Improved Cuckoo Search Algorithm for Document Clustering

    No full text
Efficient document clustering plays an important role in organizing and browsing the information in the World Wide Web. K-means is the most popular clustering algorithms, due to its simplicity and efficiency. However, it may be trapped in local minimum which leads to poor results. Recently, cuckoo search based clustering has proved to reach interesting results. By against, the number of iterations can increase dramatically due to its slowness convergence. In this paper, we propose an improved cuckoo search clustering algorithm in order to overcome the weakness of the conventional cuckoo search clustering. In this algorithm, the global search procedure is enhanced by a local search method. The experiments tests on four text document datasets and one standard dataset extracted from well known collections show the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed algorithm to improve significantly the clustering quality in term of fitness function, f-measure and purity

    No full text

ABSTRACT Encoding a process algebra using the Event B Method. Application to the validation of user interfaces

    No full text
This paper presents the use of the B technique in its event based definition. We show that it is possible to encode, using Event B, the models i.e. transition systems associated to a process algebra with asynchronous semantics. The Event B obtained encoding considers that the Event B model associated to the left hand side of a BNF rule defining the algebra expressions is refined by a model corresponding to the right hand side of the same rule. The translation rules of each operator of a basic process algebra are given. Then, an example illustrating each translation rule is given. This approach is based on a proof technique and therefore it does not suffer from the state number explosion problem occurring in classical model checking. The interest of this work is the capability to validate user tasks or scenarios when using a given system and particulary a critical system. Finally, we discuss the application of this approach for validating user interfaces tasks in the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) area

Detecting and exploiting symmetries in sequential pattern mining

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper, we introduce a new framework for discovering and using symmetries in sequential pattern mining tasks. Symmetries are permutations between items that leave invariant the sequential database. Symmetries present several potential benefits. They can be seen as a new kind of structural patterns expressing regularities and similarities between items. As symmetries induce a partition of the sequential patterns into equivalent classes, exploiting them would allow to improve the pattern enumeration process, while reducing the size of the output. To this end, we first address the problem of symmetry discovery from database of sequences. Then, we first show how Apriori-like algorithms can be enhanced by dynamic integration of the detected symmetries. Secondly, we provide a second symmetry breaking approach allowing to eliminate symmetries in a pre-processing step by reformulating the sequential database of transactions. Our experiments clearly show that several sequential pattern mining datasets contain such symmetry-based regularities. We also experimentally demonstrate that using such symmetries would results in significant reduction of the search space on some datasets

The article suggests understanding and analyzing the social logics deployed by the sanitary persons in charge, the health workers and the parturientes towards the reproductive health in Algeria. Resting on a qualitative investigation was led in six regions of the country, we bring to light the institutional constraints, the modes of control of the pregnancy and the childbirth favored by the local persons in charge, the tensions at the heart of the medical act, identified by the healthcare professionals and finally the logics of the women confronted with the process of childbirth which is going to represent a crucial social event, allowing them to reach mother's status
