Theory of Quark-Gluon Plasma and Phase Transition

Nonperturbative picture of strong interacting quark-gluon plasma is given based on the systematic Field Correlator Method. Equation of state, phase transition in density-temperature plane is derived and compared to lattice data as well as subsequent thermodynamical quantities of QGP.Comment: 6 pages,5 figures; talk given at "13th Lomonosov Conference on Elementary Particle Physics", Moscow, August 23 -- 29, 2007; new reference adde

Wave Functions and Energy Terms of the SCHR\"Odinger Equation with Two-Center Coulomb Plus Harmonic Oscillator Potential

Schr\"odinger equation for two center Coulomb plus harmonic oscillator potential is solved by the method of ethalon equation at large intercenter separations. Asymptotical expansions for energy term and wave function are obtained in the analytical form.Comment: 4 pages, no figures, LaTeX, submitted to PR

Controlling Boron Diffusion during Rapid Thermal Annealing with CoImplantation by Amphoteric Impurity Atoms

    Get PDF
A model for simulating the rapid thermal annealing of silicon structures implanted with boron and carbon is developed. The model provides a fair approximation of the process of boron diffusion in silicon, allowing for such effects as the electric field, the impact of the implanted carbon, and the clustering of boron. The migration process of interstitials is described according to their drift in the field of internal elastic stress

    The pd3HΛK+pd\to ^3H_\Lambda K^+ reaction cross section

The one- and two-step mechanisms of the pd3HΛK+pd\to ^3H_\Lambda K^+ reaction in the range of incident proton kinetic energy 1.13-3.0 GeV have been investigated. A remarkable peculiarity of the two-step mechanism which incorporates subprocesses ppdπ+pp\to d\pi ^+ and π+nK+Λ\pi^+n\to K^+\Lambda is the so called velocity matching providing the presence of all intermediate particles nearly to the on-mass-shell. The differential cross section has been calculated using a realistic model for the hypertritium 3HΛ^3H_\Lambda wave function. The maximum value of the cross section is estimated as \sim 1nb/sr. The contribution of the one-step mechanism with the elementary process pNNKΛpN\to NK\Lambda into the cross section has been found to be two - three orders of magnitude smaller in comparison with the two-step mechanism.Comment: 10 pages, Latex, 3 Postscript figure

A New Nanoporous Material Based on Amorphous Silicon Dioxide

    Get PDF
Processes for making nanoporous SiO2 layers on Si via the irradiation of thermally oxidized silicon wafers with fast ions followed by chemical treatment in a solution or vapor of hydrofluoric acid are presented. It is shown that the density, shape, diameter, and length to diameter ratio of channels etched in silicon dioxide can be controlled by varying the regimes of fast ion irradiation or chemical treatment of SiO2/Si structures. Track parameters calculated using the thermal spike model are compared with the chemical etching data

Resonance-like coherent production of a pion pair in the reaction pdpdππpd \rightarrow pd\pi\pi in the GeV region

The reaction p+dp+d+Xp + d \rightarrow p + d + X was studied at 0.8-2.0 GeV proton beam energies with the ANKE magnetic spectrometer at the COSY synchrotron storage ring. The proton-deuteron pairs emerging with high momenta, 0.6-1.8 GeV/cc, were detected at small angles with respect to the proton beam. Distribution over the reaction missing mass MxM_x reveals a local enhancement near the threshold of the pion pair production specific for the so-called ABC effect. The enhancement has a structure of a narrow bump placed above a smooth continuum. The invariant mass of the dππd\pi\pi system in this enhancement region exhibits a resonance-like peak at Mdππ2.36M_{d\pi\pi} \approx 2.36 GeV/c2c^2 with the width Γ0.10\Gamma \approx 0.10 GeV/c2c^2. A possible interpretation of these features is discussed.Comment: 14 pages, 16 figures, submitted to Eur. Phys. J.
