    The incidence of congenital heart disease (CHD) is about 8 per 1000 live births.1 The prevalence of rheumatic heart disease (RHD) in school-aged children is estimated to be in the range of 2-11 per 1000.2,3 Hence, the occurrence of both these conditions in the same patient can be considered to be uncommon.
