Off-shell Invariant D=N=2 Twisted Super Yang-Mills Theory with a Gauged Central Charge without Constraints

We formulate N=2 twisted super Yang-Mills theory with a gauged central charge by superconnection formalism in two dimensions. We obtain off-shell invariant supermultiplets and actions with and without constraints, which is in contrast with the off-shell invariant D=N=4 super Yang-Mills formulation with unavoidable constraints.Comment: 14 page

In the title compound, C16H10Br2N2O·H2O, bifurcated intramolecular N—H⋯(N,O) hydrogen bonding defines the essential planarity of the main molecule: the dihedral angle between the quinoline and benzene rings is 7.53 (8)°. Intermolecular O—H⋯O and weak C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing, which exhibits π–π interactions with a distance of 3.588 (1) Å between the centroids of the aromatic rings and short Br⋯Br contacts of 3.5757 (6) Å

Exact lattice supersymmetry at the quantum level for N = 2 Wess–Zumino models in 1- and 2-dimensions

Supersymmetric lattice Ward-Takahashi identities are investigated perturbatively up to two-loop corrections for super doubler approach of N = 2 lattice Wess-Zumino models in 1- and 2-dimensions. In this approach, notorious chiral fermion doublers are treated as physical particles and momentum conservation is modified in such a way that lattice Leibniz rule is satisfied. The two major difficulties to keep exact lattice supersymmetry are overcome. This formulation defines, however, nonlocal field theory. Nevertheless we confirm that exact supersymmetry on the lattice is realized for all supercharges at the quantum level. Delicate issues of associativity are also discussed

In the title compound, [Sn(C20H19N2O3)Cl3], the SnIV ion is surrounded by a tridentate monoanionic Schiff base and by three meridional chloride ions in a six-coordinated distorted octahedral geometry. The Sn—Cl bond [2.366 (2) Å] trans to nitrogen is shorter than the others [2.438 (2) and 2.414 (2) Å]. The N—Sn—N angle [76.19 (11)°] is smaller than the O—Sn—N angle [87.89 (10)°] in the Schiff base ligand. No classical intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions are observed. The crystal packing exhibits π–π stacking interactions, with a distance of 3.595 (2) Å between the centroids of the phenolate ring and the benzene ring of the quinoline group of inversion-related molecules

60 Gbps real-time wireless communications at 300 GHz carrier using a Kerr microcomb

Future wireless communication infrastructure will rely on terahertz systems that can support an increasing demand for large-bandwidth, ultra-fast wireless data transfer. In order to satisfy this demand, compact, low-power, and low noise sources of terahertz radiation are being developed. A promising route to achieving this goal is combining photonic-integrated optical frequency combs with fast photodiodes for difference frequency generation in the THz. Here, we demonstrate wireless communications using a 300 GHz carrier wave generated via photomixing of two optical tones originating from diode lasers that are injection locked to a dissipative Kerr soliton frequency microcomb. We achieve transfer rates of 80 Gbps using homodyne detection and 60 Gbps transmitting simultaneously both data and clock signals in a dual-path wireless link. This experimental demonstration paves a path towards low-noise and integrated photonic millimeter-wave transceivers for future wireless communication systems

Analysis and Synthesis of Head Motionfor Life like Conversational Agents

This study aims to investigate which and what motions of lifelike conversational agents play essential role to make the agents natural. Some preliminary experimental results and future plan are shown. Embodying conversational agents is intended to imitate paralinguistic channel or back channel which plays important role in human-human conversation. Although there have been not a few lifelike conversational agents developed, appearance and behaviour of the agents are far from being natural, and merits of embodying have not been realized that much. One of the main reasons is the lack of natural motions of the agents, including the motion of head, mouth, eyes and eye brows. To improve the quality of these motions, several pioneering works have been reported [1–3]. To tackle the problem, the present study was started conducting a subjective test of head motion and analysis of head motion using signal processing techniques

Effect of high-fat diet on phosphorus absorption

Objective: Dietary carbohydrate/fat ratio may affect phosphorus metabolism because both calcium and phosphorus are regulated by similar metabolic mechanisms, and a high-fat diet (HF) induces deleterious effects on the absorption of dietary calcium. We hypothesized that the HF induces an increase in phosphorus absorption; therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effects of differences in the quantity and quality of dietary fat on phosphorus metabolism over the short and long term. Research Methods & Procedures: Eighteen 8-week-old Sprague-Dawley male rats were fed an isocaloric diet containing varied carbohydrate/fat energy ratio and sources of fat (control diet [Control], HF, and high saturated-fat diet [HF-SFA]). At 3 days and 7 weeks after the allocation and initiation of the test diets, feces and urine were collected and used for phosphorus and calcium measurement. Results: The fecal phosphorous concentration (F-Pi) was lower in the HF-SFA group than in the other two groups; however, the urine phosphorus concentration (U-Pi) was significantly higher in the HF-SFA group than the other two groups when the rats were fed over the short (p<0.01) and long term (p<0.01 vs Control group, p<0.05 vs HF group). There were no significant differences in type-IIa sodium-phosphate cotransporter (NaPi-2a) and type-IIc sodium-phosphate cotransporter (NaPi-2c) mRNA expression, which are renal phosphate transport-related genes; however, the expression of type-IIb sodium-phosphate cotransporter (NaPi-2b) and type-III sodium-phosphate cotransporter (Pit-1) mRNA in the duodenum was higher in the HF and HF-SFA groups than in the Control group (p<0.05), although there were no significant differences in these in the jejunum. Conclusions: Our results indicated that HF, particularly HF-SFA, increases intestinal phosphate absorption compared with Control

Dysbindin Regulates the Transcriptional Level of Myristoylated Alanine-Rich Protein Kinase C Substrate via the Interaction with NF-YB in Mice Brain

BACKGROUND: An accumulating body of evidence suggests that Dtnbp1 (Dysbindin) is a key susceptibility gene for schizophrenia. Using the yeast-two-hybrid screening system, we examined the candidate proteins interacting with Dysbindin and revealed one of these candidates to be the transcription factor NF-YB. METHODS: We employed an immunoprecipitation (IP) assay to demonstrate the Dysbindin-NF-YB interaction. DNA chips were used to screen for altered expression of genes in cells in which Dysbindin or NF-YB was down regulated, while Chromatin IP and Reporter assays were used to confirm the involvement of these genes in transcription of Myristoylated alanine-rich protein kinase C substrate (MARCKS). The sdy mutant mice with a deletion in Dysbindin, which exhibit behavioral abnormalities, and wild-type DBA2J mice were used to investigate MARCKS expression. RESULTS: We revealed an interaction between Dysbindin and NF-YB. DNA chips showed that MARCKS expression was increased in both Dysbindin knockdown cells and NF-YB knockdown cells, and Chromatin IP revealed interaction of these proteins at the MARCKS promoter region. Reporter assay results suggested functional involvement of the interaction between Dysbindin and NF-YB in MARCKS transcription levels, via the CCAAT motif which is a NF-YB binding sequence. MARCKS expression was increased in sdy mutant mice when compared to wild-type mice. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that abnormal expression of MARCKS via dysfunction of Dysbindin might cause impairment of neural transmission and abnormal synaptogenesis. Our results should provide new insights into the mechanisms of neuronal development and the pathogenesis of schizophrenia
