    Performance of the CMS Level-1 trigger in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV

    At the start of Run 2 in 2015, the LHC delivered proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13\TeV. During Run 2 (years 2015–2018) the LHC eventually reached a luminosity of 2.1× 1034^{34} cm2^{-2}s1^{-1}, almost three times that reached during Run 1 (2009–2013) and a factor of two larger than the LHC design value, leading to events with up to a mean of about 50 simultaneous inelastic proton-proton collisions per bunch crossing (pileup). The CMS Level-1 trigger was upgraded prior to 2016 to improve the selection of physics events in the challenging conditions posed by the second run of the LHC. This paper describes the performance of the CMS Level-1 trigger upgrade during the data taking period of 2016–2018. The upgraded trigger implements pattern recognition and boosted decision tree regression techniques for muon reconstruction, includes pileup subtraction for jets and energy sums, and incorporates pileup-dependent isolation requirements for electrons and tau leptons. In addition, the new trigger calculates high-level quantities such as the invariant mass of pairs of reconstructed particles. The upgrade reduces the trigger rate from background processes and improves the trigger efficiency for a wide variety of physics signals

    Background: Systemic medicines for the treatment of acne (antibiotics, retinoids, oral contraceptives) frequently induce adverse events which result in dose reduction or treatment discontinuation and negatively influence treatment efficacy. Chronic application of topical agents may be associated with skin irritation and dermatitis. Thus, there is a constant need for new agents and therapeutic methods producing safe and effective treatment of this commonest skin disorder. Aim: To assess efficacy and tolerability of homeopathic medicine Loma Lux Acnemol in tablets. Materials and methods: 60 patients (age 18–35 years old) with mild and moderate acne were equally divided into two treatment and control groups. During 6 weeks, all patients received routine therapy of acne (sulphur preparations, vitamins, health-promoting therapies); in the treatment group, patients also received homeopathic medicine Loma Lux Acnemol (the dose depended on the body mass). Treatment efficacy criteria included severity of lesion hyperemia, regression of papular rash, absence of new elements and intensity of pain or burning sensation of the skin. Results: Adding Loma Lux Acnemol resulted in significantly better treatment efficacy compared to the routine therapy only: after 6 weeks, clinical improvement was registered in 16 (53.3%) and 6 (20%) patients in the treatment and control groups, respectively; clinical remission was induced in 5 (16.6%) and 7 (23.3%) patients, respectively; evident clinical improvement was absent in 9 (30%) and 12 (40%) cases, respectively. All patients treated with Loma Lux Acnemol reported good tolerability of the medicine; no adverse effects were observed. Conclusion: Homeopathic medicine Loma Lux Acnemol may be recommended for the treatment of mild and moderate acne in young patients.Актуальность. Препараты, применяемые в  лечении акне системно (антибиотики, ретиноиды, оральные контрацептивы), нередко вызывают побочные реакции, что приводит к уменьшению дозировок или отмене препарата и отрицательно сказывается на эффективности проводимой терапии. Активное применение наружных средств может сопровождаться раздражением и  дерматитами. В  этой связи продолжается постоянный поиск новых препаратов и терапевтических методик, направленный на повышение эффективности и  безопасности лечения этого самого распространенного заболевания кожи. Цель – исследование эффективности и переносимости гомеопатического таблетированного препарата Лома Люкс Акнемол. Материал и  методы. 60  пациентов с  акне легкой и средней степени в возрасте от 18 до 35 лет были распределены в 2  равные группы  – основную и контрольную. В течение 6 недель все пациенты получали рутинную терапию (препараты серы, витамины, общеукрепляющая терапия), а  пациенты основной группы дополнительно принимали гомеопатическое средство Лома Люкс Акнемол 1  раз в  сутки в  дозе, зависящей от массы тела. Эффективность лечения оценивалась по выраженности гиперемии в очагах поражений, регрессу папулезных высыпаний, отсутствию свежих элементов, интенсивности ощущений болезненности и жжения кожи. Результаты. Эффективность лечения в  группе, дополнительно получавшей Лома Люкс Акнемол, оказалась значимо выше, чем в  контрольной: к концу шестинедельного курса лечения клиническое улучшение зарегистрировано у 16 (53,3%) пациентов основной группы и толь- ко у 6 (20%) контрольной, клиническая ремиссия наступила у 5 (16,6%) и 7 (23,3%) больных, а отсутствие заметной положительной клинической динамики отмечено в 9 (30%) и 12 (40%) случаях соответственно. У  всех больных, получавших таблетки Лома Люкс Акнемол, наблюдалась хорошая переносимость препарата, побочные эффекты отсутствовали. Заключение. Гомеопатическое средство Лома Люкс Акнемол может быть рекомендовано для лечения акне легкой и  средней степени у  лиц молодого возраста

    Factors influencing the level of physical development of premature newborns

    Purpose: to assess the factors having impact on physical development of prematurely born children at birth. Materials and Methods. 1099 case histories of newborns, the exchanged cards of pregnant women, birth case histories of women who gave birth in gestational age from 22 to 37 weeks. Results. It has been shown that there are significant indices effecting premature birth affect: chronic inflammatory diseases of the oropharynx, gastrointestinal tract, diabetes, thyroid disease, pathology of vision, infectious diseases, skin diseases; sexually transmitted infections, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical erosion, genital infantilism; preeclampsia of the first and second half of pregnancy, chronic fetoplacental insufficiency, anemia, inflammatory diseases during pregnancy, acute respiratory viral infections, obesity, gestational diabetes and pyelonephritis; prenatal pouring out of amniotic fluid, umbilical cord pathology, cho-rioamnionitis. Defined correlation between weight and height indicators of premature infants at birth and groups of medicines that women have during their pregnancy. Conclusions. Identification of factors affecting the level of physical development of premature children is important in determination of women with a higher probability of birth of children with intrauterine development and for assessing the further development of these children

    Regional aspects of sectoral digitalization: Problems and prospects

    Purpose: At present, high and sometimes record indicators have been achieved for the individual branches of agricultural production. Further intensive development of agriculture is due to the search for new ways to increase labor productivity and lower production costs which is the main aim of this research. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodological basis served as a systematic approach, which ensured comprehensiveness and purposefulness. Analytical, abstract-logical, economic-statistical, monographic and experimental research methods were also used in this work to examine problems and prospects of sectoral digitalization. Findings: The agro-industrial complex demonstrates the growth of production indicators and is on the rise. The target indicators, laid down in the Food Security Doctrine, have already been achieved by many indices. To a large extent, it is due to a significant increase in the agro-industrial complex. Practical implications: A proposed platform that would ensure a breakthrough in further technical modernization of production, can be created only if the technologies are improved based on their digitalization and orientation towards a specific consumer. Originality/Value: The pin-point introduction of digital technologies in agricultural production confirms the high efficiency of the full innovative technical modernization. The proposed digital transformation of management in the agro-industrial complex of Russia is the value of this research with its originality compared to other ideas. © 2019 International Strategic Management Association.
