Emergent Supersymmetry in Warped Backgrounds
We show that quantum mechanical supersymmetries are emerged in Kaluza-Klein
spectrum of linearized gravity in several warped backgrounds as a consequence
of higher-dimensional general coordinate invariance. These emergent
supersymmetries play an essential role for the spectral structure of braneworld
gravity. We show that for the case of braneworld models with two codimension-1
branes the spectral pattern is completely determined only through the
supersymmetries

Participatory Planning: Gaining a Voice in the Digital Divide
Technology is advancing at an astonishing rate and the tools to collect and analyze large amounts of data are now becoming readily available. Urban planners have begun to utilize these tools including online surveys for example. The relative newness of such tools begs for best practices for these new methods. These tools have also changed the frame around the conversation of inclusion and democratic planning in this modern era. Two planning methodologies from prominent documents are compared and contrasted in this research study. The Second Regional Plan by the Regional Plan Association in 1967 and the PlaNYC 2030’s policy recommendations by the New York City
Mayor’s Office Long-term Planning and Sustainability (OLTPS) in 2010 are the case studies selected. Lastly, the public has been given more access than previously offered by supporting institutions such as the New York Public Library System in New York City and the support has proven to be an effective outlet for bridging the digital divide. Libraries are important places where residents can gain access to the global information society, learn, seek entertainment, and connect with others using the Internet. Urban planning can greatly benefit from understanding Internet usage to give all residents an equal voice in the planning process to meet the goals of true democracy
Gauge-Fixing and Residual Symmetries in Gauge/Gravity Theories with Extra Dimensions
We study compactified pure gauge/gravitational theories with gauge-fixing
terms and show that these theories possess quantum mechanical SUSY-like
symmetries between unphysical degrees of freedom. These residual symmetries are
global symmetries and generated by quantum mechanical N=2 supercharges. Also,
we establish new one-parameter family of gauge choices for higher-dimensional
gravity, and calculate as a check of its validity one graviton exchange
amplitude in the lowest tree-level approximation. We confirm that the result is
indeed -independent and the cancellation of the -dependence is
ensured by the residual symmetries. We also give a simple interpretation of the
vDVZ-discontinuity, which arises in the lowest tree-level approximation, from
the supersymmetric point of view.Comment: REVTeX4, 17 pages, 1 figur
Safer Use of Metformin for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and/or Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD) with Beneficial Efficacy
Diabetes has been a prevalent disease worldwide, and metformin has been used widely as an oral hypoglycemic agent (OHA) for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Its benefits include low cost, weight neutrality, general effect and positive efficacy for cardiovascular system. American Diabetes Association (ADA) has proposed diabetic guidelines-2020 and evaluated metformin as predominant agent. They include i) the preferred initial pharmacologic agent for T2DM, ii) once starting of metformin, it should be continued as long as tolerated without contraindication. Furthermore, recent studies showed safer effect for impaired renal function. We cannot exclude such results and will contribute the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
Efficacy of low carbohydrate diet (LCD) on obesity and alcohol intake from bio-psycho-social points of view
Background: Low carbohydrate diet (LCD) and very low-carbohydrate ketogenic (VLCK) diet have been in focus.
Case presentation: Patient is a 66-year-old male with obesity (87kg, BMI 29.4kg/m2), fatty liver, gall stone and excessive alcohol consumption with GGT 661 U/L.
Results: By continuing LCD and quitting alcohol consumption, his weight decreased to 65kg and GGT decreased to 28 U/L.
Discussion: This case was followed up for 10 years, and showed no apparent findings of arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). From bio-psycho-social points of view, he was brought up in a rather wealthy home related to Japan Agricultural (JA) Cooperatives in the community
Satisfactory Rapid Response to Xultophy Associated with Meal Tolerance Test (MTT) by Carbohydrate Loading
The case is a 69-year-old male patient with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) for 21 years. His diabetic control was not so satisfactory, and his HbA1c value increased in spring 2021. Then, he started Xultophy (IDegLira), which includes a fixed ratio of two agents of basal degludec and liraglutide. Just after providing Xultophy, the daily profile of blood glucose decreased from 179-400 mg/dL to 112-171 mg/dL, with remarkable clinical efficacy. He usually takes 80g of carbohydrates in breakfast, and the meal tolerance test (MTT) was challenged. As carbohydrate loading was given 100-75-50-0%, postprandial hyperglycemia at 60-min showed 277-219-159-133 mg/dL, respectively
Effective Single Twymeeg Administration for Elderly Patient with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), Arthralgia and Depression as Common Medical Problems
Background: Imeglimin (Twymeeg) has been effective for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Case Presentation: The patient is an 82-year-old female with T2D, arthralgia, and depression.
Results: She was given duloxetine hydrochloride (Cymbalta) and Twymeeg, leading to improved symptoms of low back pain (LBP), knee osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, depression, and possible mild cognitive impairment (MCI). HbA1c decreased from 8.8% to 7.1% for 4 months with a single administration of Twymeeg 2000mg/day.
Discussion: In recent clinical practice, elderly cases often tend to have simultaneously these problems, which are medical and social crucial problems. Twymeeg and Cymbalta may be indispensable agents for future practice
Beneficial Xultophy Treatment from Medical and Social Points of View
The case is a 65-year-old male who has been treated for Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) for 26 years. He has no previous history of cerebral vascular accident (CVA) or coronary heart disease (CHD). He has been treated on insulin therapy, and recently his glucose variability became worse due to the irregular lifestyle. Then, diabetic treatment was changed to Xultophy, which consists of insulin degludec and liraglutide. Providing 16 units of Xultophy brought him a satisfactory daily profile of blood glucose, which seemed to be lower doses compared with the ordinary standard amount. Treatment of Xultophy seems to be effective and some discussion would be described from several points of view
