Simulation of propranolol as antihypertensive agent on hyperglicaemic rabbit

Diabetic and hypertention are two common deseases on older people one of fat soluble antihypertensive drugs is propanolol. There for is a study this undertakento observe how propanolol can reduce the blood sugar. This study used 12 male rabbits, divided into 4 grroups. Each group consisted 3 rabbits. The first group was used as negative control (given EDTA sodium liquid 1 % w/v). The second group was the treated group (given EDTA sodium suspension 1.% w/v and propranolol tablet suspension 0,006.% w/v). The third group also the treated group (given EDTA sodium suspension 1% and propranolol tablet suspension 0,02 % w/v). The fourth group was the positive control (given EDTA sodium liquid 1 % w/v only). Blood glucose level was measured before and after treatment by using spektrophotometer (578 nm). The result showed that colloidal CMC sodium liquid 1 % w/v lowered blood glucose level (not significant as 0,7 mg/dL). EDTA sodium liquid 1 % w/v + propranolol suspension 0,006 % w/v significantly lowered blood glucose level as 5,3 mg/dL, EDTA sodium liquid 1 % w/v + propranolol suspension 0,02% w/v also lowered the blood glucose level as 21,7 mg/dL, EDTA sodium liquid 1 % w/v significantly giving the effect on the increasing blood glucose level as 17,4 mg/dL.Key words : Propranolol, glucose, rabbi

The study had been done about the correlation test betweenblood uric acid level, and urine uric acid cristal. The objective of this study was to find the correlation betweenblood uric acid level, and urine uric acid cristal. This studywas an observational study with cross sectional approach using serum and urine samples were taken from patients who have met the criteria of the study sample. The samples number are36 that all of them analyzed with test blood uric acid, and urine uric acid cristal.The data of result was processed and analyzed with statistic test of correlation test. The results of study showed that there are correlation between blood uric acid level and urine urine uric acid, that the more uric acid cristal exrated viaurine will make to reduce blood uric acid level

kajian farmakokinetika dan Biovailabilitas Senyawa Aktif Viteksikarpin Hasil Isolasi Ekstrak Daun Vitex Trifolia L Pada Tiga Spesies Mamalia

Tanaman legundi (vitex trifolia L, sinonim V. rotundifolia, Suku verbenaceae) merupakan tanaman tropis yang telah dibuktikan aktivitasnya untuk gangguan saluran pernafasan. Senyawa aktif trakeospasmolitik dari tanaman ini adalah viteksikarpin. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan kajian farmakokinetik dan bioavailabilitas senyawa aktif viteksikarpin pada tiga jenis hewan mamalia. Ekstrak n-heksan dipartisi dan difraksinasi dengan kromatografi kolom vakum menggunakan fase dian silica gel F254 dengan eluen n-heksana:aseton dengan polaritas meningkat dan diperoleh beberapa fraksi. Fraksi F5 selanjutnya dimumikan dengan teknik kromatorfi lapis tipis preparative. Isolat yang diperoleh dibandingkan data fisiko-kimianya dengan senyawa pembanding viteksikarpin. Selanjutnya fraksi F5 yang telah diketahui kadar viteksikarpin diberikan secara peroral dengan dosis 40 mg/kg BB pada setiap jenis hewan uji yang digunakan. Hasil analisis kuantitatif F5 viteksikarpin dalam plasma kemudian dibuat kurva konsentrasi vs waktu untuk menghitung parameter farmakokinetikanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter farmakokinetika pada setiap hewan uji memilki perbedaan pada semua fase. Prediksi dosis pada manusia tidak dapat dilakukan karena tidak ada hubungan linear antara log bobot badan dengan parameter fisiolog
