    Steady and Unsteady Analysis of NACA 0018 Airfoil in Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine

    Numerical results are presented for aerodynamic unsteady and steady airfoil characteristics of the NACA 0018 airfoil of a two-dimensional vertical-axis wind turbine. A geometrical model of the Darrieus-type wind turbine and the rotor operating parameters used for numerical simulation are taken from the literature. Airfoil characteristics are investigated using the same mesh distribution around the airfoil edges and two turbulence models: the RNG k-ε and the SST Transition. Computed results for the SST Transition model are in good agreement with the experiment, especially for static airfoil characteristics

Jednocześnie w wyniku ogromnego postępu, jaki dokonał się w chirurgii serca, można operować chorych ze znacznymi obciążeniami. Jednak należy pamiętać, że zabieg operacyjny jest tylko jednym z elementów całego procesu leczenia. Powodzenie terapii zależy nie tylko od sprawnie przeprowadzonej operacji, ale również od przygotowania chorego do zabiegu oraz całego skomplikowanego procesu prowadzenia pooperacyjnego, gdy chory jest narażony na liczne powikłania. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcono bardzo istotnemu w całym procesie leczenia kardiochirurgicznego elementowi - przygotowaniu pacjenta do zabiegu. Artykuł jest adresowany przede wszystkim do lekarzy zajmujących się pacjentami ze wskazaniami do operacji kardiochirurgicznej i w przekonaniu autorów pomoże lepiej zrozumieć istotę i powagę tego elementu leczenia

    URANS and ACM for determining the aerodynamic performance of vertical-axis wind turbine

    This paper presents numerical results of a one-bladed vertical axis wind turbine using the k-ε RNG turbulence model. The rotor geometry was developed based on the research report available on the literature. The obtained results of aerodynamic blade loads and wake profiles downstream behind the rotor are in a good agreement with the experiment. This paper presents also the ability of calculating fluid flow parameters around the operating wind turbine by using the original approach – the actuator cell model (ACM)

    This paper presents numerical results of the DU-91-W2-250 airfoil. Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) simulations of the 2D profile are performed employing the Transient SST turbulence model. The airfoil was investigated for the Reynolds number of 6 106. Lift and drag coefficients are compared with the experimental data from LM Low Speed Wind Tunnel (LSWT). The results of lift and drag coefficients obtained using the SST Transient model are in a good agreement in comparison with the experiment in the angle of attack range from -10° to 10°. The static pressure distributions calculated by the SST Transition model are also in good agreement with the experiment

    The purpose of the study was to identify factors which influence bank-firm relationships in Poland, herein identified with relationship banking. The results of empirical analysis have demonstrated that Polish firms readily establish single-bank relationships. The results of the econometric model, on two data panels, enabled verification of hypotheses concerning the determinants of relationship banking in Poland from the perspective of characteristics of firms, their crediting banks and macroeconomic environment. On the part of firms, the factors whose influence has been identified include: size, profitability, the manner of financing, investment activity, innovativeness, form of ownership, credit risk and facility size. On the part of the financial sector, the verification covered the influence of competition in the banking sector, competition on the part of the capital market and development of the banking sector. The study also concerned the impact of the business cycle on relationship banking in Poland. The study utilised panel data from different sources: B0300 report (NBP) in years 1997–2010, F-01/I-01 report (Central Statistical Office (GUS)) in years 2005–2010 and other aggregated data (NBP, WSE)
