Micromechanical High-doses Radiation Sensor with Bossed Membrane and Interferometry Optical Read-out

    Get PDF
AbstractThe silicon-glass MEMS high-doses radiation sensor with in situ detection, so far not possible in the field of detection of doses above 10 kGy, has been presented. The sensor consists of a chamber filled with the high density polyethylene (HDPE) and a silicon bossed membrane. The radiolysis product of HDPE increases the pressure inside the chamber causing the deflection of the membrane, which is proportional to the pressure, thus to radiation dose. The sensor has been irradiated with high energy electron beam and shows good detectability for 10-40 kGy. The deflection of the membrane has been detected by optical interferometer

Characteristics of each technology are collated and compared. The article’s rhetoric is guided by the proposed classification of MEMS cell fabrication methods and contains a historical outline of MEMS cell technology development

Alkali Vapor MEMS Cells Technology toward High-Vacuum Self-Pumping MEMS Cell for Atomic Spectroscopy

    No full text
The high-vacuum self-pumping MEMS cell for atomic spectroscopy presented here is the result of the technological achievements of the author and the research group in which he works. A high-temperature anodic bonding process in vacuum or buffer gas atmosphere and the influence of the process on the inner gas composition inside a MEMS structure were studied. A laser-induced alkali vapor introduction method from solid-state pill-like dispenser is presented as well. The technologies mentioned above are groundbreaking achievements that have allowed the building of the first European miniature atomic clock, and they are the basis for other solutions, including high-vacuum optical MEMS. Following description of the key technologies, high-vacuum self-pumping MEMS cell construction and preliminary measurement results are reported. This unique solution makes it possible to achieve a 10−6 Torr vacuum level inside the cell in the presence of saturated rubidium vapor, paving the way to building a new class of optical reference cells for atomic spectroscopy. Because the level of vacuum is high enough, experiments with cold atoms are potentially feasible

Na obraz pracy sk艂ada si臋 w pierwszej kolejno艣ci cz臋艣膰 teoretyczna, zawarta w rozdzia艂ach pierwszym i drugim. Rozdzia艂y trzeci i czwarty stanowi膮 analiz臋 firmy Kamar i wybranych firm konkurencyjnych. Na ko艅cu pracy zostanie przeprowadzone podsumowanie wynik贸w bada艅. Autor podejmie r贸wnie偶 pr贸b臋 okre艣lenia optymalnej strategii i kierunku rozwoju analizowanego przedsi臋biorstwa.W niniejszej pracy przyj臋to dwie hipotezy. Pierwsza z nich m贸wi o szansie rozwoju i ekspansji przedsi臋biorstwa poprzez wprowadzenie na rynek towar贸w w艂asnej produkcji. Natomiast w my艣l drugiej, elementem wspieraj膮cym rozw贸j firmy Kamar, jest zwi臋kszenie liczby punkt贸w dystrybucji towar贸w na terenie Polski. This thesis focuses on two aspects. The first one is an analysis regarding to polish market of spare parts and accessories for trucks. The second one is an analysis of Kamar company, which is a representative of mentioned market, and her comparison to the competitors. The main goal of presented thesis is an identification of plausible development strategies for Kamar company.Primarily, first and second chapter of the thesis contains theoretical part, based on wide literature studies. Thereafter, chapters three and four presents an analysis of Kamar company, and chosen market competitors. Finally, the results of mentioned analyses are going to be presented, and summarized. At the end of this thesis, author is going to reveal the optimal development strategy for studied company.Hereby, two hypotheses are being tested. First of them is saying that the chance for Kamar company development is to set her own production line and introduce those product under a new brand to the market. Second hypothesis stands, that development of mentioned organization is connected with augmentation the number of company sales points in Poland

Sealing of silicon-glass microcavities with polymer filling

    No full text
Investigation of hermetic sealing of selected polymers in silicon-glass microcavities has been presented. The anodic bonding method has been adapted for hermetic encapsulation of the polymer in microcavity. According to standard conditions of the anodic bonding process (temperature: 400掳C, voltage: 1000 V), the main challenge was the significant reduction of temperature in order to avoid degradation of the polymer. An analysis of the influence of reduced temperature and oxygen-free atmosphere on bond quality has been done. Proper parameters of the anodic bonding process enabling good and hermetic encapsulation of the polymer in the microcavity as well as optimal polymer treatment have been elaborated. Studies have shown that the closure of high density polyethylene in microcavity by anodic bonding process at a temperature reduced to 340掳C is possible. This procedure will be used for the fabrication of main elements for a new family of high radiation MEMS sensors
