Using fuzzy logic for automatic control: Case study of a problem of cereals samples classification

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is to present the use of fuzzy logic for automatic control of industrial systems particularly the way to approach a problem of classification. We present a case study of a grading system of cereals that allows us to determine the price of transactions of cereals in Tunisia. Our contribution in this work consists in proposing not only an application of the fuzzy logic on the grading system of cereals but also a methodology enabling the proposing of a new grading system based on the concept of 'Grade' while using the fuzzy logic techniques.

APPLICATION OF SYSTEM ANALYSIS IN ORDER TO MONITOR GRAIN SILOS

After a presentation of the management of grain silos, we present the necessity of the system analysis and the identification of information in grain silos based on the OOPP method (Objectives Oriented Project Planning). This kind of analysis enables an efficient management and monitoring of the activities of grain silos. In fact, the OOPP method constitutes a tool of a global system modeling that allows us to analyze a difficult situation by a hierarchically decomposition until attainment a basic level allowing to an operational planning. Then, the aim of this paper is the application of the OOPP method to the analysis of grain silos which enables us to contribute to the development and deployment of an Information System and monitoring of grain storage

System Analysis of a Hybrid Renewable Energy System

    Get PDF
Renewable energies are important components of sustainable development. Indeed, coupled with a rational use of energy, they reduce the use of conventional energy systems based on resources of fossil and fissile origin, and so therefore the pressures environmental and socio-economic use. Renewable energy aims to offer an energy service to our society at an acceptable price. But on the other hand, the cost of this service has an impact on the local economy, the environment and society in general. Compared to conventional solutions, enhancement of renewable energy creates more jobs, strengthens the local economy, reduces the environmental impact and reduces the lust on the stocks of energy and therefore it is a source of peace. In this paper, we are interested in the study of a hybrid renewable energy system: wind – photovoltaic – accumulator. The objective of this paper is to propose a novel approach of system analysis based on the OOPP method (Objective Oriented Project Planning) of a hybrid renewable energy system.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v4i3.588

System analysis and information system development for a smart grid

    Get PDF
Because the systemic model of any organization is organized by matching an operating system and a decision system through an information system, the implementation of the information system and the effectiveness of its exploitability is an unavoidable operation. Indeed, its modeling allows us to have a tool of analysis and assistance in decision-making. The purpose of this paper is to present an application of a system approach based on the OOPP method for modeling an information system of an industrial company

Dependability Evaluation and Supervision in Thermal Power Plants

    Get PDF
In order to improve the productivity and the consistency of its maintenance strategies, the industrial world is based on different techniques and tools developed to ensure safe operation and the supervision of production systems. In fact, dependability evaluation is crucial to controlling the risks associated with system failure, and for this reason, it is one of the fundamental steps in automated system design. In this paper, we present firstly the basic concepts for the study of dependability as well as functional systems analysis. Thus, we present the method SADT (Structured Analysis Design technique). Given the ineffectiveness of methods that are currently exploited are not appropriate because the level of complexity of such industrial systems, we propose in the first the Safe-SADT method which allows the explicit formalization of functional interaction, the identification of the characteristic values affecting complex system dependability, the quantification of RAMS parameters (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) for the system’s operational architecture. Secondly, a methodology for designing supervisory production systems has been presented and has been applied on an example of a SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system of a thermal power plant. Finally, a model of operating safety and supervision of a production system is proposed

Identification of the behavioral criteria of dairy cattle on the basis of electronic imaging

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the identification of the behavioral criteria of dairy cattle through Imaging. The objective of the study is the optimization of the rate of pregnancy in these cows. Indeed, the gestural behaviors of 200 cows belonging to a stable were observed by giving more attention to cows that show signs of heat known. A camera was used to record the different postures and the different behaviors of these cows. The quantitative data of reproduction studied farm showed that the rate of pregnancy in these cows is far from optimal. This is due essentially to a lack of monitoring and observation of cows in heat negatively affecting the economics of the operation. Detecting cows in heat can be made and improved by using Imaging. This will facilitate the life of farmers and increase their income and decreasing the time for detection of the heat

E-learning systems for teaching industrial automatism

    Get PDF
The examples of e-learning systems have been successfully tested in a number of international engineering college and innovative industry and make it possible to improve  performance of production by raising the professional level of the students and staff. E-learning can directly tie education to the formation of tutorial for teaching industrial automatism, the purpose of this study is to discuss strategies for developing integrated e-learning courseware based on instructional design and technology models. The essential of this methodological approach is to specify the composition of the various teaching modules in industrial automatism to be accessible to the students with a system modeling method and to develop a digital support that can be exploited in distance learning. E-learning systems aims at a two-way knowledge, communication between academia and industry. E-learning systems provides a real-life environment for engineers to develop their skills and comprehend the challenges involved in everyday industrial practice. This paper describes the challenges for using automates in the industry, It presents the fully application of system analysis for the design of a tutorial for teaching industrial automatism

Modeling and simulation of building energy consumption

    Get PDF
Building energy consumption represents much of the total energy consumed in advanced countries. For this reason, the aim of this paper is to study the energy consumption profile by day for each domestic appliance: controllable appliances (heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electric water heater, dishwasher, washing machine) and non-controllable appliances (oven, TV, PC, iron, refrigerator and freezer) where the modeling and the simulation based on MATLAB/Simulink software are presented

Application of system analysis and preventive maintenance on cigarette packer line

The use of system analysis and preventive maintenance in today’s industry becomes a necessity as it increases equipment availability. These methods reduce the frequency of failures. The objective of this article is to present a case study for improving the reliability and availability of a production group in an industrial enterprise. Next, we present an improvement in maintenance. Finally, we present and discuss the application of preventive maintenance. Through an industrial manufacturing model, we will combine three tools; SADT modelling, the FMECA analysis and the Pareto diagram to arrive at an optimal maintenance approach that will be a decision support tool in order to minimize the repair costs and the downtime of the system.
