Oral microbiota and systemic disease

The oral cavity is has been resided by thousands of species of microorganisms, which remaining in different relationships. Disturbing the balance between microorganisms and host immunity can lead to the development of many serious local conditions, as well as changes in the organs placed away from the head and neck region. This article describes serious complications of local oral cavity infections like - exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary, brain abscesses, infective endocarditis, diabetes mellitus, and even sepsis. The article also shows the potential connections between periodontal tissue inflammation and neurodegenerative disorders or cancer placed in distant organs. During treatment of periodontal patients, the physician should remember about the influence and risk of bacterial oral diseases

The role of essential oils in oral hygiene - a review of the literature

Due to increasing of resistance of the microorganisms which causes periodontitis, mucositis - essential oils - source known from antiquity, may be helpful. Extracted from plants essential oils (EO of the selected plants) - contain in selected oils, can reduce the amount of pathogens in the mouth and help the action of antibiotics and other active components used in the prevention and the treatment of oral diseases. Essential oils are widely used: to reduce the formation of the plaque which is a biofilm produced by bacteria on the surface of hard tooth tissues. Dental plaque contributes to the development of periodontitis and tooth decay. The article contains an overview of the most popular essential oils and analysis of the results of the long-term studies on the effectiveness of mouthwashes containing essential oils. Aim of the article: Determination of the range of use the essential oils in various fields of dentistry and determination the actual effectiveness of essential oils in reducing plaque based on available researches

HUMAN CANCER DISEASES WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON LEUKEMIAS. CHARACTERISTIC, CLASSIFICATION AND CURRENT TREATMENT METHODS

Tumors belong to a group of diseases in which cells divide without limit, in an uncontrolled manner in the body. In my work I would like to focus on the characteristics of cancer, particularly for leukemia. In the first chapter I present the characteristics of tumors, so their: construction, development, growth and describe the symptoms of cancer and its causes. The second chapter introduces the classification of tumors according to tissue type, which undergo transformation.Another chapter is devoted to the characterization of leukemias. In this part I pay attention to the basic methods of diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The last part contains the description of modern anti-cancer therapy. This is an important part in my work. It shows the problem, which is finding a method that would provide a total curability of cancer. I also presented the latest discoveries in medicine: research on protein PML experience with the use of RNA molecules that imitate viruses and plastics capsules containing RNA. The results of these studies are encouraging, but show that the way to full success is far .Nowotwory należą do grupy chorób, w których komórki dzielą się bez ograniczeń, w sposób niekontrolowany przez organizm. W mojej pracy chciałabym skupić się na charakterystyce chorób nowotworowych, a w szczególności na białaczce.W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiam cechy charakterystyczne dla nowotworów, a więc ich transformację, budowę, rozwój, wzrost, a także opisuję ich objawy chorób i przyczyny. Drugi rozdział zawiera klasyfikację nowotworów według typów tkanek, które ulegają transformacji. Kolejny rozdział jest poświęcony charakterystyce białaczek. W swojej pracy zwracam uwagę na diagnostykę i podstawowe metody leczenia nowotworów. Ostatnią część stanowi opis badań nad nowoczesnymi, ukierunkowanymi, skutecznymi terapiami zwalczającymi nowotwory. Przedstawiłam najnowsze odkrycia w dziedzinie medycyny : badania nad rolą białka PML, doświadczenia z wykorzystaniem cząsteczek RNA imitujących wirusy oraz sztuczne kapsułki zawierające RNA. Wyniki tych badań są optymistyczne, ale jednocześnie pokazują, że droga do pełnego sukcesu jest jeszcze daleka
