Dynamical studies of macroscopic superposition states: Phase engineering of controlled entangled number states of Bose-Einstein condensate in multiple wells
We provide a scheme for the generation of entangled number states of
Bose-Einstein condensates in multiple wells with cyclic pairwise connectivity.
The condensate ground state in a multiple well trap can self-evolve, when phase
engineered with specific initial phase differences between the neighboring
wells, to a macroscopic superposition state with controllable entanglement --
to multiple well generalization of double well NOON states. We demonstrate
through numerical simulations the creation of entangled states in three and
four wells and then explore the creation of "larger" entangled states where
there are either a larger number of particles in each well or a larger number
of wells. The type of entanglement produced as the particle numbers, or
interaction strength, increases changes in a novel and initially unexpected

Antenatal Care Satisfaction in a Developing Country: A Cross-Sectional Study From Nigeria
Background
Utilization of Antenatal Care (ANC) is very low in Nigeria. Self-reported patient satisfaction may be useful to identify provider- and facility-specific factors that can be improved to increase ANC satisfaction and utilization. Methods
Exit interview data collected from ANC users and facility assessment survey data from 534 systematically selected facilities in four northern Nigerian states were used. Associations between patient satisfaction (satisfied, not-satisfied) and patient ratings of the provider’s interactions, care processes, out-of-pocket costs, and quality of facility infrastructure were studied. Results
Of 1336 mothers, 90% were satisfied with ANC. Patient satisfaction was positively associated with responsive service (prompt, unrushed service, convenient clinic hours and privacy during consultation, AOR 2.42, 95% CI 2.05–2.87), treatment-facilitation (medical care-related provider communication and ease of receiving medicines, AOR 2.03, 95% CI 1.46–2.80), equipment availability (AOR 1.10, 95% CI 1.01–1.21), staff empathy (AOR 1.82, 95% CI 1.03–3.23), non-discriminatory treatment regardless of patient’s socioeconomic status (AOR: 1.87, 95% CI 1.09–3.22), provider assurance (courtesy and patient’s confidence in provider’s competence, AOR 1.48, 95% CI 1.26–1.75), and number of clinical examinations received (AOR 1.28, 95% CI 1.10–1.50). ANC satisfaction was negatively impacted by out-of-pocket payment for care (vs. free care, AOR 0.44, 95% CI 0.23–0.82). Conclusions
ANC satisfaction in Nigeria may be enhanced by improving responsiveness to clients, clinical care quality, ensuring equipment availability, optimizing easy access to medicines, and expanding free ANC services
Quantum phase space picture of Bose-Einstein Condensates in a double well: Proposals for creating macroscopic quantum superposition states and a study of quantum chaos
We present a quantum phase space model of Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in a
double well potential. In a two-mode Fock-state analysis we examine the
eigenvectors and eigenvalues and find that the energy correlation diagram
indicates a transition from a delocalized to a fragmented regime. Phase space
information is extracted from the stationary quantum states using the Husimi
distribution function. It is shown that the quantum states are localized on the
known classical phase space orbits of a nonrigid physical pendulum, and thus
the novel phase space characteristics of a nonrigid physical pendulum such as
the motions are seen to be a property of the exact quantum states. Low
lying states are harmonic oscillator like libration states while the higher
lying states are Schr\"odinger cat-like superpositions of two pendulum rotor
states. To study the dynamics in phase space, a comparison is made between a
displaced quantum wavepacket and the trajectories of a swarm of points in
classical phase space. For a driven double well, it is shown that the classical
chaotic dynamics is manifest in the dynamics of the quantum states pictured
using the Husimi distribution. Phase space analogy also suggests that a
phase displaced wavepacket put on the unstable fixed point on a separatrix will
bifurcate to create a superposition of two pendulum rotor states - a
Schr\"odinger cat state (number entangled state) for BEC. It is shown that the
choice of initial barrier height and ramping, following a phase
imprinting on the condensate, can be used to generate controlled entangled
number states with tunable extremity and sharpness.Comment: revised version, 13 pages, 13 figure
Phase engineering of controlled entangled number states in a single component Bose-Einstein condensate in a double well
We propose a model for the creation of entangled number states (Schr\"odinger
cat states) of a Bose-Einstein condensate in a double well through simple phase
engineering. We show that a -phase imprinted condensate in a double-well
evolves, with a simultaneous change of barrier height, to number states with
well defined and controlled entanglement. The cat state generation is
understood in terms of the underlying classical phase space dynamics of a
-phase displaced coherent state put at the hyperbolic fixed point of the
separatrix of a physical pendulum. The extremity and sharpness of the final cat
state is determined by the initial barrier height and the rate at which it is

Magnetic Behavior of Manganese-Doped ZnSe Quantum Dots
Magnetic properties of manganese-doped ZnSe quantum dots with the size of approximately 3.6 nm are investigated. The amount of Mn in the ZnSe quantum dots has been varied from 0.10% to 1.33%. The doping level in the quantum dots is much less than that used in the precursor. The co-ordination of Mn in the ZnSe lattice has been determined by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). Two different hyperfine couplings 67.3×10−4 and 60.9×10−4 cm−1 observed in the EPR spectrum imply that Mn atoms occupy two distinct sites; one uncoordinated (near the surface) and other having a cubic symmetric environment (nanocrystal core), respectively. Photoluminescence measurements also confirm the incorporation of Mn in ZnSe quantum dots. From the Curie-Weiss behavior of the susceptibility, the effective Mn-Mn antiferromagnetic exchange constant (J1) has been evaluated. The spin-glass behavior is observed in 1.33% Mn-doped ZnSe quantum dots, at low temperature. Magnetic behavior at a low temperature is discussed
