The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for facilitating customer on eCommerce websites to do financial contributions to an appropriate donation drive provided by a merchant. The system includes a merchant, a customer, payment network, a donation drive enabler, and a payment interface. The customer on purchasing through a merchant application initialize a transaction and probes the donation drive enabler to retrieving a donation drive created using the rules engine and display it to the customer on the merchant application. The customer may donate a certain amount to the donation drive while doing the checkout process in the merchant application. The payment network facilitates the payment transaction between the issuer - merchant and issuer - charity partner through a payment interface which transfers funds to multiple accounts (merchant account and charity partner account) simultaneously. Thereby, enabling the customers to participate in a merchant’s CSR initiatives

Nuclear CaMKII enhances histone H3 phosphorylation and remodels chromatin during cardiac hypertrophy.

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) plays a central role in pathological cardiac hypertrophy, but the mechanisms by which it modulates gene activity in the nucleus to mediate hypertrophic signaling remain unclear. Here, we report that nuclear CaMKII activates cardiac transcription by directly binding to chromatin and regulating the phosphorylation of histone H3 at serine-10. These specific activities are demonstrated both in vitro and in primary neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Activation of CaMKII signaling by hypertrophic agonists increases H3 phosphorylation in primary cardiac cells and is accompanied by concomitant cellular hypertrophy. Conversely, specific silencing of nuclear CaMKII using RNA interference reduces both H3 phosphorylation and cellular hypertrophy. The hyper-phosphorylation of H3 associated with increased chromatin binding of CaMKII occurs at specific gene loci reactivated during cardiac hypertrophy. Importantly, H3 Ser-10 phosphorylation and CaMKII recruitment are associated with increased chromatin accessibility and are required for chromatin-mediated transcription of the Mef2 transcription factor. Unlike phosphorylation of H3 by other kinases, which regulates cellular proliferation and immediate early gene activation, CaMKII-mediated signaling to H3 is associated with hypertrophic growth. These observations reveal a previously unrecognized function of CaMKII as a kinase signaling to histone H3 and remodeling chromatin. They suggest a new epigenetic mechanism controlling cardiac hypertrophy

    Characterization Of DAC

This dissertation presents about characterization of Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). It is included a theory, problem facing, problem solving, characterization techniques, results and lastly conclusion. DAC chip used here for characterization process was ICM7363 Quad 12 bit from IC Microsystems (ICmic). ICM7363 is a serial digital input type of DAC. In order for the DAC to work properly, serial data input, clock signal, chip select signal and clear signal are needed. 8051 microcontroller board was built for data generation and as well as all the signal needed in order to activate the DAC. In this project 8051 microcontroller circuit were combined with DAC circuit and a set of switches. There are 17 switches available. One of these switches used as a test functionality switch. Function of this switch is to indicate whether the DAC is working or not. Other 16 switches used as data input of DAC. 8051 microcontroller was programmed to read the condition of all those switches and then generate signals to the DAC. DAC is then producing an analog output that is proportional with digital input value. The program was written in assembly language. This program was then compiled and burnt into ROM. Program start running whenever supply is connected. The output produced by the DAC is then can be measured and characterized. Measuring tool used here is digital mutimeter. From the output, DAC parameters such as resolution, accuracy, offset error, full-scale error, differential non-linearity, integral non-linearity, full scale range, settling time, maximum conversion rate and signal-to-noise ratio can be characterize. Resolution of the DAC is shown by plotting a histogram of the output. Typical output value for adjacent input is 0.01V. This is the DAC resolution. DNL and INL of DAC are shown by plotting a graph of the output. From here, ideal value and measured value can be compared. DNL and INL are approximately 1LSB for intermediate voltage that is around 2V and 3V. It is more than 1LSB when it comes to bigger voltage. Actually there is no certain quantitative value to describe this. Other parameters result such as full scale range is 4.68V, offset error is 0.010V and gain error is 93.6%. This measurement can be performed by applying an appropriate data input. The value can be shown quantitatively. From measurement, we conclude that this DAC is a very high resolution and accuracy. The project shows a good result and succeeds to achieve its objective

Novel Marine Compounds: Anticancer or Genotoxic?

    Get PDF
In the past several decades, marine organisms have generously gifted to the pharmaceutical industries numerous naturally bioactive compounds with antiviral, antibacterial, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer potentials. But till date only few anticancer drugs (cytarabine, vidarabine) have been commercially developed from marine compounds while several others are currently in different clinical trials. Majority of these compounds were tested in the tumor xenograft models, however, lack of anticancer potential data in the chemical- and/or oncogene-induced pre-initiation animal carcinogenesis models might have cost some of the marine anticancer compounds an early exit from the clinical trials. This review critically discusses importance of preclinical evaluation, failure of human clinical trials with certain potential anticancer agents, the screening tests used, and choice of biomarkers

Irrigating Horticultural Crops with Recycled Water: An Australian Perspective

    Get PDF
Access to water has been identified as one of the most limiting factors in economic growth of Australia's horticultural sector. Water reclaimed from wastewater (sewage) is being increasingly recognized as an important resource and agricultural sector is currently the largest consumer of this resource. An overview of the Australian experience of using reclaimed wastewater to grow horticultural crops is presented in this paper: from regulations governing it and treatment processes, to management and risk-minimization practices that ensure this resource is used in a sustainable manner, not impacting adversely human health or environment. A case study covering socio-economic and environmental implications of recycled-water irrigation is also presented

Existing works on battery-less of energy harvesting systems often assume as a high efficiency of rectifier circuit for power management system. In practice, rectifier circuit often varies with output power and circuit complexity. In this paper, based on a review of existing rectifier circuits for the energy harvesters in the literature, an integrated rectifier with boost converter for output power enhancement and complexity reduction of power management system is implemented through 0.18-micron CMOS process. Based on this topology and technology, low threshold-voltage of MOSFETs is used instead of diodes in order to reduce the power losses of the integrated rectifier circuit. Besides, a single switch with the duty-cycle control is introduced to reduce the complexities of the integrated boost converter. Measurement results show that the realistic performances of the rectifier circuit could be considerably improved based on the performances showed by the existing study

Dolichos lablab exists both as a field and as a garden variety. The latter has evolved out of the former. The downward hairs (H) in the internodes of the garden variety are a simple dominant to the upward hairs(h) of the field variety. Erect pods (E1, E2 or E1E2) are dominant to drooping pods (e 1 e 2). Two factors exist, either of which or both might give erect pods. In the absence of both, pods droop. Pods of medium width (W1) proved dominant to pods of narrow width (w1). In narrow podded garden varieties the septate (S) condition of the pods proved dominant to the non-septate (s) bloated condition. In field varieties all pods are green in colour. In garden varieties pods may also be light green in colour. This difference is reflected in the whole plant. The normal green colour (Ca) is a simple dominant to the light green (ca )
