Soliton absorption spectroscopy
We analyze optical soliton propagation in the presence of weak absorption
lines with much narrower linewidths as compared to the soliton spectrum width
using the novel perturbation analysis technique based on an integral
representation in the spectral domain. The stable soliton acquires spectral
modulation that follows the associated index of refraction of the absorber. The
model can be applied to ordinary soliton propagation and to an absorber inside
a passively modelocked laser. In the latter case, a comparison with water vapor
absorption in a femtosecond Cr:ZnSe laser yields a very good agreement with
experiment. Compared to the conventional absorption measurement in a cell of
the same length, the signal is increased by an order of magnitude. The obtained
analytical expressions allow further improving of the sensitivity and
spectroscopic accuracy making the soliton absorption spectroscopy a promising
novel measurement technique.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures

The article is devoted to finding ways to solve the problem of providing housing for the population of Ukraine affected by the military conflict in Russia as soon as possible. The institutional preconditions and macroeconomic consequences of slowing down the implementation of the country's reconstruction projects are considered. An analysis of the proposals of leading economists set out in the Essay on the reconstruction of Ukraine. Three fundamental principles of ensuring effective recovery of the Ukrainian economy and reconstruction of damaged and destroyed housing are formulated and their essence is revealed. The author's proposals on the formation of temporary housing funds for internally displaced persons are substantiated and their contribution to restoring the balance of the primary housing market is proved. The causes of imbalances in the construction market of Ukraine are summarized. A methodical approach to the quantitative assessment of the price-quality ratio of housing in new buildings in Ukraine is proposed. 10 criteria were proposed to determine whether new homes meet market requirements. Within each of the criteria, gradation features were substantiated, which are measured in ordinal and nominal scales. A method for calculating the integrated quality indicator of facilities under construction based on data reduction by the method of main factors has been developed. The classification of housing supply in the primary real estate market according to the system of price - quality criteria, the methodological basis of which was neural network modeling using the Kohonen layer. Given the significance of the results obtained, the classification features that allow to separate those objects of market supply that have a low probability of sale in the next 6 to 12 months are justified. An easy-to-use algorithm for the formation of temporary housing funds for internally displaced persons from apartments-factors of market imbalances is proposed.
Polarizations, polarizabilities, and conformations of the aryl methyl disulfides
1. Each of the aryl methyl disulfides exists in skew conformation with a C-S-S-C dihedral angle of 70-90°. 2. The angle of rotation of the p-XC6H4, fragment relative to the plane of the Car-S-S bonds varies from molecule to molecule, depending on the nature of the X substituent. © 1977 Plenum Publishing Corporation
Conformation of unsymmetrical diaryl disulfides
1. In solution the unsymmetrical p-substituted diaryl disulfides have a skewed conformation with a dihedral angle of ∼80°. 2. The angles of rotation of the aryl fragments relative to the planes of the Car-S-S bonds in the molecules of different compounds depend on the nature of the p-substituents. © 1978 Plenum Publishing Corporation
Kerr constants and steric structure of acetylenic thio- and selenoethers
1. The axes of the polarizability ellipoids of the Csp-S and Csp-Se bonds were determined. 2. The steric structure of a number of acetylenic thio- and selenoethers p-XC6H4E-C≡CC6H5 was studied. The benzene ring attached to the triple bond is located in the plane of the {Mathematical expression} bonds, while the aromatic fragment attached to the heteroatom (S or Se) lies outside this plane by ∼30-40°. © 1979 Plenum Publishing Corporation

Striatal transcriptome of a mouse model of ADHD reveals a pattern of synaptic remodeling
Despite the prevalence and high heritability of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), genetic etiology remains elusive. Clinical evidence points in part to reduced function of the striatum, but which specific genes are differentially expressed and how they sculpt striatal physiology to predispose ADHD are not well understood. As an exploratory tool, a polygenic mouse model of ADHD was recently developed through selective breeding for high home cage activity. Relative to the Control line, the High-Active line displays hyperactivity and motor impulsivity which are ameliorated with amphetamine. This study compared gene expression in the striatum between Control and High-Active mice to develop a coherent hypothesis for how genes might affect striatal physiology and predispose ADHD-like symptoms. To this end, striatal transcriptomes of High-Active and Control mice were analyzed after mice were treated with saline or amphetamines. The pseudogene Gm6180 for n-cofilin (Cfl1) displayed 20-fold higher expression in High-Active mice corresponding with reduced Cfl1 expression suggesting synaptic actin dysregulation. Latrophilin 3 (Lphn3), which is associated with ADHD in human populations and is involved in synapse structure, and its ligand fibronectin leucine rich transmembrane protein 3 (Flrt3), were downregulated in High-Active mice. Multiple genes were altered in High-Active mice in a manner predicted to downregulate the canonical Wnt pathway. A smaller and different set of genes including glyoxalase (Glo1) were differentially regulated in High-Active as compared to Control in response to amphetamine. Together, results suggest genes involved in excitatory synapse regulation and maintenance are downregulated in ADHD-like mice. Consistent with the molecular prediction, stereological analysis of the striatum from a separate set of mice processed for imunohistochemical detection of synaptophysin revealed approximately a 46% reduction in synaptophysin immunoreactivity in High-Active relative to Control. Results provide a new set of molecular targets related to synapse maintenance for the next generation of ADHD medicines

The organization effective work and implementation of its strategic development in providing high safety level is impossible without a staff competences formation life-long process. The acquired competence will not allow you to achieve your goals, if the people who possess them, are not interested in effective applying the competencies. Therefore, the personnel motivation system development problem is actual for improving the efficiency of their work. The complex analysis and system approach, the scientific generalization method, the expert evaluations method, the mathematical modeling methods were used in this study. The foreign and national authors works were analyzed for the purpose of stimuli classification and the stimulation principles generalization. The stimulation system optimization method was proposed using the paired interconnects relations incentives principle. This will allow to make the unification or differentiation stimuli decision, which increases the efficiency of incentives system and professional competencies formation. This technique was used in the incentive systems formation in OAO “Samaraneftegaz”.
