Entanglement enhanced classical capacity of quantum communication channels with correlated noise in arbitrary dimensions

We study the capacity of d-dimensional quantum channels with memory modeled by correlated noise. We show that, in agreement with previous results on Pauli qubit channels, there are situations where maximally entangled input states achieve higher values of mutual information than product states. Moreover, a strong dependence of this effect on the nature of the noise correlations as well as on the parity of the space dimension is found. We conjecture that when entanglement gives an advantage in terms of mutual information, maximally entangled states saturate the channel capacity.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure

Study of a spring pendulum sinker harmonic oscillations in LabVIEW software package

This paper describes demonstration installation “Spring pendulum” combined with the PC. Sinker oscillations on the spring with the help of distance sensor and ADC block are visualized on a computer screen. The oscillograms are displayed on the screen that makes it possible to do a comparative analysis of the harmonic displacement oscillations maxima and minima positions, velocity and acceleration of the oscillating sinker, as well as the amplitudes of these mentioned dependencies. The natural frequency dependence on the sinker weight and the stiffness of the spring is also can be observed

Weak selection and stability of localized distributions in Ostwald ripening

We support and generalize a weak selection rule predicted recently for the self-similar asymptotics of the distribution function (DF) in the zero-volume-fraction limit of Ostwald ripening (OR). An asymptotic perturbation theory is developed that, when combined with an exact invariance property of the system, yields the selection rule, predicts a power-law convergence towards the selected self-similar DF and agrees well with our numerical simulations for the interface- and diffusion-controlled OR.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, submitted to PR

    New results on superconformal quivers

All superconformal quivers are shown to satisfy the relation c = a and are thus good candidates for being the field theory living on D3 branes probing CY singularities. We systematically study 3 block and 4 block chiral quivers which admit a superconformal fixed point of the RG equation. Most of these theories are known to arise as living on D3 branes at a singular CY manifold, namely complex cones over del Pezzo surfaces. In the process we find a procedure of getting a new superconformal quiver from a known one. This procedure is termed "shrinking" and, in the 3 block case, leads to the discovery of two new models. Thus, the number of superconformal 3 block quivers is 16 rather than the previously known 14. We prove that this list exausts all the possibilities. We suggest that all rank 2 chiral quivers are either del Pezzo quivers or can be obtained by shrinking a del Pezzo quiver and verify this statement for all 4 block quivers, where a lot of "shrunk'' del Pezzo models exist.Comment: 51 pages, many figure

Anharmonicity, vibrational instability and Boson peak in glasses

    Get PDF
We show that a {\em vibrational instability} of the spectrum of weakly interacting quasi-local harmonic modes creates the maximum in the inelastic scattering intensity in glasses, the Boson peak. The instability, limited by anharmonicity, causes a complete reconstruction of the vibrational density of states (DOS) below some frequency ωc\omega_c, proportional to the strength of interaction. The DOS of the new {\em harmonic modes} is independent of the actual value of the anharmonicity. It is a universal function of frequency depending on a single parameter -- the Boson peak frequency, ωb\omega_b which is a function of interaction strength. The excess of the DOS over the Debye value is ω4\propto\omega^4 at low frequencies and linear in ω\omega in the interval ωbωωc\omega_b \ll \omega \ll \omega_c. Our results are in an excellent agreement with recent experimental studies.Comment: LaTeX, 8 pages, 6 figure

Study of the process e+eppˉe^+e^-\to p\bar{p} in the c.m. energy range from threshold to 2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector

    Get PDF
Using a data sample of 6.8 pb1^{-1} collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+ee^+e^- collider we select about 2700 events of the e+eppˉe^+e^- \to p\bar{p} process and measure its cross section at 12 energy ponts with about 6\% systematic uncertainty. From the angular distribution of produced nucleons we obtain the ratio GE/GM=1.49±0.23±0.30|G_{E}/G_{M}| = 1.49 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.30

Measurement of the e+eK+Kπ+πe^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^- cross section with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

    Get PDF
The process e+eK+Kπ+πe^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^- has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb1^{-1} collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+ee^+e^- collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the e+eK+Kπ+πe^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^- cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of K+Kπ+πK^+K^-\pi^+\pi^- production dynamics has been performed

Random Resonators and Prelocalized Modes in Disordered Dielectric Films

Areal density of disorder-induced resonators with a high quality factor, Q1Q\gg 1, in a film with fluctuating refraction index is calculated theoretically. We demonstrate that for a given kl>1kl>1, where kk is the light wave vector, and ll is the transport mean free path, when {\em on average} the light propagation is diffusive, the likelihood for finding a random resonator increases dramatically with increasing the correlation radius of the disorder. Parameters of {\em most probable} resonators as functions of QQ and klkl are found.Comment: 6 pages including 2 figure
