Design of an automation controller for a “Electro-Hydro-Mechanical Object Laying System” is presented in this paper, which is a multidisciplinary equipment consisting of Electromechanical and Hydraulic Actuators and large number of sensors for process feedback. There are complex mechanisms and processes involved in this system, which are required to be operated/executed in sequential and parallel manner in real time. The operation of spatially distributed Electromechanical & Hydraulic actuators with feedbacks from multiple type of sensors are required to be synchronized for multiple activities at a faster rate along with safely handling of the objects. All the activities are automated with minimum human intervention to avoid risk to the crew. This paper mainly focuses on electronic controller hardware design for military environment and process optimization to achieve faster object laying rate

Systemic sclerosis is unusual in childhood. We describe three children who presented with diffuse hidebound skin associated with gastrointestinal and pulmonary abnormalities. Cardiac and renal dysfunctions, which are often encountered in these patients, were notably absent in our cases

New evidences of neurotoxicity of aroclor 1254 in mice brain: potential of coenzyme q10 in abating the detrimental outcomes

Objectives The present subacute study was designed to evaluate the effect of coenzyme Q 10 (CoQ10) in the 28 days aroclor 1254 exposure induced oxidative stress in mice brain. Methods Biochemical estimations of brain lipid peroxidation (LPO), reduced glutathione (GSH), and activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and acetyl cholinesterase (AChE), and histopathological investigations of brain tissue were carried out. Results Oral exposure of aroclor 1254 (5 mg/kg) led to significant decrease in levels of GSH, and activities of SOD, CAT, GPx, and AChE, and increase in LPO. These aberrations were restored by CoQ10 (10 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection [IP]). This protection offered was comparable to that of L-deprenyl (1 mg/kg, IP) which served as a reference standard. Conclusions Aroclor 1254 exposure hampers the activities of various antioxidant enzymes and induces oxidative stress in the brains of Swiss albino mice. Supplementation of CoQ10 abrogates these deleterious effects of aroclor 1254. CoQ10 also apparently enhanced acetyl cholinesterase activity which reflects its influence on the cholinergic system

Efficacy of Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana (Bloodletting with Modified Cupping) in Pain management of Ghridhrasi (Sciatica): A systematic review

Background & Objectives: Pain in Sciatica can be incredibly painful and intolerable which seeks immediate medical attention. Various treatment modalities are widely used but have side effects too. One of them is Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana (Bloodletting with modified cupping). This systematic review provides an assessment on evidence of pain management of Gridhrasi (Sciatica) by Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana (Bloodletting with Modified Cupping). Methods: The databases of PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane Library, AYUSH portal, Shodhganga, Clinical trial registry of India, Google scholar were searched systematically (since inception to February 2021) for relevant articles about the effect of Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana in pain management of Gridhrasi. All randomized controlled trials as well as non-randomized controlled trials, before and after studies and single group clinical studies assessing the efficacy of Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana in pain management of Gridhrasi was included. Results: The original search yielded 774 articles of which only 6 articles (1-pilot study, 1-case study and 4-single arm studies) met the inclusion criteria and they showed the effectiveness of Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana in Pain management of Gridhrasi. Interpretation & Conclusions: Though review shows that the Ghati Yantra Raktamokshana is effective in Pain management of Gridhrasi but due to the methodological and clinical heterogeneity and risk of bias of the included trials requires more strong evidences in terms of RCT’s with larger sample size and for longer duration to definitely conclude its effectiveness
