Rough set theory is used to handle uncertainty and incomplete information by applying two sets, lower and upper approximation. In this paper, the clustering process is improved by adapting the preliminary centroid selection method on rough K-means (RKM) algorithm. The entropy based rough K-means (ERKM) method is developed by adapting entropy based preliminary centroids selection on RKM and executed and also validated by cluster validity indexes. An example shows that the ERKM performs effectively by selection of entropy based preliminary centroid. In addition, Outlier detection is an important task in data mining and very much different from the rest of the objects in the cluster. Entropy based rough outlier factor (EROF) method is used to detect outlier effectively for yeast dataset. An example shows that EROF detects outlier effectively on protein localisation sites and ERKM clustering algorithm performed effectively. Further, experimental readings show that the ERKM and EROF method outperformed the other methods.

INTRODUCTION : The life span of the present generation is increasing considerably so we are encountering many elderly male patients, seeking treatment for age related urological problems. The complaints of lower urinary tract related pathology also increases with age. They need proper evaluation and management and most important is to differentiate between the various etiology so that the management should be specific, ease for the patient, noninvasive and minimally invasive. Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) is the urological manifestation which increases with age significantly affecting the quality of life. 22–90% of patients presents with urinary incontinence (UI) which is the most troublesome one. Other significant urological morbidities related to aging are the manifestation because of involuntary bladder contractions and increased residual (PVR) volume. Bladder storage and voiding is due to a specialized physiological process. So understanding of those mechanism and that of aging process are important in the evaluation of older men with LUTS. Since many geriatric diseases are multifactorial in origin, we need a wholistic assessment of the functional disturbances of the lower urinary tract and its associated medical illnesses. DO, is becoming more prevalent in elderly and if there is any higher functional disturbance, then DO is almost certain. Urodynamics on such patients is often troublesome for the patient and difficult for the urodynamic staff. But we shall be prepared to do, as the UDS helps in the management of the frail elderly patients. AIM AND OBJECTIVE : The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and urodynamic findings of elderly patients with LUTS (Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms) to search for accurate diagnosis and effective management. MATERIALS AND METHODS : Our study population included 100 consecutive men with age more than 50 years with history indicative of lower urinary tract symptoms. Informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to participation in this study. All patients were interviewed in order to obtain detailed personal and medical histories. The patients were divided into irritative and obstructive symptom groups according to their chief complaints. Irritative symptoms are urinary frequency, nocturia urgency and/or urge incontinence; obstructive symptoms included straining, weak stream, intermittency and incomplete emptying. All details were recorded as per the proforma(Appendix). All patients were required to complete 24-hour voiding diary and pad test for 3-day frequency volume chart in order to document urinary volume, incontinence and urgency episodes, and daytime and nighttime frequencies. International Prostate Symptom Score (I-PSS) has been calculated for the cases.Urinalysis, urine culture, noninvasive free flow uroflowmetry, post-void residual urine volume measurement were performed. Inclusion Criteria: The study included all male patients of age older than 50 years with LUTS,with or without urinary retention and with or without co morbid illness. Exclusion Criteria: We exluded men with age less than 50 years with symptoms and all female cases. CONCLUSION : This study supports the use of urodynamic study in the evaluation of elderly men more than 50 years old presenting with LUTS. A significant proportion of elderly patients was found to have urodynamic abnormalities such as detrusor overactivity(DO)or detrusor under activity (DU) or bladder outlet obstruction(BOO) and additionally, the urodynamic abnormalities are widely differing, reflecting the variation in underlying etiologies Detrusor overactivity in patients with LUTS significantly affects their symptom score and perception of quality of life. Moreover, it is strongly affected by the degree of obstruction on uroflowmetry, post -void residual urine estimation as assessed by pressure flow study. So urodynamic study plays an important role in establishing a correct diagnosis in elderly patients with LUTS and deciding on additional treatments

Effect of live feed on the survival and growth of fry of Catla catla using three different live feeds namely, Cyclopoid (Thermocyclops decipiens), Cladoceran (Moina micrura), and mixed diet (Cyclopoid and Cladoceran) were studied. Commercial feed (Sunder’s feed) was used as control. Feeding experiments were carried out in 100 L tanks for 40 days. Fish fry fed with the mixed diet showed significantly better survival rate (54.80 ± 2.43%) than those fed with other food types . Fish fry fed with Cyclopoid had significantly better growth (26.03 ± 1.88 mm, weight 61.07 ± 3.53 mg) than those fed with other food types. Biochemical studies showed higher level of protein, carbohydrate, and lipid content in Catla fry fed with Cyclopoid diet. The results are discussed in the light of the literature available. It could be suggested that the Cyclopoid diet can be used as live feed for effective production of Catla fry

An algebraic approach for sentence based feature extraction applied for automatic text summarization

    No full text
In the existing approaches of Automatic Text Summarization (ATS) which uses the algebraic reduction method Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF), the approximation process is more concerned towards convergence and feature selection from the original text into W matrix is of less consideration. This obviously leads to linguistic noise which affects the quality of the summary generated the ATS process. Each sentence in a given text plays a vital role and identifying the most relevant and an important sentence from the given text is most prominent for ATS. This can be done when only the correct features of the sentences are extracted properly in W matrix. Hence this paper proposes an algebraic approach for sentence based feature extraction mainly addressing the issue that exists with the Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) based methods when applied to ATS. Result clearly indicates that the newly proposed approach can identify and extract feature terms from documents effectively and weigh them more accurately than the existing method addressed

Minimum Utilization of Electromagnetic (2G, 3G, 4G) Spectrum in Seamless Mobility Based on Various Estimation Methods

Wireless Cellular Seamless Mobility is the most important feature of a wireless cellular communication system. Basically cell phones are used for communication purpose and therefore good cell coverage is needed to make and receive calls. Usually, continuous service is achieved by supporting handover from one cell to another. Handover is the process of changing the channel associated with the current connection while a call is in progress. It is often initiated either by crossing a cell boundary or by deterioration in quality of the signal in the current channel. Mobile IP, too, has to support redirection of data to a new foreign agent after the change of network access. In this case the additional delay caused by the redirection. The shorter the interruption of the service is up to the ideal case of no service interruption. Minimizing the Delay based on some prior estimation methods in handover is better for quality of seamless connectivity anytime; anywhere across communication networks. All mobile phone system supports the seamless handover between base stations. To avoid the additional delay and wastage of Electromagnetic Spectrum, Mobile IP may use Optimizations such as rerouting of the whole packet in the flow of efficiently transmission of data with short interrupted service by Time series based Spectrum Estimation Technique. Due to the utilization of seamless handover mechanism it reduces the unwanted usage of Spectrum
