Optimalisasi Pengetahuan Kesehatan Reproduksi Bagi Ibu-Ibu Anggota PW Wyk 4 GKI Getsemani Kotaraja, Jayapura

Healthy body and health are different things but inseparable. Everyone wants a healthy body and always spare deadly diseases, such as cancer. Knowledge about the most common cancers affecting women and how to prevent them is very important for women everywhere. This paper describes an activity report about exposure to community service activities regarding women's reproductive health, especially socialization about breast cancer and cervical cancer and the ways to prevent them. The target of this activity includes 14 women members of the Women's Fellowship (PW) Wyk 4 Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Getsemani Kotaraja. The presentation activity took place on August 25, 2021. The results of the implementation of this community service activity showed that the participants could understand the importance of knowledge about reproductive health and could practice the recommendations obtained such as the Breast Self-Exam (BSE-SADARI) Movement, as well as being more sensitive to changes in personal health.Keyword: breast cancer; cervix cancer; SADARI; PW GKI Getsemani.

KAMPANYE KONSERVASI DANAU SENTANI

Located in Jayapura regency, Sentani lake is the bigest lake in Papua Province with total area 9360 ha and it has maximum depth. Geographycaly, the position of this lake is 70-90 m above sea level at coordinate 2°33’ - 2°41’ S, 140°38’ – 140°38’ E. Sentani lake is the main producer of freshwater fish in Jayapura Regency and it support the livelihood of local people especially the local fishermen. The change of habitat and biota of Sentani lake mainly due to the activities of people living around. One of the bigest threat for this lake is habitat break down and exotic species introduction.  As a consequence, recently Sentani lake has becoming the most threatean freashwater ecosystem. The aim of this activity was to  raised the awarness of citizen regarding the important of sentani lake through conservation. Seminar and questionaire are methods use for the activity. The citizen target was young age (PAM and PAR) at local church (GKI Siloam Waena, Jayapura). The result of this activity shown that only 41,3% of PAR and 40,45% of PAM (respondents) has understanding the important of lake conservation. PELATIHAN OPTIMALISASI KEBERSIHAN DIRI SENDIRI DAN LINGKUNGAN BAGI ANGGOTA PERSEKUTUAN WANITA (PW) KRISTEN WYK 4 GKI GETSEMANI KOTARAJA JAYAPURA

Physical health condition can be achieved in many ways, including the prevention and treatment of diseases, and the maintenance of personal health and the environment around the place of residence. These steps are basic things that can be started from the dissemination of information and knowledge as well as simple practices in the family sphere. This socialization activity featured three matters, namely 1) Socialization about infectious diseases in Papua, 2) Socialization about HIV and AIDS, and 3) Socialization about the use of plants as ingredients for herbal medicines. These three materials are related to personal health and how to get used to living using health protocols, considering that this activity was carried out during the COVID 19 pandemic. The target of the socialization activity was the women members of Wyk 4 GKI Getsemani Kotaraja. These activities were carried out with the socialization method in the form of lectures and discussions as well as practicum. Subsequent practical activities include planting medicinal plants with prepared seeds, followed by visits to the participants to determine the growth of the plants planted during the socialization. The activity took place from 12 August to 2 September 2020. Face-to-face and practical activities could take place well and were successfully attended by 16 participants. The implementation of this activity is expected to encourage and build awareness and concern for improving lifestyles and maintaining body health by regulating a lifestyle according to health rules, proper knowledge of infectious disease materials provided, as well as practicing personal hygiene, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The economic valuation of mangrove ecosystem in Youtefa bay, Jayapura, Indonesia

The purpose of this research is understanding about the total economic value of mangrove ecosystem in the area of Youtefa bay, Jayapura, Papua. The data were collected directly by interviews. Data collection was conducted in March until April 2018 inthe area located in three traditional villages around Youtefa bay namely Tobati (46 respondents), Enggros (82 respondents) and Nafri (100 respondents). The methods in this research are contingent valuation method, market price, replacement cost, benefit transfer and willingness to pay. The result of this research shows that total economic value of mangrove ecosystem is about USD 3,715,115.02 year-1 or about USD 15,937.49 ha-1year-1. Nowadays, the communities in the three villages of Youtefa bay get direct use from the mangrove ecosystem are about USD 2,049,419.17 year-1 or USD 3,987.1968 household-1year-1. These direct use are derived from the utilization of mangroves as a supplier of fish, crab, shrimp, shellfish and firewood products. Indirect use of mangroves as coastal protection, prevention of seawater intrusion and carbon sequestration of USD 1,660,163.80 year-1 or USD 7,122.50 ha-1year-1. The option and existence value of mangrove ecosystem are about USD 3,496.80 year-1 and USD 2,035.25 year-1. The conservation effort for the maintaining of mangrove ecosystem are needed to get the high value of the using it and improve the welfare of local communities

PENINGKATAN KEPEDULIAN KONSERVASI DANAU SENTANI DI SEKOLAH ADAT SENTANI, KABUPATEN JAYAPURA, PAPUA

Lake Sentani is the biggest lowland lake in Papua and one of freshwater ecosystem conservation priorities in Papua. The lake has highest endemism, however it faces high pressure of human activities in the lake. Habitat alteration and introduction of exotic species are two of the most threaten factors in the lake. Therefore, this program aims to improve knowledge of Lake Sentani, its biotas and its threats to students of Culture School of Sentani, Jayapura Regency in Hobong Village and develop conservation campaign tools to increase people awareness for the lake conservation. Methods used were seminar and video campaign. Students have limited knowledge about the lake. They do not aware about threats of introduced species and habitat lateration becasue of waste in the lake. They have also known more on introduced fish species than endemic and native species. However, they could recognize fish species through picture, which showed in the seminar, based on local name. Video campaign was developed to increase people awareness on Lake Sentani which is distributed via social media. Limited knowledge on Lake Sentani should be increased through serious and regular campaign program in printed and electronic media.Keywords: English teachers, Professionalism, Text Types

PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN HERBARIUM KERING DI KAMPUNG WISATA BIRDWATCHING RHEPANG MUAIF-NIMBOKRANG KABUPATEN JAYAPURA

Bird watching  in Rhepang Muaif is a form of sustainable ecotourism managed by local people. Joint with variety of birds, diversity of flora was also found in the protected area of village forest and these resources are main tools to attract the tourists. One of the basic elements cultural tourism is the availability of cultural facility, such as gallery or shows room. The availability of galleries or showrooms are the basic elements needed for this cultural tourism. The purpose of this training is to introduce the diversity of plant through collection of herbarium around the village. The PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) methods are used in this course, which is the local community become the main actors.  The result showed that local people can make dry herbarium through the process such as pressing, drying, and handling. Herbs that can be made herbarium is consists of 17 family and 9 species, grouped into 4 species group of Liliopsida, and 13 species group of Magnoliopsida. MENGENAL IKAN-IKAN DANAU SENTANI

Lake Sentani is the biggest lowland lake in Papua and the biggest freshwater fish source in Jayapura. The lake has highest endemism and one of freshwater ecosystem conservation priorities in Papua. Lake organisms consist of water plants, mollusks, crustacea and fish. In Lake Sentani, there are 19 species of fish including endemic, native and anadromous and introduced species. This program aims to deliver knowledge on fish species of Lake Sentani and fish species grouping for elementary school students, grade IV to VI of SD Negeri 5 Puay, Puay Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura. Methods used were seminar, training and practice of fish species grouping, drawing a fish and writing its story. Moreover, pre test and post test consist of questions about Lake Sentani fish and its grouping was deliver to measure the level of knowledge of the students before and after the program. Level of knowledge of students on fish of Lake Sentani was evaluated based on the results of pre test and post test. Student knowledge on Lake Sentani fish species were increasing which show by pre test and post test results. Twelve out of 13 (92%) students showed their post test results were increasing and only one student’s test result was decreasing. Eventhough there are more students with good post test result than those who do not, the level of knowledge on Lake Sentani’s fish and its grouping is not fairly distributed among the students. It is shown by the fact that there are 62% or 8 students  that doing poorly on this test. Therefore, various programmes with various teaching methods for students should be desigend to increase knowledge of students on fish species and its grouping in Lake Sentani. Keywords: fish, fish grouping, Lake Sentani, Puay, students

Perancangan Playbook Identifikasi Serangga Sebagai Bahan Penunjang Pembelajaran IPA di Bakal Sekolah Alam Kampung Wisata Isyo Hills Rhepang Muaif, Nimbokrang, Kabupaten Jayapura

The purpose of this activity is to design an insect identification playbook and introduce and directly practice insect identification through this playbook to teachers and elementary school students at Sekolah Alam "Isyo Hills" Kampung Rhepang Muaif, Nimbokrang, Jayapura Papua. The method used in this design begins with the phase of making the playbook material concept, making the design and choosing characters to layout, and the finalization stage for the final result. This design produced a playbook in the form of a books by displaying the discussion of the material insect introduction with coloring activities for insects namely Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies), Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) and Coleoptera (beetles). The next activity is training which is carried out on July 2021, involving 11 students, representatives of elementary school grades 1 to 5 and junior high school from Sekolah Alam ‘’Isyo Hills”. The training provided includes the presentation regarding the introduction of insects through the design of playbook. Furthermore students directly practice the coloring activities for several species examples of insects in the playbook. The training which was conducted for the teacher and students at Sekolah Alam “Isyo Hills” Kampung Rephang Muaif has been going well. The enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this training was very high. This indicates that the training participants have responded positively to the activities that have been carried out. Keywords: training; design of playbook; insect; Rephang Muaif.
