The Influence of Hospitality Leaders’ Relational Transparency on Followers’ Trust and Deviance Behaviors: Mediating Role of Behavioral Integrity
This paper investigates the effect of leader\u27s relational transparency on follower organizational deviance through followers’ perception of leader\u27s behavioral integrity and their trust in leader. Multi-level modeling results from a multisource survey-based field-study with 24 hospitality student project teams (N = 149) show that behavioral integrity mediates the relationship between leader\u27s relational transparency and follower\u27s trust in leader. Furthermore, multi-level path analysis suggests that leader\u27s relational transparency, a team-level construct, exerts a cross-level effect on follower\u27s organizational deviance through the mediating roles of behavioral integrity and follower\u27s trust in leader. The study has yielded theoretical and practical implications that are useful for hospitality leaders. © 201
A Rate-Splitting Based Bound-Approaching Transmission Scheme for the Two-User Symmetric Gaussian Interference Channel with Common Messages
This paper is concerned with a rate-splitting based transmission strategy for the two-user symmetric Gaussian interference channel that contains common messages only. Each transmitter encodes its common message into multiple layers by multiple codebooks that drawn from one separate code book, and transmits the superposition of the messages corresponding to these layers; each receiver decodes the messages from all layers of the two users successively. Two schemes are proposed for decoding order and optimal power allocation among layers respectively. With the proposed decoding order scheme, the sum-rate can be increased by rate-splitting, especially at the optimal number of rate-splitting, using average power allocation in moderate and weak interference regime. With the two proposed schemes at the receiver and the transmitter respectively, the sum-rate achieves the inner bound of HK without time-sharing. Numerical results show that the proposed optimal power allocation scheme with the proposed decoding order can achieve significant improvement of the performance over equal power allocation, and achieve the sum-rate within two bits per channel use (bits/channel use) of the sum capacity
Up Sector of Minimal Flavor Violation: Top Quark Properties and Direct D meson CP violation
Minimal Flavor Violation in the up-type quark sector leads to particularly
interesting phenomenology due to the interplay of flavor physics in the charm
sector and collider physics from flavor changing processes in the top sector.
We study the most general operators that can affect top quark properties and
meson decays in this scenario, concentrating on two CP violating operators
for detailed studies. The consequences of these effective operators on charm
and top flavor changing processes are generically small, but can be enhanced if
there exists a light flavor mediator that is a Standard Model gauge singlet
scalar and transforms under the flavor symmetry group. This flavor mediator can
satisfy the current experimental bounds with a mass as low as tens of GeV and
explain observed -meson direct CP violation. Additionally, the model
predicts a non-trivial branching fraction for a top quark decay that would
mimic a dijet resonance.Comment: 27 pages, 7 figure
The 2HDM-X and Large Hadron Collider Data
We study the consistency of two Higgs doublet models in light of the new
bosonic particle discovery at the LHC. We work within a general setup that we
call the 2HDM-X, in which the quarks couple to both scalar doublets with
aligned couplings such that flavor-changing neutral currents are absent at tree
level. The 2HDM-X encompasses the traditional Type I, Type II, lepton specific,
and flipped models, but also provides for more general possibilities. The best
fit to the current data with a suppressed tau tau signal and a b bbar signal of
Standard Model strength is given by the 2HDM-X with specific parameter choices;
however, very good fits are also obtained within the lepton-specific model and
a democratic model, the 2HDM-D, in which both the up-type and down-type quarks
couple to each doublet with equal strengths. The approach provides a general
framework in which to interpret future LHC Higgs data within extensions of the
Standard Model with two Higgs doublets.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Statistical Signal Analysis for Systems with Interferenced Inputs
A new approach is introduced, based on statistical signal analysis, which overcomes the error due to input signal interference. The model analyzed is given. The input signals u sub 1 (t) and u sub 2 (t) are assumed to be unknown. The measurable signals x sub 1 (t) and x sub 2 (t) are interferened according to the frequency response functions, H sub 12 (f) and H sub 21 (f). The goal of the analysis was to evaluate the power output due to each input, u sub 1 (t) and u sub 2 (t), for the case where both are applied to the same time. In addition, all frequency response functions are calculated. The interferenced system is described by a set of five equations with six unknown functions. An IBM XT Personal Computer, which was interfaced with the FFT, was used to solve the set of equations. The software was tested on an electrical two-input, one-output system. The results were excellent. The research presented includes the analysis of the acoustic radiation from a rectangular plate with two force inputs and the sound pressure as an output signal
