Can Ω−→Ξ−γ\Omega^- \to \Xi^- \gamma be sensitive to new physics beyond the Standard Model ?

We investigate the impact of new physics beyond the Standard Model to the s→dγs \rightarrow d \gamma process, which is responsible for the short-distance contribution to the radiative decay \Otogamma. We study three representative extensions of the Standard Model, namely a one-family technicolor model, a two Higgs doublet model and a model containing scalar leptoquarks. When constraints arising from the observed b→sγb \to s \gamma transition and the upper limit on D0−Dˉ0D^0 - \bar{D}^0 mixing are taken into account, we find no significant contributions of new physics to the s→dγs \to d \gamma process.Comment: 9 pages, RevTex, no figure

    Quantum open systems and turbulence

We show that the problem of non conservation of energy found in the spontaneous localization model developed by Ghirardi, Rimini and Weber is very similar to the inconsistency between the stochastic models for turbulence and the Navier-Stokes equation. This sort of analogy may be useful in the development of both areas.Comment: to appear in Physical Review
