    Plant trait and vegetation data along a 1314 m elevation gradient with fire history in Puna grasslands, Per\ufa

    \ua9 2024. The Author(s). Alpine grassland vegetation supports globally important biodiversity and ecosystems that are increasingly threatened by climate warming and other environmental changes. Trait-based approaches can support understanding of vegetation responses to global change drivers and consequences for ecosystem functioning. In six sites along a 1314 m elevational gradient in Puna grasslands in the Peruvian Andes, we collected datasets on vascular plant composition, plant functional traits, biomass, ecosystem fluxes, and climate data over three years. The data were collected in the wet and dry season and from plots with different fire histories. We selected traits associated with plant resource use, growth, and life history strategies (leaf area, leaf dry/wet mass, leaf thickness, specific leaf area, leaf dry matter content, leaf C, N, P content, C and N isotopes). The trait dataset contains 3,665 plant records from 145 taxa, 54,036 trait measurements (increasing the trait data coverage of the regional flora by 420%) covering 14 traits and 121 plant taxa (ca. 40% of which have no previous publicly available trait data) across 33 families

    In this chapter, we examine the work of the Sámi artist Anders Sunna and the Egyptian artist Bahia Shebab in order to address strategies of artistic criticism of the relations between states and their citizens. Both artists are protesting against contemporary processes relating to space, state and nation, and they express themselves in ways that are embedded in the aesthetics of unsanctioned street art. This expression constitutes an interesting form of politics, situated somewhere in-between, or alongside, party politics and the practices of civil society. Our aim is to describe and discuss what we see as specifically effective and dynamic themes in the chosen artwork — the use of space as object and methodology, and the production of iconic imageries within fantasies of protest.     Impact of Grid Assimilation on Operational Agility in Turbulent Environments: An Empirical Investigation in the Financial Services Industry

    Financial services providers are exposed to a highly turbulent environment that is characterized by an intense competition for the development of new financial products and the attraction of customers. Against this background, Grid technology assimilation can be assumed to be a potential strategic response to address fast changing market demands and to enhance the operational agility of business processes. This article presents the results of a quantitative field study conducted to analyze to what extent Grid assimilation impacts on the agility of business processes, as well as the role of environmental turbulence in the Grid assimilation process. The research model was validated based on 178 responses from senior IT decision makers of financial services providers in the U.S. that have already adopted Grid technology. The results from partial least squares analyses suggest that environmental turbulence significantly strengthens the relationship between Grid assimilation and operational agility
