Occupational Therapy’s Role in Early Language Development of Babies and Young Children
Occupational therapy practitioners in their interactions with babies, young children and their families, can be change-agents who promote rich language environments as a foundation to social interactions, social participation and academic successes. OTPs may be the sole provider working with a family or may reinforce with families the plan of care developed by speech-language pathologists (SLP) or early intervention teachers. The first step for OTPs is deeper knowledge of the importance of early language exposure, social interaction and participation development in young children and approaches that promotes rich language environments

Efficacy of alternative seating on attention, in-seat behavior, and occupational performance in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Currently, there is one systematic review conducted by Gochenour and Poskey7 that synthesize current research evidence regarding alternative seating for students with attention difficulties. A limitation of this review, as noted by the authors, is a lack of a consistent definition of attention difficulty in the studies they included. A systematic review focused on a specific, well-defined diagnosis will better contribute to practice recommendations since these recommendations will be tailored to a clear and comprehensive understanding of the child’s attentional and occupational challenges. The review also included studies of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).7 While those with ASD may also have difficulties with attention, in-seat behavior and occupational performance, the underlying mechanism yielding these symptoms may be different than in children with ADHD. Thus, alternative seating may not work in the same way for children with ASD as it would for children with ADHD.7 Thus, a systematic review is needed to examine the evidence from all current studies regarding alternative seating on improving attention, in-seat behavior and occupational performance in students with ADHD to increase evidence-based practice in the field of occupational therapy
A Systematic Review of the Efficacy of Motivational Interviewing on Occupational Performance
This systematic review aims to review the efficacy of MI to address such performance goals falling within the occupational therapy scope of practice
REVIEW AND REALIGNMENT OF THE NAVY’S IN-SERVICE, CONVENTIONAL ORDNANCE LOGISTICS SUPPLY CHAIN (NAVSUP AMMUNITION LOGISTICS CENTER)
The purpose of the research conducted was to identify the main contributing factor for inaccurate inventory validity within the ordnance community. Our research question addresses the current organizational structure of the ordnance supply chain and its overall effectiveness by evaluating the leading cause for discrepancies of inventory validity throughout the fleet. Our methods included gathering data from 12 months of overaged intransit messages, researching current organizational structures for ordnance stakeholders, and examining instructions governing supply chain processes.
Our results produced data which illustrated that on average $34.2M of ordnance was overaged and not accounted for each month. It was determined that the unaccounted ordnance is the number one cause of unfavorable inventory validity.
We recommend that by reorganizing the ordnance supply chain under one overarching command, inventory validity can be increased by creating positional authority from a singular source, eliminating competing interests and decreasing ambiguity from separate authorities. Additionally, realigning the command structure enables oversight for standardization of business practices within one streamlined organization.Lieutenant Commander, United States NavyLieutenant Commander, United States NavyLieutenant Commander, United States NavyApproved for public release. Scattering of Glueballs and Mesons in Compact in Dimensions
We study glueball and meson scattering in compact gauge theory in
a Hamiltonian formulation and on a momentum lattice. We compute ground state
energy and mass, and introduce a compact lattice momentum operator for the
computation of dispersion relations. Using a non-perturbative time-dependent
method we compute scattering cross sections for glueballs and mesons. We
compare our results with strong coupling perturbation theory.Comment: figures not included (hard copy only), LAVAL-PHY-94-05,

A Systematic Review: Light Therapy for Individuals with Dementia and Implications for Practice
This systematic review seeks to answer the question: is light therapy an effective intervention for sundowning symptoms experienced by individuals who have dementia
THE EFFECTS OF CONSTRAINING OPENSIM INVERSE KINEMATICS TO A BONE PIN MARKER DEFINED RANGE
The aim of this study was to apply bone pin kinematic constraints to an OpenSim model to determine differences in knee joint kinematics and kinetics beween the constrained and unconstrained solutions. In vivo data from healthy, anterior cruciate ligament deficient and reoonstructed patients completing a forward jump lunge were combined with bone pin data from a past study to redefine ranges that the knee degrees of freedom were constrained to. Differences between the constrained and unconstrained solutions existed for all participants at various points of the jump lunge movement, especially at the time of impact. Soft tissue artifact was most apparent in transverse plane translations. In conclusion, musculoskeletal modelling based solely on surface marker positions is inherently affected by soft tissue artifact and thus, results from these analyses should be interpreted with caution
