Singular Monopoles from Cheshire Bows
Singular monopoles are nonabelian monopoles with prescribed Dirac-type
singularities. All of them are delivered by the Nahm's construction. In
practice, however, the effectiveness of the latter is limited to the cases of
one or two singularities. We present an alternative construction of singular
monopoles formulated in terms of Cheshire bows. To illustrate the advantages of
our bow construction we obtain an explicit expression for one U(2) gauge group
monopole with any given number of singularities of Dirac type.Comment: LaTeX, 34 pages, 8 figure
Rigidity and defect actions in Landau-Ginzburg models
Studying two-dimensional field theories in the presence of defect lines
naturally gives rise to monoidal categories: their objects are the different
(topological) defect conditions, their morphisms are junction fields, and their
tensor product describes the fusion of defects. These categories should be
equipped with a duality operation corresponding to reversing the orientation of
the defect line, providing a rigid and pivotal structure. We make this
structure explicit in topological Landau-Ginzburg models with potential x^d,
where defects are described by matrix factorisations of x^d-y^d. The duality
allows to compute an action of defects on bulk fields, which we compare to the
corresponding N=2 conformal field theories. We find that the two actions differ
by phases.Comment: 53 pages; v2: clarified exposition of pivotal structures, corrected

On The Universality Class Of Little String Theories
We propose that Little String Theories in six dimensions are quasilocal
quantum field theories. Such field theories obey a modification of Wightman
axioms which allows Wightman functions (i.e. vacuum expectation values of
products of fundamental fields) to grow exponentially in momentum space.
Wightman functions of quasilocal fields in x-space violate microlocality at
short distances. With additional assumptions about the ultraviolet behavior of
quasilocal fields, one can define approximately local observables associated to
big enough compact regions. The minimum size of such a region can be
interpreted as the minimum distance which observables can probe. We argue that
for Little String Theories this distance is of order {\sqrt N}/M_s.Comment: 25 pages, late
Preliminary molecular phylogeny of the diatom genus nupela with the description of a new species and consideration of the interrelationships of taxa in the suborder neidiineae d.G. mann sensu e.j. cox
Β© Czech Phycological Society (2020). Molecular investigation of genera Nupela and Brachysira is conducted using strains from Indonesia and Vietnam. New species from the genus Nupela indonesica sp. nov. is described using combined approach. Nupela lesothensis (Schoeman) LangeβBertalot is investigated using molecular data too. Phylogenetic analysis shows that Nupela and Brachysira are not closest genera. Morphology of Nupela and it differences from Brachysira is discussed. The genus Nupela is differs from all other diatom taxa by having coalescent hymenes ouside of areolae but not inside. Facultative development of raphe between different Nupela species is discussed
Effect of Cp-Ligand Methylation on Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed Annulations of Aromatic Carboxylic Acids with Alkynes: Synthesis of Isocoumarins and PAHs for Organic Light-Emitting Devices
An efficient protocol was developed for the synthesis of Ο-extended isocoumarins and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons based on the oxidative coupling of aromatic carboxylic acids with internal alkynes catalyzed by (cyclopentadienyl)rhodium complexes. The coupling chemoselectivity strongly depends on whether Cp or the methylated Cp* ligands are used. The pentamethyl derivative [Cp*RhCl2]2 predominantly gives isocoumarins, while the non-methylated complex [CpRhI2]n produces naphthalene derivatives. The polyaromatic carboxylic acids (such as 1-naphthoic acid, 1-pyrenecarboxylic acid, fluorene-1-carboxylic acid, and dibenzofuran-4-carboxylic acid) are suitable for this approach. A mixture of Cp*H/RhCl3 can be used as a catalyst instead of [Cp*RhCl2]2. The structures of 3,4-diphenylindeno[1,2-h]isochromen-1(11H)-one and 7,10-dimethyl-8,9-diphenylbenzo[pqr]tetraphene were determined by X-ray diffraction. In addition, the optical properties of the prepared compounds were studied. 7,8-Diphenyl-10H-phenaleno[1,9-gh]isochromen-10-one was employed as an emissive layer for OLED manufacturing. The OLED emits yellow-green light with a maximum intensity 1740 cd β
