This publication documents works produced in the summer of 1999 by artists participating in a residency at Centre Est-Nord-Est. Fraser suggests the residency’s theme of “gathering” refers to the transformation of a given site and the construction of memory. She also provides descriptive analyses of the artists’ interventions in the landscape – pieces placed along a busy roadway, in a cottage, snack bar, old mill and chapel. Includes brief statements by the artists. Fraser’s text in French and English. Biographical notes
