A kukorica toxintermelő gombás megbetegedéseinek 2013. évi bemutatása két termőhely adatait felhasználva
A kukoricánál kontinentális éghajlaton a kórokozók közül a legjelentősebb problémát a Fusarium és az Aspergillus nemzetség fajai
jelentik. Megfertőzik a csöveket, ami a termésveszteségeken túl, az általuk termelt mikotoxinok miatt komoly veszélyeket jelentenek humán- és
állategészségügyi szempontból is. A Fusarium spp. nem csak a kukoricacsövet támadják meg. A növény szárát megtámadva, a növény idő
előtti elhalása miatt egyrészt gyengébb lesz a szemtelítődés, ami kicsi, könnyű csöveket okoz. Másrészt a szárkorhadás által okozott veszteség
a szártörés és dőlés miatt be nem takarítható termésből adódó betakarítási veszteség. A vizsgálatot 24 FAO400 éréscsoportba tartozó
hibriddel, 2013-ban végeztük, két termőhelyen (Bicsérd, Sárhatvan). A kísérletet két ismétlésben állítottuk be, egyedenkénti
A vizsgált tulajdonságok
esetében a termőhelynek volt meghatározó szerepe. Az idei év időjárása inkább a fuzáriumos szárkorhadás kialakulásának kedvezett. A
| In a continental climate, the pathogens causing the most serious problems are species belonging to the Fusarium and Aspergillus genus.
They infect the ears, which – beside reducing the yield – poses considerable risk to both human and animal health due to the mycotoxins
produced by them. The Fusarium spp. not only damage the maize ears. When the pathogen attacks the stalk, the plant dies earlier, reducing
grain filling and resulting in small, light ears. In addition, the stalks break or lodge, resulting in further yield losses from ears that cannot be
harvested. The study was conducted on 24 maize hybrids in the FAO400 maturity group, in 2013 and at two locations (Bicsérd, Sárhatvan).
The experiment was set up in two repetitions. Corn borer infestation was determined by visual examination of each plant, while Fusarium
and Aspergillus infection was assessed on the basis of mycelium mass on ears. The data obtained this way were evaluated using two-variable
linear regression analysis. In terms of the parameters examined, the production site had a determining effect. The weather of 2013 rather
favoured the development of Fusarium stalk rot. The infection caused by ear-damaging fungi producing mycotoxins was more severe in
Bicsérd, while stalk Fusarium showed stronger infection in Sárhatvan. In accordance with our results, positive correlation was found
between Fusarium ear rot and the infestation of corn borers
Studies on the maize cold tolerance tests in the Martonvásár phytotron
The climatic conditions in Hungary and in the countries to which seed is exported
makes the study of maize cold tolerance and constant improvements in the cold tolerance
of Martonvásár hybrids especially important. An improvement in the early spring cold
tolerance of maize would allow it to be grown in more northern areas with a cooler
climate, while on traditional maize-growing areas the profitability of maize production
could be improved by earlier sowing, leading to a reduction in transportation and drying
costs and in diseases caused by Fusarium sp. The recognition of this fact led Martonvásár
researchers to start investigating this subject nearly four decades ago. The phytotron has
proved an excellent tool for studying and improving the cold tolerance of maize. The
review will give a brief summary of the results achieved in the field of maize cold
tolerance in the Martonvásár institute in recent decades

Adrenergic innervation of the rat hypothalamus
The adrenergic innervation of the hypothalamus was studied by measuring hypothalamic adrenaline levels following surgical transection of the lower brain stem or electrolytic lesion of the medullary adrenaline-containing cell groups. The adrenaline levels in some hypothalamic nuclei and in the median eminence showed a slight decrease after partial transection of the medulla oblongata, whilst there was a pronounced decrease (by 59–78%) 7–10 days following total hemisection or unilateral lesion of the C1-catecholaminergic cell group in the medulla oblongata
