Since it is new, it lacks the necessary promotion tool to reach the institutions and companies. In fact, The Alana does not have the promotion tool which emphasizes its excellence and uniqueness of the products. To solve the problem, The Alana needs a marketing booklet, which can help them to show their strengths. This marketing booklet consists of table of contents, company overview (about The Alana), product descriptions (hotel rooms, room types, hotel facilities, and meeting rooms), and contact information (contact us).     Evaluation of Water Infiltration Equations on Fadama Soils of Jos – North, Plateau State, Nigeria

    The main purpose of this study is to obtain water infiltration parameters of the Fadama Soils on the Jos Plateau. Estimation of water infiltration on a soil is a major constraint due to its variability depending on local soil characteristics. This could be used in simulating infiltration for the Fadama soils when designing agricultural projects. Field measurement of infiltration were made using the double ring infiltrometer at the three locations (Rizek, Kerker and Shen – du) on the Jos Plateau. Readings were taken at intervals of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 65,70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100,105,  110, 115 and 120minutes. A set of field measured cumulative infiltration depths were used for the estimation of the model parameters for the five models, while the other set was used in simulating the infiltration equations. At Rizek, Horton and NCRS model performed better (0.997) followed by Philip’s model (0.973) while Kostiakov and modified Kostiakov’s model have the least value of 0.923 each. Philip’s model has the best fit (1.00) followed by the NCRS’s model (0.999) at Kerker while the Kostiakov and modifiedKostiakov’smodel had 0.997 each and Horton with the least value (0.986). At Shen – du, Kostiakov and modified Kostiakov performed better (0.997), then, Horton with (0.986), NCRS has 0.993 with Philip’s model having the least value (0.991).The study indicate that Kostiakov, Philip, Horton, NCRS and Modified Kostiakov’s models were capable of simulating infiltration for the Fadama soils (Rizek, Kerker and Shen – du) on the Jos, Plateau.     Introduction: Patients with terminal kidney failure report limitations and physical changes, psychological functions, weaknesses that have a negative effect on health status and a decrease in survival. Progress in dialysis technology and disease management still raises many complaints both physically and psychologically by increasing the mortality rate of patients undergoing hemodialysis. In 2008, there were about 1.75 million patients worldwide who regularly received kidney replacement therapy in the form of dialysis, about 1.55 (89%) million underwent hemodialysis (HD) and around 197,000 (11%) used peritoneal dialysis ( PD) Purpose: This study is to explore the experience of hemodialysis patients with physical changes and emotional turmoil. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to reveal broadly and deeply about the causes and things that influence the occurrence of something. Method: exploration is carried out with the aim of digging deeper into the existing elements to obtain specific information that influences the pattern of life behavior of patients from aspects of sexuality. Results: The results of the study found two categories of themes, namely: (1) Physical changes and physical complaints: black facial skin, damaged teeth, thin body, weak body, and fatigue quickly. (2) Feeling and emotional turmoil is felt: not accepting and fearing death, feeling helpless and useless, apologizing and suggesting that the couple remarry. Conclusion: the exploration experience of physical changes and emotional turmoil of hemodialysis patients is influenced by physical, physiological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects as well as values, cultures that exist in the lives of participants

    Dislocation Dynamics in an Anisotropic Stripe Pattern

    The dynamics of dislocations confined to grain boundaries in a striped system are studied using electroconvection in the nematic liquid crystal N4. In electroconvection, a striped pattern of convection rolls forms for sufficiently high driving voltages. We consider the case of a rapid change in the voltage that takes the system from a uniform state to a state consisting of striped domains with two different wavevectors. The domains are separated by domain walls along one axis and a grain boundary of dislocations in the perpendicular direction. The pattern evolves through dislocation motion parallel to the domain walls. We report on features of the dislocation dynamics. The kinetics of the domain motion are quantified using three measures: dislocation density, average domain wall length, and the total domain wall length per area. All three quantities exhibit behavior consistent with power law evolution in time, with the defect density decaying as t−1/3t^{-1/3}, the average domain wall length growing as t1/3t^{1/3}, and the total domain wall length decaying as t−1/5t^{-1/5}.     Mass Culturing of Stem and Bulb Nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) for use in screenÄ°ng and Ä°mpression Training on Carrot Discs

    Stem and bulb nematode, Ditylenchus dipsaci, is a very important plant parasitic nematode, has a very wide host range and causes economic yield losses in many cultural plants in worldwide. Its races are very diverse and found in most temperate areas of the world. D. dipsaci is a migratory endoparasite, has the ability to enter into a dormancy stage. Genetic resistance offers one of the best control methods within the integrated pest management strategies for D. dipsaci. However mass rearing of stem and bulb nematode requires for the resistant studies including screening for this nematode species. The aim of study is focused on alternative rearing methods using carrot discs as a food source, culturing medium and provide a clearly outlined and visually informative guide. Carrot discs enable the rearing of high numbers of individuals of D. dipsaci for timely use in experiments and for screening purposes in under sterile conditions to provide a clean, same and pure source of inoculum. The carrot disc method has been shown to be suitable for stem and bulb nematode multiplication

    Incidence of vulvovaginal candidiasis associated with Candida albicans among pregnant women attending Gombe State Specialist Hospital, Gombe, Nigeria

    Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a common cause of vaginitis during pregnancy. It is a source of great physical and psychological discomfort as well as suffering. Samples of endocervical and high vaginal swab were collected from 150 women attending Gombe specialist hospital and were inoculated on Saboraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) incorporated with  Chloramphenicol to rid the culture of bacterial contaminants. Gram’s staining technique and Germ tube test were employed for the identification, as, Candida albicans is positive for both. The gram positive ones were 132 (88%) and were also subjected to germ tube test. 18 (12%) were found to be gram negative. Of the gram positive ones, 120 (91%) were also positive for germ tube test; confirming the presence of Candidaalbicans. Antifungal susceptibility testing revealed that Ketoconazole was more effective at concentrations of 20, 50 and 100ìg/disc with zones of inhibitions of 18.50, 23.50 and 35.50mm respectively, than Griseofulvin (Fulcin) with only 26.00mm zone of inhibition at 100ìg/disc concentration.Keywords: Vulvovaginal, Endocervical, High vaginal swab, Antifungal susceptibility, Candida albicans

    We study the electron motion near magnetic field steps at which the strength and/or sign of the magnetic field changes. The energy spectrum for such systems is found and the electron states (bound and scattered) are compared with their corresponding classical paths. Several classical properties as the velocity parallel to the edge, the oscillation frequency perpendicular to the edge and the extent of the states are compared with their quantum mechanical counterpart.     The effect of aqueous extracts of Hibiscus sabdariffa (Sorrel) calyces on heamatological profile and organ pathological changes in Trypanasoma congolense – infected rat

    The effects of aqueous extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa calyces on haematology and pathological changes in some selected organs during experimental Trypanosoma congolense infection of rats were investigated. Three groups of rats were intraperitoneally infected with T. congolense (Karu stock). One group was administered with the aqueous extract and another given a solution of vitamin C in drinking water; the remaining infected group was left untreated. Data from these groups were compared with those of two groups of healthy rats, one of which was similarly treated with the aqueous extract. The experiment was terminated three weeks, post-infection (pi).
