Three new Uropodina species (Trichouropodella taiwanica, Uroobovella kozari and Uroobovella ornamenta spp. nov.) are described and illustrated from specimens collected in a Tawanese Cryptomeria japonica (L. F.) D. Don plantation. The genus Trichouropodella is recorded for the first time in Taiwan

In this paper six Uropodina species are presented from Costa Rica. Two of them, Oplitis pecki Hirschmann, 1991 and Uroobovella faceta Hiramatsu & Hirschmann, 1978 are already known, however the other four species; Rotundabaloghia unisetosa, Trigonuropoda caudosetosa, Brasiluropoda costaricana and Cyllibula forroi spp. nov. proved to be new to science. Oplitis peckisimilis Hirschmann, 1991 and O. ellipsioides Hirschmann, 1991 are synonymized with O. pecki

Two new Uropodina mite species are described and illustrated on the basis of specimens collected in a Pinus radiata D. Don plantation in Kenya. The first species, Trichouropoda mahnerti sp. n. differs from the other species in this genus on the basis of the setae association with oval pits on dorsal and ventral surface, the surface of genital shield and the setae length on the marginal shield. The second species Rotundabaloghia (Circobaloghia) perreti sp. n. differs from the other East African members of the subgenus Circobaloghia in the shape and sculptural pattern of genital shield and the positions of the ventral setae. New keys to the Eastern Afrotropical species of the subgenus Circobaloghia and genus Trichouropoda are given

Soil and leaf-litter samples of several agroecosystems (banana, cacao, coffee, and Monterey pine plantations) in Ecuador were investigated regarding soil dwelling Uropodina. Short notes are given on the plantations and on the recorded mite species with description of a species new to science; Clivosurella zicsii sp. nov. Furthermore, diagnosis of the genus Clivosurella Hirschmann, 1979 is presented with a new key to the known species
