Introduction: This publication is the product of research, carried out in the field of management in year 2018-19, which supports the work of a PhD in Business Management at Chandigarh University.  The purpose of this research is to explore the relation between Total Quality Management (TQM) constructs and productivity in the IT industry. This study has been conducted for organizations operating in the Tricity (Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali) and NCR (Noida, Gurgaon and Delhi) regions. Problem: The control of rising operational costs in any organization has become a challenge and is a major aspect in the sustainability of an organization. Implementation of TQM may reduce these costs by improving productivity in the software development process. Objective: The objective of the research is to explore if there any relationship exists between TQM and productivity in software development organization and whether TQM positively impacts productivity. Methodology: The study is based on a descriptive research design. A total of 206 respondents were selected using convenient sampling while 90 responded back on the survey. Exploratory factor Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression techniques were applied to obtain the results. Results: Out of 4 elements of TQM considered in this study, Customer Focus and Continuous improvement were found to be positively related to productivity while Total Management Commitment was found to not be related to productivity.  The hypothesis related to People Management was abandoned because it was highly correlated to other TQM elements. Conclusion: TQM positively impacts productivity in software development organizations. Originality: This study tried to create a causal mathematical model between TQM variables and productivity. Limitations: Sample size and TQM elements were limited based on availability of time and resources.

Sinus Histiocytosis with Massive Lymphadenopathy (Rosai Dorfman Disease) and Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma

Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy (SHML) is a rare and benign source of lymphadenopathy first described in 1969. This disease commonly presents in children and young adults with supra-diaphragmatic lymphadenopathy mainly at cervical nodal sites, composed of a polyclonal population of histiocytes. Since its description greater than 400 cases have been described, however the literature is quiet scanty when it comes to its association with lymphomas. This case report describes a case with co-existing SHML and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). The diagnosis of SHML in our patient did not alter the clinical outcome and patient responded well to treatment of ALCL. Clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion in cases of infra-diaphragmatic SHML for the presence of occult lymphoma

Transcending the Digital Divide: Paving Itinerary for Conducive Digital Economy

In recent years, due to dynamic evolution of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the increasing importance of ICT diffusion in the process of economic growth, there exists the need for a broad and systematic comparison of the ICT framework development of countries around the globe. The Information Age that is upon us holds out the promise of a new world of shared prosperity, a global renaissance. At the same time, it also holds out the danger of economic exploitation, societal devastation and a new era of imperialism and colonialism. It can be spurned if we can bridge the economic and development gap, the information and knowledge gap and the great divide within. A key element to extending the information revolution is identification, development and utilization of information assets. Information and knowledge is the new fuel of the economy. In this information economy, economic development means harnessing the information and knowledge assets of a community to help local businesses succeed in the new environment

Purpose: There have been many studies that have attempted to correlate radiographic acromial characteristics with rotator cuff tears, but the results have not been conclusive. Rotator cuff tears (RCT) are the common aetiology of shoulder pain. We assessed the association of rotator cuff tears with commonly used radiographic parameters of acromial morphology and their different radiographic characteristics. Material and methods: From a retrospective study of 98 patients, we characterised acromial type and measured acromial thickness (AT), critical shoulder angle (CSA), lateral acromial angle (LAA), acromiohumeral distance (AHD), and acromion index (AI) on a 1.5T MRI, from 68 patients with partial or full-thickness supraspinatus tendon tears and 30 controls without tears. Results: Out the 68 patients with rotator cuff tear, supraspinatus was the most commonly affected tendon, with 86% (59) cases showing abnormalities. The average age of the patients was 45.11 ± 21.45 years with male dominance (80%). Partial tears of rotator cuff were more common than complete tears. Forty-eight cases showed partial tears in supraspinatus as compared to 11 cases of complete tears. The acromial type did not show any correlation with any particular cuff lesion. The AT and AI of controls were significantly smaller than cuff-tear patients. The LAA of cuff-tear patients was significantly different from that of control patients. The impingement patients demonstrated a significantly greater acromial thickness, larger CSA, decreased AHD, and decreased LAA than their control counterparts. Conclusions: A higher prevalence of rotator cuff tears and impingement associated with low lateral acromial angle, larger CSA and decreased AHD was observed. AT and AI have a direct correlation with rotator cuff tear

Porphyrias are a group of disorders caused by enzymatic defects in the biosynthesis of haem. Congenital erythropoietic porphyria (CEP) or Günther's disease is an extremely rare autosomal recessive disorder. Clinical manifestations include onset in infancy of blistering of sunexposed areas, atrophic scars, mutilated fingers, and bright red fluorescence of the urine and teeth without neurological involvement. The only available prophylactic treatment for CEP is total avoidance of sunlight. A high degree of suspicion is required for the diagnosis. Early diagnosis is very important to prevent subsequent damage

Objective: To study the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain findings in pediatric HIV patients and to correlate them with clinical and immunological staging. Methods: This study was conducted in the Department of Pediatrics of a Teaching Institute of Rajasthan. It was a prospective longitudinal study, conducted over a period of 15 months (April 2008-July 2009). Diagnosis of HIV was confirmed and classified in clinical stages and immunologic stages as per NACO guidelines. MRI brain was done in every patient. Patients with abnormal MRI brain findings were further studied and correlated with clinical findings and CD4+ cell counts. Results: We had total 109 HIV-positive patients registered with us; out of these, 90 were in regular follow-up. Out of these 90 patients, 16 subjects (17.78%) showed abnormal neuroimaging features on MRI brain. No case presented with abnormal MRI features in clinical Stage I and II. 4 were in clinical Stage III, and 12 were in Stage IV. No case presented with abnormal MRI in immunological Stage I and II. 5 cases (31.25%) were in immunological Stage III and 11 (68.75%) in Stage IV. Out of total 90 subjects, only 10 patients had abnormal clinical (neurological) manifestations and rested 80 patients were neurologically and developmentally normal. 6 out of 16 (37.5%) patients with abnormal MRI brain findings did not show any neurological manifestations. The most common MRI brain abnormality noted was cerebral atrophy in 7 (43.75%) cases followed by nonspecific demyelination in 31.25% cases, and ventriculomegaly, nonspecific calcification, and infarcts in 3 (18.75%) subjects each and cerebellar atrophy in 2 subjects. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that abnormalities of MRI brain increases with increasing immunosuppression and advancing clinical stage. We did not found any significant correlation with age and sex with abnormal MRI brain findings. Importantly, HIV‑positive children may present with only abnormal MRI brain findings without any clinical manifestation

Abstract Giant-cell tumour is a locally aggressive tumour of long bones of epiphyseal region commonly occurring in adults aged 20–40 years. Most common location is distal femur, proximal tibia, and distal radius. Different treatment options being used are curettage with bone graft or bone cement, resection with arthrodesis, reconstruction, radiation, and chemotherapy. We are reporting a case of giant-cell tumour of right proximal radius in a 50-year-old female with posterior interosseous nerve palsy. It is very rare, and only four cases have been reported in the literature. It was treated by wide margin resection with fibular grafting, titanium elastic nail system along with cancellous bone graft reconstruction
