    No full text
The intention of the thesis is characterization of the innovative poetry, which appears in a composition named Altazor o el viaje en paracaídas by avant-garde poet Vicente Huidobro. In the beginning, I will focus on describing the situation, which anticipated the creation, partly I will present an author`s background and artistic circles, where he used to appear in. He was influenced significantly by francophone environment. Part of his work, including fragments of Altazor, was even written in french language. Consecutively I will describe the evolution of his literary creation to the moment of writing the Altazor. During this period Vicente Huidobro introduced his own literary movement - the creationism. I will subsequently compare fundamentals of the creationism with the ideas of the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset expressed in his essay named The Dehumanization of art. Here I will focus on describing the perception of literary creations at the time of writing both pieces and also I will outline characteristics of "new art". Then I will analyse the composition of the Altazor itself with regard to composition, language and themes. I will place the most emphasis on thematic analysis of the composition, where I will focus on usage of recurring motifs. In the language analysis I will explain..

Počas rozboru skladby budem taktiež skúmať, do akej miery Vicente Huidobro pokračuje v aplikovaní...The intention of the thesis is characterization of the innovative poetry, which appears in a composition named Altazor o el viaje en paracaídas by avant-garde poet Vicente Huidobro. Hypovitaminosis D in Children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and its Influence on Biochemical and Densitometric Parameters

    No full text
The aim of the study was to establish the frequency of hypovitaminosis D in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D), its influence on biochemical and densitometric parameters and the relation to diabetic nephropathy. 58 children with T1D at the age 9–19 years were enrolled to the study. Vitamin D concentration less than 30 ng/ml was considered as insufficient. 37 children (63.79%) had vitamin D level under 30 ng/ml, from these 19 subjects (32.7%) had vitamin D level under 20 ng/ml and 2 subjects (3.44%) under 10 ng/ml. Children with vitamin D deficiency had significantly lower magnesium concentration and lower Z score of lumbar spine (−1.34 ± 1.24 vs. −0.30 ± 1.21, p = 0.01) compared to diabetics with sufficient vitamin D concentration. No significant difference was found in parameters calcium, phosphorus or glycosylated hemoglobin. Patients with diabetic nephropathy (n = 18) showed no significant difference in vitamin D, glycosylated hemoglobin or Z score of lumbar spine compared to the patients without nephropathy (n = 40). Subjects with nephropathy had significantly longer diabetes duration, significantly higher cholesterol and triacylglycerol concentration. In our cohort of patients nearly two thirds of children had insufficient vitamin D concentration what supports the need to monitor and eventually supplement vitamin D in T1D subjects

Systematic Genomic Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 Virus on Illumina Sequencing Platforms in the Slovak Republic—One Year Experience

To explore a genomic pool of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) during the pandemic, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic formed a genomics surveillance workgroup, and the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic launched a systematic national epidemiological surveillance using whole-genome sequencing (WGS). Six out of seven genomic centers implementing Illumina sequencing technology were involved in the national SARS-CoV-2 virus sequencing program. Here we analyze a total of 33,024 SARS-CoV-2 isolates collected from the Slovak population from 1 March 2021, to 31 March 2022, that were sequenced and analyzed in a consistent manner. Overall, 28,005 out of 30,793 successfully sequenced samples met the criteria to be deposited in the global GISAID database. During this period, we identified four variants of concern (VOC)—Alpha (B.1.1.7), Beta (B.1.351), Delta (B.1.617.2) and Omicron (B.1.1.529). In detail, we observed 165 lineages in our dataset, with dominating Alpha, Delta and Omicron in three major consecutive incidence waves. This study aims to describe the results of a routine but high-level SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance program. Our study of SARS-CoV-2 genomes in collaboration with the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic also helped to inform the public about the epidemiological situation during the pandemic
