Individual Adopter Differences Among Jordanian Technology Users

    Get PDF
This paper draws upon innovation diffusion theory and more recent conceptualizations of IT adoption behavior to examine differences among Jordanian Internet across Rogers’ adopter categories. We extend Rogers’ theory by characterizing adopter categories based on personality, attitudinal and situational variables recently found to be salient in IT adoption behaviors, and determine that young, educated and upwardly-mobile members of developing economies in the Middle East and North Africa region are the best target for increasing the effectiveness of diffusion of information and communication technology initiatives

This paper attempts light on the role of Waqf (=endowments) in reviving life in all its aspects in Jerusalem after its liberation from the Franks by Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi 583 AH / 1187 AD. The endowments made by the Ayyubids in Jerusalem played a major and prominent role in reviving life in the city from all sides which will be clarified by reviewing some of the endowment models in this paper. We will also review the attempts aimed at liberating the Holy City and its people from the hardship and difficult circumstances they went through during the Frankish occupation to turn into a city teeming with life again, where the endowments had a crucial role in the rise of the Holy City as a center of civilization radiation. It is recommended to preserve this holy city and take responsibility for our beloved Jerusalem

Implementing Pragmatism And John Deweys Educational Philosophy In Jordanian Public Schools

    Get PDF
The teachings and writings of John Dewey, an American philosopher and educator, offer insightful influences on contemporary education, not only in the United States but also worldwide. His philosophy of education, commonly referred to as Pragmatism, focused on learning by doing as an alternative to rote knowledge and strict teaching. The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which this philosophical thought is implemented in Jordanian public schools according to Jordanian teachers. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were employed in this study. The findings reveal that Jordanian teachers believe Pragmatism is implemented in Jordan to a moderate degree

Lecturers’ Perceptions and Satisfaction of Employing Electronic Learning Tools at the Arab Universities During COVID-19

    Get PDF
This study aimed to identify the trends of faculty members in Arab universities toward the use of electronic learning tools in the context of the Corona pandemic. To achieve the study objectives, the questionnaire was the main instrument for collecting study data. The study was applied to a sample consisting of (82) faculty members at Altaif University, Irbid Alahlia University and Middle East University, who were selected randomly. The results revealed that attitudes and satisfaction of faculty members in Arab universities toward the use of e-learning tools in light of the Corona pandemic were medium. Also, the results showed that there are no significant impact of gender, academic ranking and experience but there is a significant impact of the university according to the point of view of faculty members on the use of e-learning tools in Arab universities

The article aimed to identify the dominant brain control patterns among female students enrolled in the gymnastics training course and the difference in the level of skill performance of gymnastics and choreography skills among female students according to the pattern of brain control on a sample of 101 female students registered in the gymnastics training course. The researcher used the descriptive approach for its relevance to the subject and objectives of the study. The researcher used statistical treatments (t-test) for independent groups, percentages, and Cronbach\u27s alpha. The study results concluded that the left pattern of brain control is predominant among students enrolled in the gymnastics training course. There are no significant differences in the level of skill performance among the female students enrolled in the gymnastics training course due to the variable of brain control pattern in both gymnastics skills and choreography skills, and the average difference in gymnastics skills in favor of the students with the right style at the expense of the students with the left style, and the average difference in the choreography skills in favor of the students with the left pattern, at the expense of the students with the right pattern. In the study of identifying the pattern of brain mastery among female students before the educational process, the teacher must choose the appropriate teaching methods for each pattern and conduct more studies on the pattern of brain control and its impact on the level of skill performance for the rest of the gymnastics equipment and conducting more studies on the pattern of brain control and its impact on the level of skill performance in other sports

Awareness of sustainability issues among science education and vocational education students at the Hashemite University in Jordan : an empirical investigation

    Get PDF
The primary purpose of this study was to assess the level of students’ awareness about sustainability issues at the Hashemite University in Jordan. A 30-item instrument, adapted from Dunkerly-Kolb (1998), was used to collect data from a sample of 230 preservice science and vocational teachers during the academic year 2005-2006. Results indicated that preservice science and vocational teachers showed medium level of awareness about sustainability issues. Additionally, results indicated that participants appeared to be independent from their natural surroundings. The study suggested few practical solutions for faculty members and for the university administration to incorporate sustainability principles into university curricula.peer-reviewe

The Digital Learning of Disabled Students: Perceptions of Teachers in Public Schools

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of public-school teachers about digital learning for disabled students. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, using a questionnaire tailored to accomplish the studys objectives, which was developed by the researchers. A total of 124 male (55) and female (69) public-school teachers in Irbids public schools were included in the study. The outcomes of the survey revealed that public school teachers had a positive attitude toward digital learning. They also discovered statistically significant variations in the samples answers due to the variables of gender (in favor of females) and age (in favor of the age range 40-less than 50)

Towards Green Computing Oriented Security: A Lightweight Postquantum Signature for IoE

[EN] Postquantum cryptography for elevating security against attacks by quantum computers in the Internet of Everything (IoE) is still in its infancy. Most postquantum based cryptosystems have longer keys and signature sizes and require more computations that span several orders of magnitude in energy consumption and computation time, hence the sizes of the keys and signature are considered as another aspect of security by green design. To address these issues, the security solutions should migrate to the advanced and potent methods for protection against quantum attacks and offer energy efficient and faster cryptocomputations. In this context, a novel security framework Lightweight Postquantum ID-based Signature (LPQS) for secure communication in the IoE environment is presented. The proposed LPQS framework incorporates a supersingular isogeny curve to present a digital signature with small key sizes which is quantum-resistant. To reduce the size of the keys, compressed curves are used and the validation of the signature depends on the commutative property of the curves. The unforgeability of LPQS under an adaptively chosen message attack is proved. Security analysis and the experimental validation of LPQS are performed under a realistic software simulation environment to assess its lightweight performance considering embedded nodes. It is evident that the size of keys and the signature of LPQS is smaller than that of existing signature-based postquantum security techniques for IoE. It is robust in the postquantum environment and efficient in terms of energy and computations. This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR), King Abdulaziz University.
