Isoperiodic deformations of the acoustic operator and periodic solutions of the Harry Dym equation

We consider the problem of describing the possible spectra of an acoustic operator with a periodic finite-gap density. We construct flows on the moduli space of algebraic Riemann surfaces that preserve the periods of the corresponding operator. By a suitable extension of the phase space, these equations can be written with quadratic irrationalities.Comment: 15 page

The Caspian seal, Pusa caspica, is an ice-breeding phocid endemic to the Caspian Sea. The breeding behavior of this species is poorly documented. Here, we report behavioral observations of 518 mother-pup pairs and 210 lone pups, made from the bridge of icebreakers traversing seal breeding grounds while servicing oil installations in the northeastern Caspian Sea, during 34 trips from late January to early March, 2006-2012. The breeding habitat of Caspian seals is land-fast or drift ice, usually at least 20 cm thick, overlying water 3–5 m deep. Pregnant females formed pairs or small groups. They were not observed to use lairs, but preferentially pupped beside ice ridges or ice-slab piles that afforded shelter to pups. In years when there were few natural leads into the ice-field, females often gave birth on the edge of artificial leads formed by shipping channels. Pups were categorized into stages from newborn (1), white-coat (2), molting (3), and molted (4), with Stage 3 and 4 pups appearing from mid to late February. The nursing period lasted at least 3 weeks and neighboring mother-pup pairs appeared to be mutually tolerant. Mothers left their pups alone or at nursery sites, presumably to forage. Most white-coat pups moved over the ice while avoiding water in response to disturbance from vessels. Mother-pup pairs maintained contact while moving across the ice by a combination of the pup’s following response and diligent chaperoning by the mother. During disturbances some lone pups sought refuge in shelters under ice slabs, whereas others followed a neighboring mother-pup pair away from the vessel. Male-female pairing occurred in late season with no male-male competition observed on the ice. While breeding and pup rearing behavior of Caspian seals has some features in common with that of other Holarctic seals, it is largely distinct and adapted to the unique conditions of the Caspian environment, in particular the paucity of snow cover on the ice

Basic peculiarities of nonlinear Kalman filtering algorithm applied to processing of interferometric signals are considered. Analytical estimates determining statistical characteristics of signal values prediction errors were obtained and analysis of errors histograms taking into account variations of different parameters of interferometric signal was carried out. Modeling of the signal prediction procedure with known fixed parameters and variable parameters of signal in the algorithm of nonlinear Kalman filtering was performed. Numerical estimates of prediction errors for interferometric signal values were obtained by formation and analysis of the errors histograms under the influence of additive noise and random variations of amplitude and frequency of interferometric signal. Nonlinear Kalman filter is shown to provide processing of signals with randomly variable parameters, however, it does not take into account directly the linearization error of harmonic function representing interferometric signal that is a filtering error source. The main drawback of the linear prediction consists in non-Gaussian statistics of prediction errors including cases of random deviations of signal amplitude and/or frequency. When implementing stochastic filtering of interferometric signals, it is reasonable to use prediction procedures based on local statistics of a signal and its parameters taken into account

CIinicodiagnostic researches included. 73 patients with dysplastic coxarthrosis who were examined and treated in orthopedic ward of Scientific Center of Reconstructive and. Restorative Surgery SB RAMS during 2001-2010 years. The aim. of the research is to specify clinic-radiologic criteria of hip joint with dysplastic changes at the arthrosis of III-IV degree. The diagnosis was set on the basis of clinicodiagnostic criteria. The main signs that characterize dysplastic joint were: anteversion of femoral neck; deflection of acetabulum anterior from sagittal plane; disorder of center of the head in horizontal plane; change of cervical-diaphyseal angle and. the angulation of acetabulum (more than 60°). Acetabulum becomes shallow and. head's embedding into it is Iess than 1/3 (1/2 as a norm). Main clinical manifestations of all examined patients were bending-adduction and rotation contractures of hip joints, shortening of extremities concerned with pathoIogic process, stabIe pain syndrome, gross Iimping with disorder of support function of extremity and Iocomotor act of waIking. In aII 73 patients we reveaIed. different disorders of anatomic interreIations of components of hip joint that are typicaI for grave forms of dyspIastic coxarthrosis. Ensuring of stabiIity of an impIant is extremeIy important at totaI hip joint repIacement. Prediction of measures of postoperative compIications prevention that allow to determine right tactics of operative treatment is the first to reaIize. If the indices of dyspIasia (ratio between thickness of acetabuIum's bottom and its depth) at dyspIastic coxarthrosis of III-IV degree is Iess than 0,6, it's possibIe to predict appearance of instabiIity of hip component of an impIant. VaIues of these indices can be used for forming impIant bed at the pIacing of impIant cup without additionaI ways of fixation

© Research India Publications. This article deals with peculiarities of design that are taken into consideration during practical development of complex information systems, made on the basis of web technologies, in particular during development of web applications. This article covers the majority of development aspects from the position of different methodologies of web applications design and lists design peculiarities differences in comparison with programme means that do not use web technologies. Web application architecture design according to block and modular principle is suggested. The main programme block will be responsible for users’ authorization, session provision, request of enclosed modules, connection to database and similar service functions. Administrative module will allow managing sets of modules, features of web applications, change informational content. It is also suggested that services of web application are designed according to modular principle as the ones that have their own managing modules and modules of data processing (working modules). Peculiarity of the suggested methodology is that the modules are made in the form of separate files that execute their own specific function and work strictly with their own tables in database. It is suggested to use traditional approach when creating a web application. It is connected with presence of a big number of different relational database control systems supported by web servers. Initially on the stage of database design datalogical models are being developed. They are oriented on data storage and processing environment. The difference of the suggested graphic interface is that navigation in the web application is managed by the user who may execute previously permitted actions on random following his way in navigating the interface. The method described in the article is used in web applications development for automated informational systems of diesel engines trials

Individual variation in seasonal movements and foraging strategies of a land-locked, ice-breeding pinniped

Marine mammal satellite telemetry studies can provide important tests of movement and foraging theory. Here we present the first satellite tracking study of Caspian seals (Pusa caspica), an endangered, ice-breeding phocid seal, endemic to the Caspian Sea. The Caspian Sea is one of the most variable habitats inhabited by any pinniped species, and lacks competing large piscivores. Under such conditions foraging theory predicts individual variation in foraging strategy may develop to reduce intra-species competition. We deployed 75 Argos satellite tags 2009-2012 on adult seals of both sexes, and used State Space Modelling to describe movement, and behavioural states. During winter in all years most individuals were mobile within the icepack, making repeated trips into open water outside the ice field, with only brief stationary periods that may be related to breeding activity. During summer 2011, 60% of tagged animals migrated into the mid and southern Caspian, while the remainder spent the ice free season in the north. Summer foraging locations were not restricted by proximity to haul out sites, with animals spending more than 6 months at sea. Maximum dive depths exceeded 200m, and maximum duration was greater than 20 minutes, but 80% of dives were shallower than 15m and shorter than 5 minutes. Hierarchical cluster analysis identified 3 distinct groups of summer dive behaviour, comprising shallow, intermediate and deep divers, which were also spatially exclusive, suggesting potential niche partitioning and individual specialisation on prey or habitat types. The results can contribute to assessment of impacts from anthropogenic activities and to designation of protected areas encompassing critical habitats

Background. The participation of immune responses in the pathogenesis of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the synovial joints determines the feasibility of using more rational approaches to assessing the immune status of patients with this pathology. Despite the ongoing immunological studies in patients with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the hip joint, there are questions related to the functioning of the immune system as a whole, which require additional research. The aim of the study was to establish the features of the relationship between the indicators of the immune status and to identify the factors that determine the nature and severity of immunological disorders in patients with coxarthrosis.Material and methods. The study is based on the results of immunological parameters in 73 patients (mean age – 45.3 ± 2.56 years) with stage III dysplastic coxarthrosis. The data obtained using cluster analysis made it possible to distribute patients into two groups. The first clinical group included 46 patients, the second one – 27 patients. The control group consisted of 28 clinically healthy individuals. Mathematical processing of the results was carried out using the Statistica 6.0 software package (StatSoft Inc., USA) and the mathematical package Mathcad 2001 Pro (MathSoft Inc., USA).Results. The levels of CD4+ and CD8+ cells and IgA were determined as the classification features that make the greatest contribution to the division of the studied groups. Model experiments have shown that a specific combination of the magnitude of each of the noted factors with a certain degree of probability makes it possible to assess the state of the initial immunological reactivity and verify the nature and severity of immunological disorders.Conclusion. The information obtained is of great importance, since it allows predicting the course of the recovery period after surgery and assessing the risk of developing possible postoperative complications in patients with severe articular pathology

Background. The dynamic balance between the immune and neuroendocrine systems and their mutual regulation provide the formation of protective reactions of the body in conditions of pathology and various stress-inducing effects. The aim of the research was to establish the nature of the relationship between the indicators of the immune status and hormonal profile in patients with coxarthrosis before and after hip replacement.Material and methods. The study involved 73 patients with stage HI dysplastic coxarthrosis, who, using cluster analysis according to immunological parameters, were divided into two groups. The first clinical group included 46 patients, the second - 27 patients. The control group consisted of 28 clinically healthy individuals.Results. In the preoperative period, correlations between indicators of the immune status and hormonal profile were different in patients of the 1st and 2nd groups and depended on the level of hormones. Moreover, in patients of the 1st group, the hormones of the stress-limiting system made the greatest contribution to this dependence, and in patients of the 2nd group - peripheral thyroid hormones. After endoprosthetics, the correlation dependence in patients of the 1st group differed from the initial one in a number of indicators of the immune status and hormonal profile, which reflects the coordinated work of these body systems under the influence of stress factors. In patients of the 2nd group, the spectrum of these indicators was limited, which indicates the failure ofmechanisms, in particular, limiting the intensity ofinflammatory reactions after surgery.Conclusion. The relationship of the studied parameters in patients of the 1st group indicates the adaptive nature of the immune and endocrine reactions in response to surgery. In patients of the 2nd group, they reflect disadaptive rearrangement, which leads to an increased risk of postoperative complications

© 2017. The purpose of this article is determining the sociocultural features of adjustment of Chinese students to study in Russian universities. The expansion of bilateral economic relationship between Russia and China has led to a growing interest of Chinese young people towards receiving higher education in Russian universities. Simplified procedure of admission of foreign students leads to complication of their cultural adjustment to a new sociocultural environment. The article presents the results of sociological survey of Chinese students studying in the technical university. It is concluded that the transition of a foreign student to a new society is accompanied by culture shock. Symptoms of culture shock and phases of cultural adjustment process are highlighted in the present article on the bases of K.Oberg methodology. According to U-curve cultural adjustment model proposed by Lysgaard S., the adapting person overcomes three main phases: initial adjustment, crisis state, and final adjustment. The analysis of the conducted survey has confirmed that adjustment to a new culture takes place according to the U-curve by Lysgaard. Determination of ways to solve the problem of foreign students' adjustment to study in Russian universities is associated by the author with the identification of sociocultural characteristics of a specific country. It is revealed that the peculiarities of adjustment of Chinese students to study in Russian universities include sociocultural, psychological, and didactic features. In this connection, it is necessary to determine the extent of the impact of these characteristics on the adjustment process of Chinese students
