Celebrities used as endorsers in advertising are often very popular ones. However, from a cognitive point of view (and more academic one), congruence between brand and celebrity seems to be very important too. Based on affective and cognitive theories to explain endorsement efficiency, congruence between brand and celebrity is shown to be at least as effective as celebrity likability. Moreover the predisposition toward the ad and brand beliefs are mediators of the effects of congruence between brand and celebrity and celebrity likability on ad efficiency.likability; celebrity endorsement; advertisement; congruence; attitude;

La congruence est un concept utilisé dans de nombreux courants de recherche, notamment l’extension de marque, le parrainage ou la publicité. Cette communication vise à démontrer l’intérêt de considérer ce concept selon les deux dimensions définies par Heckler et Childers (1992), à savoir la pertinence et le côté attendu, dans le cas de publicités faisant appel à des célébrités. Une échelle de mesure, adaptée des travaux de Fleck-Dousteyssier, Darpy et Roux (2005) sur le parrainage, est proposée et testée empiriquement.The concept of congruence has been used in many research streams like brand extensions, sponsorship, or advertising. This paper aims to show the interest of considering this concept through the two dimensions proposed by Heckler and Childers (1992): relevancy and expectancy, in the case of celebrity endorsers in advertising. In order to measure this concept, we will then develop and empirically test a scale adapted from the works of Fleck-Dousteyssier, Darpy and Roux (2005) on sponsorship.endossement; celebrities; advertising; endorsement; congruence; célébrités; publicité;

Photodimerization as an alternative to photocrosslinking of nanoparticles: proof of concept with amphiphilic linear polyoxazoline bearing coumarin unit

No full text
International audiencePhotosensitive amphiphilic linear polyoxazolines (CoumC 11-POx n) bearing alkyl chain decorated by a UV-active coumarin end group have been synthesized by cationic ring-opening polymerization (CROP). Using DLS and DOSY NMR experiments, their self-assemblies in water were compared with those of homologous photo-unreactiveamphiphilic polyoxazolines (C m-POx n). In both cases, spherical nanoparticles with D H-values around 10 nm were observed. The CoumC 11-POx n nanoparticles were illuminated upon 300 nm inducing the photo-dimerization of the coumarin units located in theinnercompartment of the nanoparticles. Finally, the pros and the cons of the photo-dimerization of linear copolymersrelated to the photo-crosslinking of graft copolymerswere discussed

BACKGROUND : The 2019 ASVCP Education Committee Forum for Discussion, presented at the annual ASVCP/ACVP meeting, identified a need to develop recommendations for teaching laboratory quality management principles in veterinary clinical pathology residency training programs. OBJECTIVES : To present a competency-based framework for teaching laboratory quality management principles in veterinary clinical pathology residency training programs, including entrustable professional activities (EPAs), domains of competence, individual competencies, and learning outcomes. METHODS : A joint subcommittee of the ASVCP Quality Assurance and Laboratory Standards (QALS) and Education Committees executed this project. A draft guideline version was reviewed by the ASVCP membership and shared with selected ACVP committees in early 2022, and a final version was voted upon by the full QALS and Education Committees in late 2022. RESULTS : Eleven domains of competence with relevant individual competencies were identified. In addition, suggested learning outcomes and resource lists were developed. Domains and individual competencies were mapped to six EPAs. CONCLUSIONS : This guideline presents a framework for teaching principles of laboratory quality management in veterinary clinical pathology residency training programs and was designed to be comprehensive yet practical. Guidance on pedagogical terms and possible routes of implementation are included. Recommendations herein aim to improve and support resident training but may require gradual implementation, as programs phase in necessary expertise and resources. Future directions include the development of learning milestones and assessments and consideration of how recommendations intersect with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists training program accreditation and certifying examination.http://www.wileyonlinelibrary.com/journal/vcphj2023Companion Animal Clinical Studie

Background: In people with schizophrenia, major areas of everyday life are impaired, including independent living, productive activities, social relationships and overall quality of life. Enhanced understanding of factors that hinder real-life functioning is vital for treatments to translate into more positive outcomes. Aim: The goal of the present study was to identify factors associated with motivation deficits in real-life schizophrenia, and to assess its contribution to impaired functioning and quality of life. Methods: Based on previous literature and clinical experience, several factors were selected and grouped into factors potentially explaining motivation deficits. Some of these variables were never investigated before in relationship with motivation deficits. Results: In 561 patients with schizophrenia of the national FACE-SZ cohort living in the community, 235 (41.9%) reported severe motivation deficits. These deficits were found to be significantly associated with impaired socially useful activities, psychological and physical quality of life (in almost all domains), alcohol use disorder (aOR = 2.141, p = 0.021), severe nicotine dependence (aOR = 2.906, p < 0.001) independently of age and sex. No significant association was found for body mass index, metabolic syndrome or physical activity level. In the second model, we identified the following modifiable factors associated with motivation deficits: history of suicide attempt (aOR = 2.297, p = 0.001), positive symptoms (aOR = 1.052, p = 0.006), current major depressive episode (aOR = 2.627, p < 0.001), sleep disorders (aOR = 1.474, p = 0.024) and lower medication adherence (aOR = 0.836, p = 0.001) independently of gender, current alcohol use disorder, second-generation antipsychotics and akathisia. No significant association was found for negative symptoms, childhood trauma and inflammation. These results were maintained after removing patients with schizoaffective disorders or those with major depressive disorder. Interpretation: Motivation deficits are frequent and remain persistent unmet need in real-world schizophrenia that should be addressed in future guidelines. Based on our results, literature and clinical experience, we recommend to address in priority major depression, sleep, suicide, positive symptoms (when present and as early as possible) and medication adherence to improve motivation deficits of schizophrenia. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Three photo-responsive amphiphilic copolymer architectures (diblock, triblock and heterografted) based on polyoxazoline and coumarin photo-sensitive units are studied in this work. These copolymers self-assemble in water into spherical or ovalic nanoparticles and also supramicrometer helicoidal nanofibers. Depending on the macromolecular architectures, these morphologies are induced by crystallization of coumarin units or polyoxazoline-coumarin interactions. Moreover, the nanoparticle photo-response is examinated after the UV-exposure of coumarin units, that are able to reversibly dimerize according to the wavelength used. This photo-response varies with the copolymer structure and leads to (previous) photo-dimerization or photo-crosslinking phenomena. These latters present various photo-reversibility behaviors under UV and a maximal efficiency for triblock copolymers. The nanoparticle stability was additionally studied before and after UV-irradiation. In both cases, the nanoparticle stability is improved towards time and temperature with a maximal impact for the previous photo-dimerization (triblock). Finally, the crosslinking and the crystallization appear as brakes for the hydrophobic molecule entrapment, illustrated here by Nile Red, whereas diblock copolymers seem to be the most efficient systems. To conclude, previously photo-dimerized nanoparticles (triblock) are the best way combining stability, UV-efficiency and entrapment

No full text

Moi non plus : Exploring the Diversity and Strength of Fan-Idol Relationships in the Field of Music

No full text
Abstract The objective of our research is to investigate fandom from a psychological perspective. As a departure from previous research relying on a sociological approach, we focus on the nature and strength of fan-idol relationships. To this end, this study reports the findings from qualitative research carried out in the field of music on how fandom is expressed through fans' interactions with their favourite singer/band, its associated significations and behaviour. We identify four significations: the musician as a brand, as a public personality, as an intimate and as a god. We highlight that fandom is initially an individual phenomenon whereby an individual creates a specific relationship with a musician, and that all fans can be considered valuable consumers independently from the relationship's strength

No full text
