    Development and Implementation of a Diabetes Management Flow Sheet in a Primary Care Practice: A Quality Improvement Project.

    Primary care practices that do not utilize electronic medical records (EMR) could pose difficulty in adhering to clinical guidelines for diabetic patients. Diabetes flow sheets are a one page document that includes current practice guideline recommendations for easy access of results to promote comprehensive care. The main objective of this project was to promote adherence to diabetes guidelines with the use of a diabetes flow sheet for providers that do not utilize an EMR. Plan-Do-Study-Act was the design for this project. A total of 50 medical records were randomly selected at a primary care office. A pre and post-implementation of the diabetes flow sheet was audited for documentation of clinical practice guidelines (CPG). A post implementation evaluation was administered for the feasibility of the flow sheet and for evaluation. The results of the diabetes flow sheet to promote better adherence to CPG were significant. The total scores of the pre and post documentation mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) increased significantly from pre-implementation (M = 11.67, SD = 1.06) to post-implementation (M = 13.67, SD = 1.34), t (42) = 8.26, p\u3c.0000. The mean differences in pre-implementation and post-implementation of diabetes flow sheet was (M = 2.00, SD = 1.59) with a 95% CI ranging from [1.51 to 2.48]. Maintaining a diabetes flow sheet in the front of the paper medical record is imperative so PCPs can utilize the process of the flow sheets to establish adequate care management for health outcomes for type 2 diabetes

The videos, depicting myself in costume, display twenty different personas and scenarios created to expose the futility of this ongoing search through exposing the traditional ways in which forces such as nature, biology, heredity, and cultural constructs have been used in attempts to define self. The installation format of the work, a wall of decades old television sets, and the unending repetition of videos, symbolizes the exhaustive search for self. While the visual absurdity, and reference to past feminist art alludes to a mockery of such works. A singular TV with one unchanging face positioned behind the wall of televisions represents the understanding and conclusion that self is not something that can be indefinitely defined, nor will it reach a culmination

    thesisThe Morris water maze is a task adapted from the animal spatial cognition literature and has been studied in the context of sex differences in humans, particularly because of the standard design, which manipulates proximal (close) and distal (far) cues. However, there are mixed findings with respect to the interaction of cues and sex differences in virtual Morris water maze tasks, which may be attributed to variations in the scale of the space and previously unmeasured individual differences. We explore the question of scale and context by presenting participants with an outdoor virtual Morris water maze that is four times the size of the mazes previously tested. We also measured lifetime mobility and mental rotation skills. Results of this study suggest that for the small-scale environment, males and females performed similarly when asked to navigate with only proximal cues. However, males outperformed females when only distal cues were visible. In the large-scale environment, males outperformed females in both cue conditions. Additionally, greater mental rotation skills predicted better navigation performance with proximal cues only. Finally, we found that highly mobile females and males perform equally well when navigating with proximal cues

    Dynamic sensor tasking and IMM EKF estimation for tracking impulsively maneuvering satellites

    In order to efficiently maintain space situational awareness, care must be taken to optimally allocate expensive observation resources. In most situations the available sensors capable of tracking spacecraft have their time split between many different monitoring responsibilities. Tracking maneuvering spacecraft can be especially difficult as the schedule of maneuvers may not be known and will often throw off previous orbital models. Effectively solving this tasking problem is an ongoing focus of research in the area of space situational awareness. Most methods of automated tasking do not make use of interacting multiple model extended Kalman filter techniques to better track satellites during maneuvers. This paper proposes a modification to a Fisher information gain and estimated state covariance based sensor tasking method to take maneuver probability and multiple model dynamics into account. By incorporating the probabilistic maneuvering model, sensor tasking can be improved during satellite maneuvers using constrained resources. The proposed methods are verified through the use of numerical simulations with multiple maneuvering satellites and both orbital and ground-based sensors
