The purpose of this study was exploring seventh, eighth, and ninth grade teachers\u27 attitudes and beliefs in response to classroom diversity and how that is reflected on their instruction, learning styles, communication patterns, instrumental materials, and assessment patterns in math, science, and Social studies subject areas. In this mixed-method research, the designed survey consisted of 59 questions based on Likert scale and obtained information of ten demographic factors. The survey was delivered in two formats (online link and hard copy) to the participating schools in three urban school districts in a Mid-South State. The survey data were analyzed by using both frequency distribution to report descriptive statistics and percentages, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques to identify possible significant differences related to the demographic factors. Face-to-face semi-structured interview and classroom observation instruments were employed to collect the data provided by teachers who completed the survey and agreed to be interviewed and observed in practice. The interview instrument consists of ten open-ended questions, while the interviews and observations were transcribed and coded for further analysis and presented under each theme in order to provide more comprehensive data and better understanding of the teachers\u27 attitudes and beliefs. The results showed the attitudes reported by the participant teachers on seven main themes namely value student\u27s culture and language, inclusion, teachers\u27 beliefs, teachers\u27 expectations, training and preparation, learning needs, and teaching methods/teacher-student communication patterns. These themes were developed and modified essentially to serve the purpose of this research that were found to be effective as suggested by literature and previous researches. The analyzed results identified the teachers\u27 positive and negative attitudes. The participants exhibited positive attitudes reflected their awareness, understanding, and appreciation of culturally and linguistically divers (CLD) students\u27 cultures, experiences, and language. They welcomed CLD students\u27 inclusion in their subject area classrooms, and held high expectations for all of their students. Simultaneously, they exhibited negative attitudes towards integrating multicultural contents, assessment patterns, utilizing students\u27 first language, applying different learning styles, using different communications patterns, and meeting the different learning needs of CLD students. Additionally, the results identified some significant differences related to the demographic factors. In conclusion, the research findings identified some possible issues behind teachers\u27 negative attitudes to serve this population of students. In addition, limitations and suggestions for future research were presented

The study's objective is to investigate factors that contribute to user acceptance and the actual use of mobile apps in the online service. The UTAUT and ETAM models were used in this study, and they facilitated the development of the hypotheses. The hypotheses were that quality, satisfaction, security, performance expectation, effort expectation, facilitating conditions, and social influences impact mobile app acceptance and the actual use of online service. The study used a quantitative case study approach and data collection through surveys. The p values obtained for the seven constructs were lower than the 0.05 and 0.001 significance levels and hence supported the hypothesis developed

Banks play a vital role in financing and developing national economy with its various sectors, by means of their various functions, such as operating as a broker between savers and investors. Due to their significant engagement with other economic sectors as well as the large number of their clients, whether individuals or organizations, banks are special institutions. In contrast with other companies, they are distinguished for their high financial leverage, as the banks contributors obviously represent only a slight part of the total available funding resources. Late 2012, the total rights of licensed banks in Jordan – amounting to 26 – are about JD4.9 billion, making only 13.1% of the total assets of the banks, which reached approximately JD37.3 billion on that date[1]. In other words, in their capitals, they basically rely on the money of depositors rather than shareholders. Accordingly, the Central Bank of Jordan and control parties pay great attention to the safety of banks’ financial conditions and activities, since any imbalance may lead to a disorder in the entire banking sector due to the lack of audience credibility. If so happens in any country, it may a national economic crisis is likely to be seen. Islamic banks occupy a distinguished position on the map of the international banking industry. Particularly, as their holdings constitute 21% of the credit facilities of the licensed banks in the same period and 15% of clients’ deposits, these institutions are integral to the Jordanian banking sector. Therefore, they are significantly concerned with adopting Strategic Planning as a method to manage their activities. In this regard, the present research aims at shedding light on some banking SP aspects, in general, and Islamic banks, in specific. The study explores the reality of SP in the Jordan Islamic Bank, which is the pioneer in the kingdom and has several regional and international successes in this field. The Equity capital system is an arachnidan system, it is a fast spreading and fast collapsing system, therefore it is coming out of a crisis to fall in another. The history of this financial system reflects this fact in numbers and also in reality, as the distinguished western economy pioneers confessed that capitalism is a regular crises generating system by nature. The traces of this capitalism nature are more noticed recently according to the growing demand on the financial derivatives, forward sales and speculative fever dealings. But the truth is that the problem of these crises that occurs regularly within the system lies in its rapid transition across the world and also in the fact that any disturbance in one end of the world will rapidly transit to the other end as a lot of countries trend to follow open market, financial liberalization, share capitals’ free transition and free obstacles investment policies whether in multi parties commercial frame under the International Organization of Trade regulations or in the contest of the financial globalization through the liberalization of the long and short term capitals; therefore the infection of financial crisis is an inevitability. In light of the growing global interest in solving this crisis especially at the level of the international financial and monetary institutions; Islamic alternative emerged dramatically in light of the immune that was featured on many of Islamic financial and banking institutions at a time when the world has witnessed the collapse of many giant global financial and banking institutions. The effects of social media digital channels on marketing and expanding the industry of e-commerce within digital world

    Get PDF
The primary research question investigated was: What is the effect of social media channels on e-commerce expansion and marketing by Jordanian firms? The specific objectives included examining social media channels' effect on Jordanian companies' marketing and exploring social media's impact on Jordanian e-commerce expansion. To achieve the research goal, a quantitative method was used in which fifty social media managers of Jordanian firms were recruited and surveyed. A key result from the analysis conducted was that social media enables word-of-mouth expression by users regarding certain brands that positively and significantly increase the marketing effect of the firms. The other result noted from the analysis is that an increasing number of loyal followers can eventually lead to reduced e-commerce of firms if they fail to align the products and services with customers' interests. One limitation of this research was a small sample, which reduced the generalization of the results. One recommendation from this research is that Jordanian firms should create entertaining and engaging social media posts that ensure customers can share their positive experiences using specific products, leading to significant marketing impact

The role of neural network for estimating real estate prices value in post COVID-19: a case of the middle east market

    Get PDF
The main goal of this paper was to explore the use of an artificial neural network (ANN) model in predicting real estate prices in the Middle East market. Although conventional modeling approaches such as regression can be used in prediction, they have a weakness of a predetermined relationship between input and output. In this regard, using the ANN model was expected to reduce the bias and ensure non-linear relationships are also covered in the prediction process for more accurate results. The ANN model was created using Python v.3.10 program. The model exhibited a high correlation between predicted and actual house price data (R=0.658). In this respect, it was realized that the model could be effectively used in appraising real estate by investors. However, a major limitation of the model was realized to be a limited dataset for large and luxurious houses, which were not accurately predicted as data distribution between actual and predicted values became sparse for high house prices. A key recommendation made is that future research should include more variables related to luxurious houses and macroeconomic factors to increase the ANN model accuracy
