During the preparation of my article Local Customs in the Formulas of Sales of Wine forFuture Delivery (ZPE 94 [1992] 167-184), I also studied SB XVI 12401. Thanks to the reallocation of some fragments, several readings could be emendated. The new readings justified a reissue of this text, which I submit here

P.Vindob. G 31701 verso: A Prefectural (?) Hypographe

The text on the recto of P.Vindob. G 31701 was published, together with adescription of the papyrus and notes on the text, by M. C. E. Mineur-van Kassen inP.David (= P.Lugd. Bat. XVII) 7: lnstruction to track down murderers (OxyrhynchiteNome, 28. ii. 258 or 259 A. D.)

Millel- bis dunkelbrauner, unvollständig erhaltener Papyrus, jetzt in zwei Teile zerbrochen. Die Ränder sind oben, rechts und rechts unten erhalten; der linke Rand i t  bis auf ein kleines Stück bei Z. 7-9 abgebrochen
