data and self-reported data can be found. We also can differentiate different clusters of energy pictures according to students EDA levels. For this study, 14 crossbred buffaloes of Murrah and Mediterranean descent aged between 18 and 36 months were used. The average values of P before supplementation in serum and bone, the percentage of bone ash and the specific bone density were 5.68mg/dL±1.18, 16.53%±0.53, 59.95%±1.96 and 1.52g/cm3 ±0.32, respectively, which demonstrated P deficiency in animals raised on Ilha de Marajó. After supplementation with P for a period of seven months, the values were 6.61mg/dL±0.87, 16.90%±0.56 and 60.30%±0.95 and 1.71g/cm3 ±0.21, respectively. These results showed a significant increase in P concentration in blood serum, specific bone density and percentage of P in ash (P<0.05), but there was no significant increase in the percentage of ash. The average increase in P in the serum and ash did not reach normal levels in all animals; however, 28.6% of the animals had normal values of P in serum and 50% in the ash, and 64.3% had normal specific bone density values. The nonre-establishment, in some of the animals, of the variables of P serum and bone after supplementation for seven months may have occurred as a result of the low intake of the mineral mixture and by the low concentration of P in the Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu used for feeding animals during the experiment

Method: Case report of the presentation and interpretation of research results, in 2015, totaling 25 participating professionals. The visual resource used was a data projector. Results: Participants reported the importance of the initiative, since, even though it is their right, feedback on research results is uncommon. Among the discussed issues, emerged the need for a culturally appropriate device for adequately strengthening educational practices carried out by healthcare professionals. Conclusion: Feedback on the research results enabled exchange of knowledge about the findings and production of new knowledge. In addition to achieving the social and ethical commitment of research, by promoting dissemination of results, enabling reflections on the reality in which they work

Methods: Seven testing rounds of a serological survey were conducted at 1-week intervals between April 19 and May 31, 2020 in Teresina municipality. Results: Over the 7 weeks, serological positivity increased from 0.56% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.18%–1.30%) to 8.33% (95% CI: 6.61%–10.33%), representing 33–53 persons infected for each reported case. Conclusions: Serological screening may be an important tool for understanding the immunity of a population and planning community interventions
