Connecting Non Full-time Faculty to Institutional Mission: A Guidebook for College/University Administrators & Faculty Developers (review)
The employment of non full-time faculty is a major issue in higher education and much has been written on its virtues and perils, especially in the past decade. In Connecting Non Full-time Faculty to Institutional Mission, Lenora BaronNixon adds much needed breadth to the discussion by exploring the challenges these faculty members face and outlining the actions needed for their successful integration into the mission and culture of the institutio
Final Report Summaries: Iowa Gap Analysis Project
The Iowa Gap Analysis Project (IA-GAP) began in 1997 to identify areas in the state where vertebrate species richness lacked adequate protection under existing land ownership and management regimes
Exploring the eco-attitudes and buying behaviour of Facebook users
Eco-friendly consumersâ attitudes are becoming increasingly frequent, recent research
indicating that pro-environmental purchase behaviour not only lower costs on the long
term, but also enhance business stakeholdersâ and consumersâ confidence in high added
value products and services. This paper undertakes an interdisciplinary research on how
social media (i.e. Facebook) can influence usersâ perceptions and buying behaviour related
to five categories of ecological products and services (eco-food, eco-tourism, eco-housing,
eco-textiles and eco-beauty & cosmetics). This research investigates how ecological
products and services could gain popularity and overpass the identified purchasing barriers
(e.g. high prices, low awareness, low availability) via superior integration in consumersâ
daily experiences with Facebook. The research findings indicate that Facebook represents
an effective and innovative environment that could build the necessary links between green
attitudes and consumersâ hearts and minds
Editorial introduction [March 2016]
Happiness, well-being and life satisfaction are topics that are attracting increasing attention from policy makers, and even from economists. In this issue, we publish work undertaken by researchers from the European Policies Research Centre (EPRC) and the Fraser of Allander Institute (Sara Davies, Stewart Dunlop and Kim Swales) at the University of Strathclyde. They seek to ask a simple question: is happiness or life satisfaction related to where you live in Scotland? They provide evidence to back up previous research that indicates lower levels of âhappinessâ in Scotlandâs cities, though they find that âhappinessâ is greatest those rural areas that have good access to Scotlandâs cities. The good life, it appears may be one of âhaving oneâs cake and eating itâ
Editorial introduction [November 2015]

The Catalogue includes all forecasts, Outlook & Appraisals and articles published by the Commentary over the past 40 years; both as the Quarterly Economic Commentary (1970-2006) and the Fraser (of Allander) Economic Commentary (2007 - present). A Fraser Economic Commentary Digital Archive has been created and any Fraser Economic Commentary article or Outlook can be searched by author, title, date and key words â and via any search engine. Articles are made available through StrathPrints the University of Strathclyde institutional e-print repository
In Los Angeles, the geography of where people work has been experiencing rapid change.
Just as cities are places where people live, they are also places where they work. But does where people work in cities remain stable over time? In new research focusing on Los Angeles, Kevin Kane and the UC-Irvine Metropolitan Futures Initiative look at changes in where jobs are located between 1997 and 2014. They find that over the study period, employment centers emerged, grew, contracted and died far more often than expected, meaning that their location did not remain constant. He also finds that emerging centers of employment were more likely to be found close to transport infrastructure and Los Angelesâ downtown

What are the most effective treatments for bacterial vaginosis in nonpregnant women?
Either oral or vaginal metronidazole or vaginal clindamycin provides equivalent treatment for bacterial vaginosis in nonpregnant women. Oral clindamycin 300 mg twice daily for 7 days is an effective alternative. There is conflicting evidence regarding the efficacy of a single 2-g dose of oral metronidazole. Ofloxacin 200 mg or 300 mg twice daily is less effective but could be considered for women with intolerance to metronidazole or clindamycin. Overall recurrence rates of up to 30% have been reported. (Grade of recommendation: A, based on systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials
