This study is intended to examine the depiction of woman in the pre-Islamic poetic collection known as the Mu\u27allaqat; which are considered the best piece of poetic collection in literary Arabic. The significance of this study is to identify the true rationale behind the poets\u27 over emphasis on woman in their odes. A combination of both empirical and library-based method is adopted in this study and Discourse and Qualitative contents Analysis are the techniques applied in interpreting the data. The study identifies two different types of women in the odes, the ideal woman who is not a specific woman per se, but a woman considered a deity and worshiped due to her fertility and reproductive function as a mother, she was deified by invoking her memory in the prelude of the poems as form of reverence and incantations which the poets inherited from the ancient religious legend and standardized it as format for starting a Qasida. The other type of woman is the real normal woman, whom most of the time is a true beloved of the poet, who the poet describes in his poem by giving a vivid account for their love affairs. She may also be a bar attendant, and Jaariya or slave woman. The study found the depiction of both the Ideal and real woman in Mu\u27allaqat to confine to descriptions and similes them to objects found in the surroundings of the poets. She is therefore compared to wild deserts animals and birds and from such descriptions it is deduced women were always given priority in moments of insecurity and drought, they command a maximum freedom in choosing their partners and had absolute rights to revoke marital relationship with their male partners without any hindrance or obstacle. Above all, she also participates in the warfare by nursing the injured, the horses as well as feeding them

The level of financial efficiency in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) remained low and incomparable to that of industrialized nations of the world, despite the supposed advantages of foreign capital inflows. This study examined the relationship between foreign financial inflows and financial efficiency in Sub-Saharan Africa against this backdrop (SSA). This study's specific goals are to look into how remittance inflows affected financial efficiency in SSA and how FDI inflows affected it as well. Out of 49 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, 42 were chosen for the study using a purposive sampling technique and an ex-post facto research design. The study used pooled mean group, mean group, and dynamic fixed effects techniques to estimate the model parameters using panel autoregressive distributed lag (PARDL) methods of estimation. The findings revealed that remittance inflows have significant positive impact on the financial efficiency, while FDI inflows have insignificant influence on the financial efficiency. In addition, the combination of economic growth with remittance inflows yielded negative impact on the financial efficiency while the combination of economic growth with FDI inflows yielded a positive impact on financial efficiency. The study concluded that remittance and FDI inflows play vital roles in guaranteeing improvement in financial efficiency of Sub-Sahara African countries directly and indirectly through inclusive economic growth. The study recommended that financial openness policies, like removing restrictions and encouraging free flow of financial resources between entities in domestic economy and foreign economies to promote further foreign financial inflows and enhance further financial efficiency. It is also recommended that financial openness policy should be pursued alongside inclusive economic growth measures such as economic diversification policies

The increasing integration and interdependence of the money and capital market has been observed in developing economies like Nigeria as it has been in developed economy but the roles, importance, sizes, effects and signs of the linkages is crucial for policy debate. This study identifies and validates the existence of some channels of financial market transmission in theNigerian context. Secondary data covering the periods of 1980 to 2013 was used to estimate the Vector Auto-regression (VAR) model. The cholesky dof adjusted method was employed to set the ordering of the variables and a standard deviation shock was given to the residuals in the VAR model to establish the transmission channel. The result shows that money market and capital market react to each other. Overall, the results underline the importance of the understanding of the financial market linkages and identify the existence of the credit and the asset price channel in the Nigerian context. Some of the policy recommendations are that policymakers should ensure (i)An improved institutional environment and encourage healthy competition in the banking sector. (ii) Loan contracts should be protected and financial intermediation should be conducted through the financial markets among others. Keywords: Financial Market, Transmission Channel, Vector Auto-Regression, E-views, Nigeria

An automated computerized examination results management system for tertiary Institution use for end semester examination and generation of transcripts as student’s records processing in a hybrid system is design to overwhelmed the manual or computerized method used for students’ end of semester academic result processing for some institution which was found to be complex and tedium , especially when apply for a large number of students or hybrid system in term of different program. The processing of result in term of grade collection on different courses may involves the entire process time-consuming, error prone and inability to carry out real time control system. The system to be designed is meant to perform student result administration of all facet.  The method to be employ to achieve this approach is top – down hierarchical approach. The expected result show that result and transcript generation was achieved on real time and the monitoring of students with outstanding subject are transfer to a particular partition in the database, where they are monitored on the duration of academic studies before transfer to the first, second and third probations and finally terminated. The system presents a single platform that will be used to manage the processing of all examination records both in part time and full time within the institution. The data used for testing was obtained from the  Department of Academic Planning (DAP) Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos State.
