    Using the Advantages of NOSQL: A Case Study on MongoDB

    With such a big volume of data growing tremendously every day, the storage of information, support and maintenance have become difficult. A further level of difficulty is added by the variety of data being captured. The data stored and updated on daily bases is in the form of logs, audio, video, sensor data and so on, which is not easy to be stored and queried using relational database. The paper gives the overview of NOSQL databases which provide more scalability and efficiency in storage and access of the data. A case study on MongoDB is done as to show the representational format and querying process of NOSQL database. The concepts of MongoDB are compared to the relational databases

    Acute BVDV infection inhibits expression of interferon-stimulated genes during pregnancy recognition in bovine endometrium

    Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) can evade host detection by downregulation of interferon signaling pathways. Infection of cows with noncytopathic (ncp) BVDV can cause early embryonic mortality. Upregulation of type I interferon stimulated genes (ISGs) by blastocyst-secreted interferon tau (IFNT) is a crucial component of the maternal recognition of pregnancy (MRP) in ruminants. This study investigated the potential of acute BVDV infection to disrupt MRP by modulating endometrial ISG expression. Endometrial cells from 10 BVDV-free cows were cultured and treated with 0 or 100 ng/ml IFNT for 24 h in the absence or presence of ncpBVDV infection to yield four treatment groups: CONT, ncpBVDV, IFNT, or ncpBVDV+IFNT. ncpBVDV infection alone only upregulated TRIM56, but reduced mRNA expression of ISG15, MX2, BST2, and the proinflammatory cytokine IL1B. As anticipated, IFNT treatment alone significantly increased expression of all 17 ISGs tested. In contrast to the limited effect of ncpBVDV alone, the virus markedly inhibited IFNT-stimulated expression of 15 ISGs tested (ISG15, HERC5, USP18, DDX58, IFIH1, IFIT1, IFIT3, BST2, MX1, MX2, RSAD2, OAS1Y, SAMD9, GBP4, and PLAC8), together with ISG15 secreted protein. Only TRIM56 and IFI27 expression was unaltered. IL1B expression was reduced by the combined treatment. These results indicate that acute ncpBVDV infection may decrease uterine immunity and lead to MRP failure through inhibition of IFNT-stimulated endometrial ISG production. This in turn could reduce fertility and predispose cows to uterine disease, while evasion of the normal uterine immune response by ncpBVDV may contribute to maintenance and spreading of this economically important disease

This project presents the feasibility of usage of Quarry Rock Dust as30%, 40% & 50% substituent for conventional concrete and compare with plane concrete having grade M20 & M25. The compressive strength of compressed concrete compare for 7 day & 28th days. Due to this project work we can optimise the natural sand replacing waste quarry dust.     Mid-infrared detection in p-GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures with a current blocking barrier

    For the infrared detection in the 3-5 μm range, p-GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs heterojunction is an attractive material system due to light hole/heavy hole and spin-orbit split-off intra-valance band transitions in this wavelength range. Varying the Al mole fraction (x) provides the tuning for the wavelength threshold, while graded AlxGa1-xAs potential barriers create an asymmetry to allow a photovoltaic operation. The photovoltaic mode of operation offers the advantage of thermal noise limited performance. In our preliminary work, a 2 - 6 μm photovoltaic detector was studied. Implementation of an additional current blocking barrier improved the specific detectivity (D∗) by two orders of magnitude, to 1.9×1011 Jones at 2.7 μm, at 77K. At zero bias, the resistance-area product (R0A) had a value of ∼ 7.2×108 Ω cm2, which is five orders higher in magnitude (with a corresponding reduction of the responsivity by only a factor of ∼ 1.5), compared to the R0A value without the blocking barrier.     Two Gallium data sets, spin flavour precession and KamLAND

    We reexamine the possibility of a time modulation of the low energy solar neutrino flux which is suggested by the average decrease of the Ga data in line with our previous arguments. We perform two separate fits to the solar neutrino data, one corresponding to 'high' and the other to 'low' Ga data, associated with low and high solar activity respectively. We therefore consider an alternative to the conventional solar+KamLAND fitting, which allows one to explore the much wider range of the θ12\theta_{12} angle permitted by the KamLAND fitting alone. We find a solution with parameters Δm212=8.2×105eV2,tan2θ=0.31\Delta m^2_{21}=8.2\times 10^{-5} eV^2, tan^{2}\theta=0.31 in which the 'high' and the 'low' Ga rates lie far apart and are close to their central values and is of comparable quality to the global best fit, where these rates lie much closer to each other. This is an indication that the best fit in which all solar and KamLAND data are used is not a good measure of the separation of the two Ga data sets, as the information from the low energy neutrino modulation is dissimulated in the wealth of data. Furthermore for the parameter set proposed one obtains an equally good fit to the KamLAND energy spectrum and an even better fit than the 'conventional' LMA one for the reactor antineutrino survival probability as measured by KamLAND.Comment: V2: 15 pages, 3 eps figures, fit improved, final version to appear in Journal of Physics

    Functional outcome of arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament tear using peroneus longus tendon autograft

    Background: The objective of the study was to evaluate the functional outcome of arthroscopic reconstruction of ACL tear using triple layered PLT autograft and to study its effect on ankle stability.Methods: The study included 25 patients. The range of age was 18-42 years. Pre-op clinical tests and MRI was done to confirm tear. Reconstruction was done arthroscopically. Physiotheraphy protocol was fixed for all patients. Final outcome was assessed at 6 months using IKDC score and ankle stability was assessed by grading muscle power (MRC grading) with the normal side as control.Results: IKDC score was normal or near normal in 21 patients and only 4 patients were rated as abnormal or severely abnormal. Mean IKDC Score was 83.53. Stability of the ACL was assessed using the Lachman test: normal in 18 cases (72%), 1+ laxity in 5 cases (20%), 2+ and 3+ in 1 case (4%) each. Pivot shift was negative in 15 cases (60%), Pivot glide was seen in 9 cases (36%) and gross pivot shift was seen in 1 patient. Partial meniscectomy of the medial meniscus was performed in 5 patients. No patient experienced ankle dysfunction however 2 patients had pressure pain in the region of the graft harvest.Conclusions: PLT graft is similar to the native ACL both in terms of thickness and strength. It can be an appropriate autograft option for ACL reconstruction without compromising ankle function and avoiding potential complications of hamstring and BPTB autograft obtained from the knee region
