Multiespacialidades metropolitanas e construção social do lugar – rumos para a sustentabilidade
The metropolitan region of Curitiba – MRC – contains several spatial configurations and, besides having the third automobile industry of the country; it is currently the only metropolitan region with a population growth rate higher than the national average. Between 1970 and 2000, it had the highest geometric growth rate among metropolitan regions in Brazil: it grew 2.13% in its core and 4.18% in the suburbs(IBGE, 2000). However, last places are where 90% of the population live. There, social and urban structures are underdeveloped and the population number has risen three times in the last twenty years. Whereas in Curitiba 12.46% of the houses have an income around US $80 per month, in the suburbs this proportion rises to 50% or more. Discussing sustainability, it is necessary to understand the environmental dimension as a social and natural whole. In this paper analyze some aspects of the population conditions in the nearest neighborhood of Curitiba, where an improvement of the locus sense of place could contribute to a metropolitan and urban sustainability
Optimizing the occupation of space and the use of natural resources is a recommended goal in order to achieve greater urban sustainability, and so is rationalizing and managing efficiently urban flow. This article presents a step of a research in the field of Urban Design that questions how are urban spaces configured in the surroundings of bus stations. The objective is to reflect about results and consequences of urban pro-jects (urban design), especially those affecting a significant part of the population, such as mobility condi-tions in metropolitan centers. Curitiba is the pole of a metropolitan area composed by 29 municipalities, but 13 of them comprised by the integrated transportation system known as RIT, which transports approximately 2 million users daily. The study is justified by the upcoming extension of the RIT system in face of peri-urban growing, environmental limits and the balance for urbanized soil needs. The methodology is of punctuating per categories existing elements and scales of values as first stage as to obtain pointers to manage the ur-ban environment
Considerations about irregular occupations and urban plot
process under the water soucers of Curitibas metropolitan
region
Abstract
The article presents reflection about the occupation process data on the expansion of east part of
metropolitan region, specially focusing the territory of municipalities of Pinhais, Piraquara and São José
dos Pinhais where are fundamental water sources for regional public consumption. The break down of
these water resources is foreseen in three decades ahead and this situation was improved by irregular forms of occupation of areas where the regional planning had fixed strategy of preservation since 1978.
At the present times the irregular occupations and invasions are increasing in a very high speed and
proportion what constitute harder situation for conservancy practices
Notes on regional urban planning in the face of socio-environmental
metamorphoses
Abstract
The text presents considerations on the inevitability of facing the plural character of the urban context in
the path toward the improvement of city planning and management instruments. This perspective points
at difficulties stemming from the need to open up to a large number of variables that must be considered
and which, if progressively integrated in more flexible territory organization and management programs,
may pave the way for increased general public participation in dealing with shared spaces. The
appropriation of urban spaces by their populations is considered an indispensable password for successful
public urban planning policies
rises to 50% or more. Discussing sustainability, it is necessary to understand the environmental dimension
as a social and natural whole. In this paper analyze some aspects of the population conditions in the
nearest neighborhood of Curitiba, where an improvement of the locus sense of place could contribute to
a metropolitan and urban sustainability
Postural education programmes with school children: A scoping review
Spinal deformities and back pain are growing problems in childhood and adolescence,
due to unhealthy habits. This study undertook a scoping review to identify scientific studies with
children and adolescents, focusing on the methodologies used, implementation of key factors and
gaps, and results of postural education programmes to promote sustainable healthy habits. The
methodological tool PRISMA-ScR was used. Five online databases were used to identify papers
published since 2013. Eligibility criteria were defined, and the search strategies were drafted. A total
of 86 publications were initially identified; after screening and applying eligibility criteria, 11 papers
were included in this study for detailed analysis. The postural education programmes in these papers
mainly focused on adolescents’ postures and postural learning acquisition, using different teaching
methodologies; only one study was conducted with children between 5 and 6 years old enrolled in
preschool. Follow-up studies revealed inconsistent results. However, developing and measuring
the effectiveness of young children’s postural education programmes, to enhance experiences of
movement variability and strategies for postural control in playful activities, is of great relevance
for children’s healthy development, and can also have positive impacts on environmental and social
sustainability by promoting healthy and conscious lifestyles.FCT -Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia(UI/BD/154384/2022
