    NLO Dispersion Laws for Slow-Moving Quarks in HTL QCD

    Get PDF
    We determine the next-to-leading order dispersion laws for slow-moving quarks in hard-thermal-loop perturbation of high-temperature QCD where weak coupling is assumed. Real-time formalism is used. The next-to-leading order quark self-energy is written in terms of three and four HTL-dressed vertex functions. The hard thermal loops contributing to these vertex functions are calculated ab initio and expressed using the Feynman parametrization which allows the calculation of the solid-angle integrals involved. We use a prototype of the resulting integrals to indicate how finite results are obtained in the limit of vanishing regularizer.Comment: 28 pages, 7 figures. Changes made to the text. Bedengan Tourism in Malang Regency is one of the tourist destinations with the potential for sustainable development. However, in its development, environmental aspects need to be considered to ensure its sustainability. This study aims to analyze the practice of Green Accounting applied to Bedengan Tourism in Malang Regency. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and document studies. The results show that Bedengan Tourism in Malang Regency has implemented several Green Accounting practices, such as using and recognizing environmental cost accounts even though they are recorded under other accounts, measuring in accordance with KDPPLK, and presenting environmental costs in profit and loss statements. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of Green Accounting, such as separating environmental and operational costs in profit and loss statements, the absence of additional environmental cost reports, and the absence of a balance sheet. Therefore, it is recommended that Bedengan tourism implement Green Accounting to maintain environmental sustainabilit

    Teachers as Theorists

    This paper addresses the tensions that exist between policy-makers and practitioners about what learning and teaching should really be about. It adds to the collective reflection on what learning is about and how we should never stop engaging in reflection about it in an active, revolving and changing manner. Similarities between second language learning and generic learning intersperse the reflective account as the author looks through the lenses of her own disciplines of Linguistics and English as a Second Language. The reflection digs deep into the emotions of a critical pedagogue and is finally channelled into a ‘pedagogy of hope’ for a better future

    The Complementarity of Regulatory and Internal Governance Mechanisms in Banks.

    Decisions taken by the manager of a bank are subject to the regulatory discipline of the Basel Committee in conjunction with the supervisory discipline of the Board of Directors, a body that represents shareholders. This research demonstrates that the two types of discipline act in complement to each other, whereas the extant literature shows that regulatory discipline is replacing the internal discipline exercised by the Board of Directors. We also show that these internal and external governance mechanisms are relevant to explain the simultaneous influences between financial performance, risk-taking and the capitalization of French banks from 1998 to 2004.Bank governance; financial performance; capital adequacy; risk-taking; banking regulation;

    How can heat maps of indexing vocabularies be utilized for information seeking purposes?

    The ability to browse an information space in a structured way by exploiting similarities and dissimilarities between information objects is crucial for knowledge discovery. Knowledge maps use visualizations to gain insights into the structure of large-scale information spaces, but are still far away from being applicable for searching. The paper proposes a use case for enhancing search term recommendations by heat map visualizations of co-word relation-ships taken from indexing vocabulary. By contrasting areas of different "heat" the user is enabled to indicate mainstream areas of the field in question more easily.Comment: URL workshop proceedings: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-1311
