LabView-based Modeling and Evaluation of Solar Photovoltaic Cells Energetic Efficiency

    Get PDF
As it is well known, an accurate knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) cell parameters from experimental data is of major importance for estimate their performances and to implement high energetic efficiency PV plants. In the last decade several solar cell models, respectively a high amount of software toolkits have been developed to evaluate their electrical behavior and performances. This paper is focused to introduce a LabView graphical programming language based solution to conveniently modeling, simulate, and evaluate solar PV cells energetic efficiency. By using their well known electrical equivalent circuits a fast and accurate PV simulator has been designed and implemented for research and energetic efficiency studies. The simulation models used has been validated through comparison of the obtained characteristics with the ones given by the manufacturers of PV panels. The computer-aided simulation results carried out are in a good agreement with the manufacturer’s catalogue data and the LabView-based program can serve as a very useful toolkit for engineers or researchers who require an accurate PV simulator and evaluate the performances of any photovoltaic module

Synanthropic spread of some salt tolerant plant species along roadsides in the continental part of Croatia

Our research was carried out in northern Croatia from 2018 to 2022 and we investigated the distribution of salt-tolerant plant species along roads (mainly along motorways) in a total of 51 study sites. We were the first to detect Cochlearia danica, a halophyte characterized by an Atlantic distribution, in the Croatian flora. We demonstrated the distinct roadside spread of Desmazeria marina, Parapholis incurva and Sagina maritima in a northerly direction towards the interior of the mainland. We recorded the mass occurrence of several salt-tolerant species already well documented in Central Europe along the surveyed motorways (e.g. Plantago coronopus, Spergularia marina) and provide data on other weeds that have spread along major roads. Three species found (Desmazeria marina, Puccinellia distans subsp. distans, Parapholis incurva) are included in the Croatian Red List

Korszerű elektromos propulzió rendszerek a repülésben = Overview of Cutting Edge Electric Propulsion Systems in Aviation

Early phenomena following cryogenic lesion of rat brain : a preliminary study

The cerebrovascular laminin becomes detectable following lesions, whereas the lamina basalis-receptor β-dystroglycan disappears. These alterations may be indirect markers of a glio-vascular detachment which may result in the impairment of blood-brain-barrier. The present study estimates the correlations between the post-lesion exudation and the aforementioned phenomena. Lesions were performed in ketamine-xylazine anaesthesia with a copper rod cooled with dry ice. Immediately, or in 5 or 10 min brains were fixed in buffered 4% paraformaldehyde. Immunohistochemical reactions were performed in floating sections. Exudation was estimated with immunohistochemical detection of plasma-fibronectin and immunoglobulins. Glio-vascular connections were investigated with immunohistochemistry (GFAP, S100, glutamine synthetase), and electron microscopy. Laminin immunoreactivity appeared already at immediate fixation. Exudate was found only around the vessels. β-dystroglycan was still detectable. At five-ten minutes the territory of exudate became confluent and dystroglycan disappeared. Some but not all vessels were free of astrocytes. Electron microscopy demonstrated wide perivascular ’spaces’. ’In vivo’ monitoring was attempted with a multiphoton microscope in the Department of Biophysics of Semmelweis University. Astrocytes were labeled supravitally with sulforhodamine 101 so glio-vascular connections were visible. However, neither in the intact brain nor in 30-min post-lesion period astrocyte motility was observed
