Test Procedures for Synchronized Oscillators Network CMOS VLSI Chip

The paper presents test procedures designed for application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) CMOS VLSI chip that implements a synchronized oscillator neural network with a matrix size of 32×32 for object detecting in binary images. Networks of synchronized oscillators are recently developed tool for image segmentation and analysis. This paper briefly introduces synchronized oscillators network. Basic chip analog building blocks with their test procedures and measurements results are presented. In order to do measurements, special basic building blocks test structures have been implemented in the chip. It let compare Spectre simulations results to measurements results. Moreover, basic chip analog building blocks measurements give precious information about their imperfections caused by MOS transistor mismatch. This information is very usable during design and improvement of a special setup for chip functional tests. Improvement of the setup is a digitally assisted analog technique. It is an idea of oscillators tuning procedure. Such setup, oscillators tuning procedure and segmentation of a sample binary image are presented

Electrophilic Benzylation of the Pyridine Ring; a Charge Sensitivity and MNDO Study

The sensitivity of carbon and nitrogen atoms in two structures of 2- benzylaminopyridine (I,II) and its cations (III,IV) to an electrophilic agent attack were investigated in order to determine which are responsible for its 5-benzyl and AT-benzyl derivative formation in the reaction with benzyl cation. For predicting the most sensitive centres, net atomic charges and HOMO electron density plots were calculated by the MNDO-method, as well as the Fukui function (FF) indices and relaxed chemical potentials of atoms-in- molecules (AIM) within a charge sensitivity (CS) scheme. The analysis indicates that only in structures I and II the sensitivity of the carbon and nitrogen atoms explains the experimental facts. The analysis also shows that 2-benzylaminopyridine cations (m and IV) did not participate in the 5-benzyl and IV-benzyl derivatives of 2-benzylaminopyridine formation. Their presence in the reaction mixture influenced the formation and stabilization of the benzyl cation

Zakrzepica żyły wrotnej po zabiegu rękawowej resekcji żołądka u 32-letniej kobiety z otyłością patologiczną

Portal vein thrombosis after laparoscopic procedures is an uncommon complication, but potentially life threating. Possible etiologic factors include venous stasis due to increased intra-abdominal pressure, intraoperative manipulation, or damage to the splanchnic endothelium and systemic thrombophilia states. We describe a case of a 32 year old morbidly obese patient, qualified for surgical treatment of obesity. After a laparoscopic gastric resection — a sleeve gastrectomy — on the 20th day after hospital discharge, the patient was re-admitted to the surgical ward due to uncharacteristic abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and increased cholestasis indicators. The patient was diagnosed with portal system thrombosis. Following the treatment the patient achieved complete remission of symptoms. Given a growing number of laparoscopic procedures, we may expect an increasing number of similar complications. This condition needs to be considered in patients with unexplained abdominal pain after several laparoscopic procedures.Zakrzepica żyły wrotnej po zabiegach laparoskopowych jest rzadkim powikłaniem, ale potencjalnie zagrażającym życiu. Do rozwoju zakrzepicy predysponują liczne czynniki, jak zastój żylny z powodu zwiększonego ciśnienia w jamie brzusznej, śródoperacyjna manipulacja wewnątrzotrzewnowa, uszkodzenie śródbłonka naczyń trzewnych oraz trombofilią. Opisujemy przypadek 32-letniej pacjentki z patologiczną otyłością zakwalifikowaną do chirurgicznego leczenia otyłości. Po laparoskopowej resekcji rękawowej żołądka, w 20. dniu po wypisie ze szpitala, pacjentka została ponownie przyjęta na oddział chirurgiczny ze względu na nietypowe bóle brzucha, nudności, wymioty i podwyższenie wskaźników cholestazy. U pacjentki stwierdzono zakrzepicę żyły wrotnej. Po wdrożeniu leczenia zachowawczego uzyskano całkowitą remisję objawów. Biorąc pod uwagę rosnącą liczbę zabiegów laparoskopowych, należy spodziewać się zwiększenia częstości występowania podobnych powikłań. Powinno się o tym zawsze pamiętać u pacjentów z niewyjaśnionymi bólami brzucha poddanych procedurom laparoskopowym

Ars sarmatica, czyli Sarmacja a sztuka. Zarys problemu

The author of the article considers the perspectives of studying Polish Renaissance and Baroque art in terms of its relationship to the phenomenon known as “Sarmatism”. He points to the lack of a clear definition of this concept and its poor research usefulness. Similar problems occur with the phrase “Sarmatian art”, for which there are no meaningful distinguishing criteria. However, in the area of Polish art, there are artistic works and phenomena that are particularly closely related to the cultural distinctiveness of the former Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. In the author’s opinion, this is the proper ars sarmatica – “Sarmatian art”. A short list of examples of works that can be included in this category follows. These are, among others: the mausoleum of the Czarnkowski family in Czarnków, the iconographic program of the courtyard of the Krzyżtopór castle in Ujazd, the painting of the so-called “Homage of the Moscow tsars” from the mid-17th century (coming from an unknown magnate residence in the south-eastern borderlands of Poland), a Polish variant of the iconographic type rex armatus, an image of the election of King Stanisław August by Bernardo Bellotto (from the Royal Castle in Warsaw), and finally drawings by Jan Piotr Norblin showing Polish sejmiks.Autor artykułu rozważa perspektywy badania nowożytnej sztuki polskiej pod kątem jej stosunku do zjawiska zwanego „sarmatyzmem”. Wskazuje na brak jasnej definicji tego pojęcia i jego nikłą użyteczność badawczą, podobnie jak sformułowania „sztuka sarmacka”, dla której wyodrębnienia brak właściwych kryteriów. Istnieją jednak w obszarze polskiej sztuki nowożytnej dzieła i zjawiska artystyczne szczególnie związane z kulturową odrębnością dawnej Rzeczypospolitej. W przekonaniu autora to właśnie jest właściwa ars sarmatica – „sztuka sarmacka”. Następuje krótkie wskazanie kilku przykładowych dzieł sztuki, które do tego zbioru można zakwalifikować.
