Introduction/Aim: Cyberbullying of influential personalities or celebrities is a media menace. Psychological, depressional, and emotional suicidal ideation effects are some of the impacts on celebrities. A few studies have investigated celebrities' coping mechanisms against this, with the majority from developed countries. There is a dearth of information on this among celebrities in Nigeria. This study investigated the experience, effects, and coping mechanisms of cyberbullying among celebrities in the Ibadan metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria. Material and method: A descriptive crosssectional purposive sampling method was adopted. An in-depth interview guide was used for data collection among 14 consented celebrities. Data were manually analysed thematically. Results: Most participants were 25-35 years old and were comedians. All have experienced cyberbullies, such as popularity attacks and defamation of character. The effects of cyberbullying on the victims include low self-esteem, mental stress, depression, substance abuse, and financial crisis. Jealousy, hatred, envy, and quest for popularity among the perpetrators fuelled this menace. However, some celebrities have overcome these effects through technical, preventive, corrective, social support, and spiritual approaches. Conclusion: Cyberbullying is prevalent among celebrities and many experienced psychological effects. Awareness, interventions aimed at its prevention, and adequate coping strategies are needed to solve this menace

Building and facility maintenance is one of the important aspect of life cycle of a building or facility, and this has been done overtime with manual approach which tends to create an effectiveness gap between the time of ordering for work and the execution time, therefore the need for an automation system. Therefore adopting an automated system that could help in proper management of the maintenance process is highly essential. The study aims to fill the knowledge gap through developing a platform through which facilities and building users can request for maintenance work to be done, this would eliminates delay in work execution and request processing and aids maintenance planning scheduling and execution. The platform is compact and well guided with a view to facilitating and eliminating facility and building maintenance vices. Also the knowledge gap was filled based on data obtained through questionnaire survey that was conducted between 2017 and 2018 in Nigeria involving 60 residential accommodations with maintainable facility components, while the task of developing the web platform was achieved with tools like PhP and MySQL. Descriptive statistics, categorical regression and factor analysis, mean item scores, simple percentages were used to analyze the data. The following parameters were investigated and analyzed; factors influencing the effectiveness of the proposed maintenance platform, critical success factor in deployment of the interphase, importance of web based maintenance work order portal system, critical components for an effective payment platform and creating a sustainable web-based platform. The study identified important factors, which are critical to the realization of the sustainable platform as, include high human-machine compatibility, good internet and intranet facility, high ergonomic component design, effective return time in request execution, eliminating delay in work execution among others. The above factors formed part of the contribution of the study to the body of knowledge in the field of ICT applications in building and facility maintenance operations. The study concludes by bringing to the fore parameters like access to regular power supply and computer literacy, technical intelligence or know-how among others as factors that influences the usefulness of the Web-based maintenance work order platform interface

The data presented herein are compilations of the research summary of “Assessment of the Quality of Steel Reinforcement Bars Available in Nigerian Market” (Joshua et al., 2013) [1]. This data article provides information on the properties and cost of steel rebars used in reinforced concrete in Lagos, Nigeria. The data is based on the properties of 12 mm rebar brands which are the most used steel diameter in construction and they include actual diameters, yield strengths, ultimate strengths, ultimate/yield strength ratio, ductility and the cost of each brand. This data also contains the limiting standard properties of the highlighted properties in this data

The protective roles of citrus flavonoids, naringenin, and naringin on endothelial cell dysfunction in diseases

The endothelial cells (ECs) make up the inner lining of blood vessels, acting as a barrier separating the blood and the tissues in several organs. ECs maintain endothelium integrity by controlling the constriction and relaxation of the vasculature, blood fluidity, adhesion, and migration. These actions of ECs are efficiently coordinated via an intricate signaling network connecting receptors, and a wide range of cellular macromolecules. ECs are naturally quiescent i.e.; they are not stimulated and do not proliferate. Upon infection or disease, ECs become activated, and this alteration is pivotal in the pathogenesis of a spectrum of human neurological, cardiovascular, diabetic, cancerous, and viral diseases. Considering the central position that ECs play in disease pathogenesis, therapeutic options have been targeted at improving ECs integrity, assembly, functioning, and health. The dietary intake of flavonoids present in citrus fruits has been associated with a reduced risk of endothelium dysfunction. Naringenin (NGN) and Naringin (NAR), major flavonoids in grapefruit, tomatoes, and oranges possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, and cell survival potentials, which improve the health of the vascular endothelium. In this review, we provide a comprehensive summary and present the advances in understanding of the mechanisms through which NGN and NAR modulate the biomarkers of vascular dysfunction and protect the endothelium against unresolved inflammation, oxidative stress, atherosclerosis, and angiogenesis. We also provide perspectives and suggest further studies that will help assess the efficacy of citrus flavonoids in the therapeutics of human vascular diseases
