A Wider Europe: Trade Relations Between an Enlarged EU and the Russian Federation

This paper aims to study the joint effects of the 2004 EU Enlargement and Russia’s entry into the WTO, and the effects of an eventual Russia-Enlarged EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The paper is organized as follows: in Section I, it starts with the brief description of the model used. The effects of the 2004 EU Enlargement are estimated on Section II. In Section III, the effects of Russia’s WTO Accession are simulated up on the benchmark of an Enlarged EU. Section IV simulates different Russia-EU FTAs, again upon the benchmark of an Enlarged EU. An Initial Estimation of the Economic Effects of the Creation of the EurAsEC Customs Union on Its Members

This note provides an initial estimation of some of the economic effects of creating the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) customs union. A etnografia em concurso administrativo a “monografia etnográfica” em Timor Português em 1948

A relação da antropologia com o empreendimento colonial português tem sido objeto de estudos recentes. Todavia, pouco se sabe ainda sobre o papel da etnografia no ensino e na formação de pessoal colonial, quer na metrópole, quer no terreno colonial. Neste artigo, analisam-se dois aspetos relacionados a este tema com referência ao caso de Timor Português. Em primeiro lugar, considera-se a institucionalização do ensino de etnografia, no quadro da formação de pessoal colonial na Escola Superior Colonial na primeira metade do século XX; em segundo lugar, considerando que nem todos os funcionários coloniais tinham formação na Escola Superior Colonial, analisa-se a forma como um saber etnográfico era efectivamente produzido no terreno por este, no âmbito de processos administrativos de avaliação. Alive art and the end of spectacle

O texto esboça a tese de que há um declínio do termo espetáculo, tanto em seu sentido de uso corrente, quanto na sua viabilidade como expressão das diversas formas de articulação da presença humana na arte. Para isso, sugere que a atividade artística ao vivo, nos países colonizados, constitui a base das sociedades da presença (Gumbrecht 2018), antes mesmo da chegada do invasor. O reconhecimento dessa diferença pode ser um ingrediente fundamental para promover a descolonização da arte nesses territórios, apontando possibilidades que propiciam o abandono de um modelo europeu da arte e do mundo (sociedades do sentido/da interpretação).This article outlines the thesis that there is a decline in the term spectacle both in its current sense of use and in terms of its viability as an expression of the various forms of articulation of human presence in art. For this purpose, I suggest that live artistic activity, in colonized countries, constitutes the foundation of societies of presence (Gumbrecht), even before the arrival of the invaders. Recognizing this difference can be a fundamental ingredient to promote the decolonization of art in these territories, pointing to possibilities that favor the abandonment of a European model of art and the world (societies of meaning/interpretation)
