    АНАЛИЗ ГИНЗЕНОЗИДОВ В КОРНЯХ ЖЕНЬШЕНЯ НАСТОЯЩЕГО (PANAX GINSENG), ИНТРОДУЦИРОВАННОГО В ЦЕНТРАЛЬНОМ БОТАНИЧЕСКОМ САДУ НАН БЕЛАРУСИ

    For the first time, a detailed study of the qualitative and quantitative composition of ginsenosides in the Panax ginseng roots was carried out with the help of high-performance liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). The plants were introduced into the conditions of the Republic of Belarus at the experimental plot of the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It was found that in the examined roots, all basic neutral glycosides of ginseng (ginsenosides Rb1, Rc, Rb2/Rb3, Rd, Rf, Rg1 and Re), as well as their malonylated derivatives (malonylginsenosides Rb1, Rc, Rb2/Rb3, Rd, Rg1 and Re) and some “minor” ginsenosides (20-gluco-ginsenoside Rf, notoginsenosides R1 and R2, isomers of malonyl-ginsenosides Rb1 and Rd) are present. The research also showed that different parts of the P. ginseng roots differ significantly in a total content of ginsenosides: for the main root, this parameter was 3.3 % of dry mass, and for the lateral roots – 7.8 % of dry mass.Впервые с помощью высокоэффективной жидкостной хроматографии, совмещенной с массспектрометрией (ВЭЖХ-МС) проведено подробное изучение качественного и количественного состава гинзенозидов в корнях женьшеня настоящего (P. ginseng C. A. Mey.), интродуцированного в условиях Республики Беларусь (опытный участок ЦБС НАН Беларуси). Установлено, что в изученных корнях присутствуют все основные нейтральные гликозиды женьшеня (гинзенозиды Rb1, Rc, Rb2/Rb3, Rd, Rf, Rg1 и Re), а также их малонилированные производные (малонил-гинзенозиды Rb1, Rc, Rb2/Rb3, Rd, Rg1 и Re) и некоторые «минорные» гинзенозиды (20-глюко-гинзенозид Rf, нотогинзенозиды R1 и R2, изомеры малонил-гинзенозидов Rb1 и Rd). Показано также, что разные части корней P. ginseng существенно отличаются по суммарному содержанию гинзенозидов: для основного корня этот параметр составил 3,3 % от сухой массы, а для боковых корней – 7,8 % от сухой массы

    Modeling The Nonlinear Moment-Rotation Relationship Of A Nail Plate Connector1

    This paper presents a mechanics-based procedure for modeling the nonlinear moment resistance of multiple-dowel wood connections. The lack of a consistent methodology for predicting rotational resistance of multiple-dowel joints was identified as one of the barriers to adoption of a ready-to-assemble (RTA) wood framing system. Integral to the RTA system is a nail plate connector (NPC) that consists of a metal plate with multiple dowel and is used to assemble RTA framing members into complete structural systems. The principle of energy conservation is used to derive the model. The proposed procedure is formulated such that the nonlinear response of the nails and plate bearing are explicitly included in the model to accurately predict the moment-rotation relationship over a wide range of deformations. Therefore, the model provides the information on both the ultimate strength and deformation capacity needed to establish safety margins and to perform serviceability checks, respectively. The method requires input of the lateral load-displacement relationships for an individual nail and plate bearing on the end grain of wood framing member. These relationships can be readily measured using lateral test procedures or determined analytically. The formulation showed excellent correlation with test results (R2 = 0.98). The proposed model presents an engineering and research tool and has the potential to promote the use of timber frames assembled with multiple dowel joints

    Principle Trajectories of the Domestic and Foreign Policy Crises in Modern Turkish Republic

    The Republic of Turkey in the year of 2015 has gone through the period of critical transformation of its foreign and domestic policies. The main reason for this transformation is the inability of the Justice and Development Party to reach its goals to draft the new constitution and vest the president of the country with new powers. Nevertheless, the authors believe that there are also historic and demographic reasons for this transformation that have been developing for several decades. The basis of this transformation is the destructive foreign policy course pursued by the ruling elites aimed at fomenting crises inside and outside Turkey. The most tangible signs of that are the resumption of hostilities between the Turkish army and PKK and also regular shillings of the positions of Syrian Kurds by Turkish artillery. According to the authorities of Turkey such policy is likely to force the Turkish society and foreign partners to make concessions and give the Justice and Development Party the right to reform the country in its own way. However, such policy also increases the possibility that some internal and external actors will try to make everything possible to overthrow the ruling regime one way or another

    Moisture Performance of Energy-Efficient and Conventional Wood-Frame Wall Assemblies in a Mixed-Humid Climate

    Long-term moisture performance is a critical consideration for design and construction of building envelopes in energy-efficient buildings, yet field measurements of moisture characteristics for highly insulated wood-frame walls in mixed-humid climates are lacking. Temperature, relative humidity, and moisture content of wood framing and oriented strand board (OSB) structural panel sheathing were measured over a period from mid-November 2011 through March 2013 in both north- and south-facing orientations in test structures near Washington, DC, USA. Wall configurations varied in exterior cladding, water-resistive barrier, level of cavity insulation, presence of exterior continuous insulation, and interior vapor retarder. The combination of high interior humidity and high vapor permeance of painted gypsum board led to significant moisture accumulation in OSB sheathing during winter in walls without a vapor retarder. In contrast, wintertime moisture accumulation was not significant with an interior kraft vapor retarder. Extruded polystyrene exterior insulation had a predictable effect on wall cavity temperature but a marginal impact on OSB moisture content in walls with vinyl siding and interior kraft vapor retarder. Hygrothermal simulations approximately captured the timing of seasonal changes in OSB moisture content, differences between north- and south-facing walls, and differences between walls with and without an interior kraft vapor retarder

    Incidence of severe critical events in paediatric anaesthesia (APRICOT): a prospective multicentre observational study in 261 hospitals in Europe

    Background Little is known about the incidence of severe critical events in children undergoing general anaesthesia in Europe. We aimed to identify the incidence, nature, and outcome of severe critical events in children undergoing anaesthesia, and the associated potential risk factors. Methods The APRICOT study was a prospective observational multicentre cohort study of children from birth to 15 years of age undergoing elective or urgent anaesthesia for diagnostic or surgical procedures. Children were eligible for inclusion during a 2-week period determined prospectively by each centre. There were 261 participating centres across 33 European countries. The primary endpoint was the occurence of perioperative severe critical events requiring immediate intervention. A severe critical event was defined as the occurrence of respiratory, cardiac, allergic, or neurological complications requiring immediate intervention and that led (or could have led) to major disability or death. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT01878760. Findings Between April 1, 2014, and Jan 31, 2015, 31â127 anaesthetic procedures in 30â874 children with a mean age of 6·35 years (SD 4·50) were included. The incidence of perioperative severe critical events was 5·2% (95% CI 5·0â5·5) with an incidence of respiratory critical events of 3·1% (2·9â3·3). Cardiovascular instability occurred in 1·9% (1·7â2·1), with an immediate poor outcome in 5·4% (3·7â7·5) of these cases. The all-cause 30-day in-hospital mortality rate was 10 in 10â000. This was independent of type of anaesthesia. Age (relative risk 0·88, 95% CI 0·86â0·90; p<0·0001), medical history, and physical condition (1·60, 1·40â1·82; p<0·0001) were the major risk factors for a serious critical event. Multivariate analysis revealed evidence for the beneficial effect of years of experience of the most senior anaesthesia team member (0·99, 0·981â0·997; p<0·0048 for respiratory critical events, and 0·98, 0·97â0·99; p=0·0039 for cardiovascular critical events), rather than the type of health institution or providers. Interpretation This study highlights a relatively high rate of severe critical events during the anaesthesia management of children for surgical or diagnostic procedures in Europe, and a large variability in the practice of paediatric anaesthesia. These findings are substantial enough to warrant attention from national, regional, and specialist societies to target education of anaesthesiologists and their teams and implement strategies for quality improvement in paediatric anaesthesia.
