Aim. To evaluate a 1-year outpatient management of patients after myocardial infarction (MI) aged <75 years according to a Russian multicenter study, as well as to assess compliance with recommendations on the frequency of visiting specialists and the performance of diagnostic examinations.Material and methods. This observational study includes a representative sample of MI patients admitted to 16 clinics in 13 Russian regions. Patients with MI who were alive the next day after hospitalization aged <75 years were included in the study according to a special randomization scheme. When writing this article, the data from questionnaires of 6 and 12 months after hospitalization were analyzed: the number of visits to doctors of various specialties, hospitalizations, the number of diagnostic procedures performed (electrocardiography (ECG), echocardiography and surgical interventions (percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)). The study included a cohort of 723 patients who participated in the survey both 6 and 12 months after hospitalization (67% β€” patients discharged from the hospital), of which 562 (77,7%) were men and 161 (22,3%) β€” women. Statistical processing was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics v.25 software for Windows.Results. In the first 6 months after MI, 218 (38,8%) men and 62 (38,5%) women visited the cardiologist the recommended number of times. However, 151 (20,9%) people were not monitored by a cardiologist in the first six months. There was a significant increase in the number of people not observed during the second 6 months up to 209 (28,9%) people (p<0,01). Of the 689 interviewed patients, 210 (30,5%) people visited the therapist the recommended number of times in the first six months, while in the second 6 months β€” 402 (58,4%) patients. It is also reasonable to single out patients who were not monitored by either a cardiologist or a general practitioner into a separate group. In the first 6 months, the total number of unobserved patients was 68 (7,5%), while in the second six months this number increased to 189 (25,9%). The recommended number of ECGs (4 or more times) was performed in 316 (40,4%) patients, while ECG was not performed in 35 (4,5%) patients. Echocardiography 2 or more times was performed in 194 (25,4%) patients. The procedure was not performed in 167 (21,9%) patients. During the first 6 months, 170 (22%) people were hospitalized, while 156 (20,2%) β€” during the second half of the year. Angioplasty during the first 12 months after discharge from the hospital was performed in 183 (23,1%) patients, CABG β€” in 41 (5,2%) patients without age and sex differences.Conclusion. Outpatient management of patients aged <75 years 12 months after MI characterized by low compliance with recommendations on the number of cardiologist consultations and diagnostic procedures, which may adversely affect adherence to the recommended drug treatment and lead to a worse prognosis

Gluon and quark contributions to the thermodynamic potential (free energy) of a (2+1)-dimensional QCD model at finite temperature in the background of a constant homogeneous chromomagnetic field H combined with A_0 condensate are calculated. The role of the tachyonic mode in the gluon energy spectrum is discussed. A possibility of the free energy global minimum generation at nonzero values of H and A_0 condensates is investigated.Comment: LaTeX 2e, 14 pages, 6 eps figures, some miscalculations were correcte

To evaluate the weldability of steel for sour service the effect of different thermal cycles of welding on toughness and resistance to sulfide stress cracking of the pipe steel X65QS was investigated. Researches were conducted by modeling the welding thermal cycles with heating to a temperature of 1300 Β°C followed by cooling at different rates. Also kinetics of the austenite decomposition of pipe steel X65 QS in conditions of welding thermal cycles was studied. Dilatometric studies showed bainite transformation in a wide range of cooling rates in GCHAZ. In this case, the main factor affecting both toughness and corrosion resistant is morphology of bainite transformed in GCHAZ. Found that the highest toughness and satisfactory sulfide stress cracking resistance is observed in welded joints with structure of the acicular bainite in the GCHAZ. Acicular bainite in GCHAZ forms at cooling rates 10-20 Β°C/sec. X65QS. The NA62 experiment will begin taking data in 2015. Its primary purpose is a 10% measurement of the branching ratio of the ultrarare kaon decay K+β†’Ο€+Ξ½Ξ½Λ‰K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar{ \nu }, using the decay in flight of kaons in an unseparated beam with momentum 75 GeV/c.The detector and analysis technique are described here.Comment: 8 pages for proceedings of 50 Years of CP

Study of the decay K+β†’Ο€+Ο€βˆ’Ο€+Ξ³K^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}\gamma in the OKA experiment

A high statistics data sample of the decays of K+K^+ mesons to three charged particles was accumulated by the OKA experiment in 2012 and 2013. This allowed to select a clean sample of about 450 events with K+β†’Ο€+Ο€βˆ’Ο€+Ξ³K^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}\gamma decays with the energy of the photon in the kaon rest frame greater than 30 MeV. The measured branching fraction of the K+β†’Ο€+Ο€βˆ’Ο€+Ξ³K^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}\gamma, with EΞ³βˆ—E_{\gamma}^{*} > 30 MeV is (0.71Β±0.05)Γ—10βˆ’5(0.71 \pm 0.05) \times 10^{-5}. The measured energy spectrum of the decay photon is compared with the prediction of the chiral perturbation theory to O(p4)(p^{4}). A search for an up-down asymmetry of the photon with respect to the hadronic system decay plane is also performed.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures, 1 tabl

Searches for the light invisible axion-like particle in K+β†’Ο€+Ο€0aK^{+}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{0}a decay

A high statistics data sample of the K+K^{+} decays is recorded by the OKA collaboration. A missing mass analysis is performed to search for a light invisible pseudoscalar axion-like particle (ALP) aa in the decay K+β†’Ο€+Ο€0aK^{+} \to \pi^{+} \pi^{0} a. No signal is observed, the upper limits for the branching ratio of the decay are calculated. The 90%90\% confidence level upper limit is changing from 2.5β‹…10βˆ’62.5\cdot10^{-6} to 2β‹…10βˆ’72\cdot10^{-7} for the ALP mass from 0 to 200 MeV/c2c^{2}, except for the region of Ο€0\pi^{0} mass, where the upper limit is 4.4β‹…10βˆ’64.4\cdot10^{-6}.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure

The K+β†’Ο€+Ο€0Ο€0Ξ³K^{+} \to \pi^{+}\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma decay is observed by the OKA collaboration. The branching ratio is measured to be (4.1Β±0.9(stat)Β±0.4(syst))Γ—10βˆ’6(4.1 \pm 0.9(stat) \pm 0.4(syst))\times 10^{-6}. The branching ratio and Ξ³\gamma energy spectrum are consistent with ChPT prediction.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2310.1642

Time domains of hypoxia responses and -omics insights

    Get PDF
The ability to respond rapidly to changes in oxygen tension is critical for many forms of life. Challenges to oxygen homeostasis, specifically in the contexts of evolutionary biology and biomedicine, provide important insights into mechanisms of hypoxia adaptation and tolerance. Here we synthesize findings across varying time domains of hypoxia in terms of oxygen delivery, ranging from early animal to modern human evolution and examine the potential impacts of environmental and clinical challenges through emerging multi-omics approaches. We discuss how diverse animal species have adapted to hypoxic environments, how humans vary in their responses to hypoxia (i.e., in the context of high-altitude exposure, cardiopulmonary disease, and sleep apnea), and how findings from each of these fields inform the other and lead to promising new directions in basic and clinical hypoxia research
